I disassembled by Star 3 years ago, with the intention of learning to hot blue. I never got around to it, so the other day I cold blued the frame, slide, and barrel, and put it all back together. This video was INVALUABLE. The only tip I would add is probably just for dummies like myself, but when attempting to put the hammer back on, make sure you have the right sized punch! If you're using a screwdriver that's a little too small, you're in for a MISERABLE TIME, and ultimately FAILURE... OnceI got the proper sized punch, It took me like 30 seconds to get the hammer on.
Thank you for very detailed and informative video. I have never owned a Star, but at one time had a Colt 19111A which is very similar. Not that I ever stripped it down to this degree, only removed the slide, barrel, recoil spring etc.
Thanks, it’s a bit of work to script out but I enjoyed it once it was all said an done. A long time ago I did the 1911, check it out th-cam.com/video/Ey5OfJPPMSk/w-d-xo.html
Hi hello after assembly mine the trigger doesn’t work no more. I don’t know if I did anything wrong but if I take the trigger pin located just a bit higher off it seems to work but moves around may u help me please ?
Honestly I didn’t count, I didn’t take off the staked parts but you could freeze frame the layout at the beginning or the end of the disassembly video and count, they are all there…I think…haha
Making sure the gun is back in a safe firing position after recovering from recoil. If the firing pin is struck while the cartridge is not fully supported by the chamber, the explosion inside the cartridge will take the path of least resistance, which is most often the thin brass casing. That’s basically what an “out of battery discharge is.” Your hammer could also strike the bottom of the slide too early and not fully impact the firing pin with the maximum force preventing proper cartridge destination, a “light primer strike.” Hope that helps!
This is my go-to video series for complete assembly/disassembly of this firearm
Awesome! Glad I could help!
I have a 1977 Star BM. Love it.

Is the model B n model BM firing pin the same?
How many total parts are needed for the assembly of this firearm?

What is the role of the battery safety in the gun?

@@n2dadarknight Does the battery safety have the task of setting up the hammer during firing?
What snap caps do you use?
