I'd have to say I'd loved to do the Florida trail until I head about the alligators LOL, You're a brave woman LOL. Taco soup sounds good and definitely sounds filling, looking forward to the next video.
very sweet -do you have a DC to DC charger while you drive will charge solar batteries/a must have for road travels/another great choice to keep batteries full of power/and a generator for a back up-many ways to keep enough power for your needs/have fun there/thanks much
I have a DC to DC charger, but it wasn't working correctly and depleted my truck battery the first time I used it. I disconnected it, and I have to troubleshoot why. I am hoping it is just a simple setting. If it were working, I probably would have been able to stay there. I didn't want a generator because of the smell and noise, but I am rethinking that after this trip. Thank you for watching!
It is easy once you learn 2 or 3 laws and formula’s about electricity. That and don’t touch neg and positive at the same time. Your frame is also ground/ neg.
When I lived in a colder winter climate, I would always miss the green too. I try to stay out of those winter climates now if I can help it. Spring is coming!
@@KimannChessa yes getting into real winter now ...I kinda like the break from bugs and heat but kinda over bundling up . Sedona looks tempting but I'm not sure if it gets cold too
You have a natural talent for editing videos and also camera placement. I also enjoy your voice and in front of the camera presence. Keep up the good work 😊. As far as your electric situation, I bet you will be able to figure it out pretty quickly. More than likely you have a connectivity issue as opposed to a hardware issue. You definitely need an electric circuit tester. Do you have any solar power on your rig? Also you should probably turn right back to You Tube and find videos to help you troubleshoot your issue.
Thank you for the complement and the tips. TH-cam is a great place to start my research on these repairs. I have 210 watts of solar. I think I need more but it doesn't help on cloudy days.
You mentioned that you have a storage area, that previously held a onboard generator. Would be a good place to store a small gasoline or dual fuel ( propane) generator. The most popular small gas generator with RV crowd,is the Honda 2,200 or equivalent size. That's 2,200 Starting Watts, and about 1,800 Running watts, which gives about 15 AMPs of steady power. There are many generators much less expensive than the Hondas, like Champion/ or Predator brands. They have become much more reliable,to compete with Honda.
Thank you so much for the tip! I do have a compartment on the side of the camper that was designed to carry a small generator. I have not used it for that. I always thought that I didn't want a generator because of the smell, noise and not having no place to store the gas but this experience has convinced me that it is a good back up to have. A propane generator would be perfect because now that I have a DC refrigerator my propane is mostly used for cooking and I go through it very slowly. I appreciate your help!
Old mechanic, it's just the easiest fix,to painful no power issues! Why struggle, fire it up !! If worried about noise, get Inverter generator, but all the small ones this size, are pretty quiet. 15 Amps will run a standard microwave easily. Microwave+portable electric heater,on high setting,or a electric RV water heater, all draw 10 Amps each. They are considered high draw home /RV appliances.
The folks at Victron might be able to help you if you call or email them. I noticed that your dc-dc charger is mounted sideways. It should be mounted with the back fins running up and down because it cools with convection - the hot air needs to go out the top of the fins. If it's sideways, it can't cool.
Thank you so much! I had a van builder install it but this was the first time that they did it in a truck camper. I will call Victron. My battery monitor is an issue too. It used to work fine but lately it is always saying 99% or 100% and then it takes 4 hours for the battery to be charged when I plug into shore power.
Probably all the no dog signs are areas that are heavy gator populations. Here in SE Fla we have people down here from up north taking their dogs out for walks arround the lake by where they are staying only to come back stunned and dogless. A hidden gator, hoping a human doesn't see them I guess, can lunge out from nowhere and make a snack of mans best friend.
Gators submerge right at waters edge, could be a huge one. They are waiting for a deer / wild hog/ etc to drink. Again, any size dog is like a candy bar to a gator. You won't win that tug of war, with leash. Basically, don't walk a dog anywhere near water or woods/ brush. They are extremely fast on land. Having a dog chained, anywhere within sight of water,is a recipe for disaster. Any size body of freshwater in Florida holds gators.

I would add some chili powder or puréed smoke chipotle peppers to the chips. That all looks yummy! Just missing some tequila or a nice Lime Margarita or both.
I was going to make some lentil vegetable soup earlier today but didn't. Now I wish I had! I "love" a good tortilla chip! Have you ever used smoked paprika in some of your recipes?
Lol! Seeing alligators is a little freaky but they rarely bite people and there have only been 30 fatalities since 1948. It is worse for dogs. Ten dogs are killed by alligators every year in Florida.
My mouth was watering from your chips n sauce lol. Anything we are not familiar with, scares the heck out of us, you’re normal lol. So anytime something goes haywire I say to myself take a breath, relax ‘it’s always fixable!’. Now to just start asking yourself who can I talk to, to help me figure out the issue? Right? I love your little spice cans are they metal and I assume you can refill them ? Sorry I comment a few times..I watch a little and comment and so on lol

It got down to the 50s at night and high 60s/low 70s during the day. It was comfortable sleeping weather. South Florida in any other season is brutally hot!

Why drain the beans when your gonna add water? The bean juice has the vitamins and minerals in it. Plus gives it more flavor. Just add less water.
That is so true! I always followed recipes that said to drain and rinse the beans. I am not sure
why. Next time, I am not draining! Thank you.
