- In this Video I will show you how to update the Firmware on your Sony A7R iii and A73 to version 3.10.

Firmware Update Changelog:
v3.01 (05-16-2019)
Improves the overall stability of the camera
v3.00 (04-11-2019)
Adds real-time Eye AF for animals
NOTES:
It is not possible to detect human and animal eyes simultaneously
Eye detection may not be possible and depends on the environment, animal type, and movement of the animal
Allows you to operate the real-time EYE AF by half-pressing the shutter button or by pressing the AF-ON button
Adds the Interval Shooting function
Allows operation with the wireless remote commander RMT-P1BT (sold separately)
Allows you to assign the [MENU] to a custom key
Allows [MENU] tab operation with the Fn button
Improves the overall stability of the camera
v2.10 (12-18-2018)
Resolves a problem caused by specific third-party memory cards, where the cards cannot be recognized by Sony cameras
Fixes an issue where, while taking a picture using the Auto Review function, the camera may stop responding
Fixes an issue where, in rare cases, images may not be displayed or the camera may stop functioning while writing RAW data onto an SD card that has been used multiple times
Note:No image data on the memory card will be modified or deleted, aside from the data that was being written at the time the issue occurred

Optimization of the optical image stabilization performance, and addition of a new image stabilization mode of the lens (Mode 3) (Only "SEL400F28GM")
Addition of a Function Ring(Lens) to the menu
Note:For the SEL400F28GM lens, the APS-C S35/Full Frame Sel. setting is assignable to the Function Ring in addition to Power Focus
Addition of [Aperture Drive in AF] setting in the menu
Note:Using the lens "SEL400F28GM" or "SEL24F14GM", when [Silent priority] is selected, the sound emitted by the aperture drive will be reduced. This is useful in shooting conditions where camera noise should be kept to a minimum. Note that Auto Focus may become slower when [Silent priority] is selected
New features:
[AF Track Sens] can be assigned to a custom key
When used with the LA-EA3 mount adaptor, all focus areas are supported
Note:Focus Area options added: Zone, Expand Flexible Spot, and Lock-on AF Bracket shooting is available during silent shooting when [File Format] is set to [RAW] or [RAW & JPEG] and [RAW File Type] is set to [Uncompressed]
Other improvements:
Improvement of the performance and the overall stability of the camera
Better reproduction of the gradation of RAW pictures
Note:Imaging Edge softwareneeds to be updated to benefit from the improvement in the RAW processing
When shooting with a flash in an environment with flickering light sources, the stability of the exposure is improved
Improvement of managing continuously shot images as a group
Note:Refer to theHelp Guidefor updated function usage

A new Interval option is now selectable for Pixel Shift Multi Shooting: [On: Shooting Interval 0.5sec] option added to the menu
Notes:
When the camera is connected to a PC, please use the latest version (1.2 or later) of the Imaging Edge software
When using an A-mount lens via a Mount Adaptor (LA-EA1/ LA-EA2/ LA-EA3/ LA-EA4), the interval might be slightly longer
Bracketing is now available during Silent Shooting with uncompressed RAW
Improves the peaking display level for S-Log shooting
Improves the Eye AF, which under a specific set of circumstances, did not work properly
Solves an issue where [Viewfinder Brightness] was not being reflected correctly in [Manual] setting

Hey A7R iiiA people like me who are wondering why it doesn’t work. A7R iiiA came out in 2021. The last firmware update for A7R iii was 2019…. so A7R iiiA shipped with latest firmware… there is not an update needed for it yet past v1. If there ever is one, it will show up on sony’s site as a separate model from the A7R iii.
thank you for telling me that. i was really getting frustrated with trying to find the update. this is the stupidest thing ever. why would they bring the a7riiia out in 2021 if it has an older firmware update... like wtf

can i update my sony a7R3 camera directly from version 1.0 to version 3.10
Which version of firmware does sony a7iii have initially because I just bought mine brand new at best buy and it already has version 3.10 in it. Does it mean somebody else did it and then returned it?
Not to worry! the firmware in question came out in December of 2019 which is now of course over a year ago. So, your new camera had the latest firmware pre-installed! I would not worry about it being used unless there were other signs that would indicate as such.
@@The_Retro_Room So I guess whenever they make a new batch of them they include the latest firmware available instead of the initial version. That would make sense. Thank you so much!

I dont have the stock usb cord

So I've just bought a brand new Sony A7Riii and realised the firmware is well out of date. I've also discovered that Sony requires the camera to be tethered to a computer for updating rather than a memory card which seems rather archaic. The camera simply won't update. i run a system software updater and it says could not find the camera for this update. (It's set up for mass storage)

there is two Models of Sony A7Riii. The lastest Firmware of ILCE-7RM3A is V.100

That Can ONLY Mean One Thing?? Its Gonna WIPE OUT All My Time Consuming Personal SETTINGS...YES? Forcing Me To Start All Over Resetting Up All My Personal Settings including WiFI Networking, Blue Tooth All Video & Still Settings?
