    I'm 64 in 1979 I left New York in my 1973 Dodge custom van for California got a job immediately but had no place to live so since my van was a custom van I could sleep in it. I got the dreaded knock from the police a couple of times and actually got a ticket for illegal camping that was back in the late seventies but I was actually living in my van not for pleasure but because I had no other choice! Don't pay any attention to haters or the stigma! People that don't know you have no idea who you are or how wonderful a person you are just go on enjoying life and please be careful out there❤

    You go girl! I’m a retired male ivy leaguer former medical executive, and I’ve been a full time RVer for several years. Of the three RVs I’ve traveled in, my current Arctic Fox 865 truck camper on a RAM truck is my favorite. The lesson I’ve learned is to not disclose to transient campgrounds that you’re a full timer, just on a camping trip in the TC. Apparently, campgrounds have experienced lots of full timers in beat up old truck campers that obviously don’t look nice next to a new Tiffin Class A. So they have been burned by those old wrecks, and they haven’t kept up with the new truck campers like yours and mine that are as expensive and luxurious as many class C’s. Also, when reserving online there often isn’t a TC option on the vehicle form, so just check Class C. They’re virtually identical! Good luck out there!

      What is most likely Steinbeck's overall reason for writing Travels with Charley?
      He wrote that he wanted to get to know his country again, to learn more about this "new America." "For many years I have traveled in many parts of the world.He bought a new GMC pickup truck, which he named Rocinante, and had it fitted with a custom camper-shell for his journey. At the last minute, he decided to take his wife's 10-year-old French Poodle Charley, with whom he has many mental conversations as a device for exploring his thoughts.

      Thank you for sharing your experience in traveling in a truck camper and insight into why some campgrounds don't like them. An RV repair guy told me that some campgrounds don't want you to remove them in case of a fire. I remove mine often and no one has said anything to me about that. You are right. Sometimes there isn't a TC option online. I usually check van but a class C is more comparable.

    Fellow nurse here! I love your setup and approach to life. While we shouldn’t worry about others’ opinions, it’s harder when it’s family or someone close to you. I admire your decision. I have a truck camper and used it to stay in while finishing out my degree. My family thought I was crazy and couldn’t understand it was cozy and made me happy. They were perfectly fine knowing I go backpacking in the winter with a tent and no electricity, but being in a functional “camper” was a bad idea. 🤣

    I decided to buy a travel trailer in 2022 brand new, paid cash and wanted aluminum siding instead of the more common fiberglass siding due to staying in the extreme heat of southern Utah. Sometimes the high heat can delaminate the siding by heating the glue too much. I was living in the camper taking care of my elderly mother near by until she passed. I was amazed at how judgmental people were because they thought my camper was old! Parks would say your camper is too old we have a 10 year or less criteria. I would say, it’s new? And have to prove with a vin number. So, I get the judgement and it’s ridiculous. I have since purchased a 5th wheel 42’ and live full and travel full time with my spouse and work online. No more judgement. Sad that this is what society does to people. As you point out, we all deserve kindness, love and respect. We are all unique in our own way. Love your video, transparency and kindness, Thank You for sharing 😊

    • @TrilobitesRTasty
      @TrilobitesRTasty 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      May I ask…what will happen when your fifth wheel becomes older than ten years? Have you discussed that with the RV Park managers? I lived in a 36’ new Redwood fifth wheel for five years…but sold it and moved into an apartment.

    • @5dognight422
      @5dognight422 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TrilobitesRTasty it will depend on if the place you wish to stay will allow you into
      their park. Many places I have been to while traveling have this “standard” they want to maintain so I would assume you would be turned away. They want to keep the aesthetics of the place looking good and I guess old campers don’t fit the mold! It can be difficult to choose other options such as state parks due to size limits, being in a 42’ makes it difficult, but living full-time with 2 people and a dog requires a bit more space, especially if you work remote and need office space or at least a place to have your laptop etc. Once you reach your 10 yr mark, I guess you upgrade 🤷‍♀️

    And "when did u feel hurt like this before? Going back n realizing it's from a past experience, n it brings up the trauma of it...use it to heal..".
    Your right!
    It's all their perception, and even misperception of reality.
    "And it's not about you...".

Being homeless is not a choice and like you said it's a sad situation most times why they ended up there being houseless is an awesome choice. I think you have an awesome lifestyle, the missus with the big camper who actually started to avoided you after needed to get her narcissistic nose out of the air LOL. I can't believe a RV Park not allowing a truck camper that blows my mind. I read, when someone points a finger at you they have three pointing back at themselves like you say it's a reflection of themself not of you. Hugs!! Your story resonates with me cause I struggled with loving myself in the midst of harsh judgement & relentless bullying from others, & then, in adulthood, love & acceptance & self-forgiveness for beating myself up for how others treated me, & for the narcissistic abusive husband I had trying to gain everything from me!! I know now, to love myself & be who I am cause nobody else or no man will ever love me the way God & I love me!!! And I’m good with it!! And….. I no longer care what people think of me! As long as I know what makes me happy is good for me, acceptable to God, & it won’t hurt anybody, then I’m gonna do it, and be who I am, & it’s nobody’s business to tell me otherwise!! Their opinions of me do t matter anymore! And that’s what saves & protects my self-preservation & dignity!! Not let what others think of me bother me!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 I like your rig, btw!! It looks comfy & homey!! I’d just opt for something lighter in weight so it doesn’t squash the payload of the vehicle!!! Like I’d go for the project m pop top by @fourwheelcampers.

    Beautiful video. Judgments (both positive and negative) are everywhere and for a myriad of reasons. Human nature, I think, probably going way way back to life and death assessments. Apparently I was very lucky when I stayed at a lot of Thousand Trails parks 2004 - 2007 in my 1984 Toyota Dolphin. They didn't have the vehicle age restrictions that so many parks have now. Kimann, I very much appreciate your view of the world, how compassionate, emotional, authentic, empathetic and open minded you are. Glad you're living your best life. Just do you! Also, I had the exact same take-away after reading The Four Agreements one time. I'll have to read it again ;)

    You're exactly right about triggers and the deep dive into shadow work! I've discovered that no one is required to understand me, but they should respect me and my choices, not that they will. If someone is willing to connect with me that is always a good thing and if they don't relate, that's OK too regardless of how we choose to live. I generally don't judge which doesn't stop others from judging me and that is their issue to dive into, not mine.
    I feel like I could dive so much deeper into this rabbit hole of discussion. I am too familiar with the experience of a narcissistic relationship while recognizing it as a teacher that influenced my alchemy and transformative power. Setting boundaries and preferences and maintaining them is a first step to self-love.

    • @KimannChessa
      @KimannChessa  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wise words from a wise man! I got the same lessons from my seventeen year narcissistic relationship. It was my greatest teacher and I had to go through it to learn. What a beautiful and powerful video!! Thanks for your honesty and transparency. I truly believe that most are probably jealous of your new found freedom. Material possessions will never fulfill anyone. I want less stuff and more freedom. I once heard the saying “hurting people, hurt people”. I highly doubt that lady with the huge R/V and a house in NY is truly happy. You can’t buy happiness!!

    • @KimannChessa
      @KimannChessa  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for your insight! I often say that phrase, "Hurt people, hurt people" because it is so true and puts everything in perspective. I usually get the vision of an injured animal that licks their wounds and can only focus on the hurt. If other animals come close, they lash out. It allows me to view the person with compassion but not get sucked into their suffering and take their words and actions personally. Thank you for watching and commenting.

      You can get there! You are with a narcissist because you are a loving, compassionate person with a bright light. Narcissists drain that light. I put others first, always thought things were my fault, and had wishy-washy boundaries. I walked on eggshells and censored everything I said. I hid myself in order not to make waves. That was familiar because I had to do it my entire childhood. You are worthy of being accepted and loved for who you are. I am sending you love. It is very challenging. 🤗❤
