  • Hi guys today we're going to be looking at one of my favorite camos, the Swiss "Alpenflage" pattern. There have been a number of slight variations of it over the years, but this is the TAZ 83 version. This cut of uniform was introduced for non combatant members of the Swiss Armed forces to wear, and thus is much simpler than the combat uniform they used until 1990.

I've known about alpenflage but haven't gotten the chance to get my hands on some till recently, and this is the piece I got. Thank you for this video it clears up some questions.

this one is the one i bought first, this camo really made me look at camos differently, before that i did not really focus on different uniforms of countries, but when i saw alpenflage it really made me appreciate beauty in every camo, excluding ucp fuck ucp.

If you whant to see the size of the jacket is the number on the left bottom side near the the zip, for example 52, 54 or 56, hope to have been useful

These uniforms were actually used in combat by the Albanian/Kosovar UÇK, or Kosovo Liberation Army in the Kosovo war in the 1990’s. As far as I know, their use by the UÇK is the reason why the Swiss government unfortunately doesn’t like to surplus much of their modern equipment anymore.

I've actually seen photos of what you're talking about. They also used the older Taz 57 cut uniform.

@@GearReview23 Just remembered, a veeery small number of Russian troops(VDV?) wore alpenflage in Chechnya, though it may just be TAZ-57/70.
It seems to come up exclusively in the weirdest of places.
