Thank you so much for this content James. Yesterday you did the impossible and flicked a switch in my partner to make changes. I asked him to watch your video and actually pay attention to the message. He's big, so am I and I'm losing slowly but he scares me with his inactivity and eating habits. He has ptsd and depression and when he trys to get help for his weight or mental health he is told he's depressed because he's fat and he should 'not be sad', in reality he is fat because he's depressed with no coping mechanisms or support. After watching your video he had a completely different energy, he got on my treadmill and discussed doing a little more each day, ate a small snack rather than binging, was more present rather than hiding in his ps5 bubble. He made better decisions and talked about changes for the future. Oh I'm rambling but thank you. 'It's not your fault but it's your responsibility' really hit home with him, it was exactly what he needed to hear. Thank you 💜

I was in a deficit for about 2 months of around 1800 a day (including weekends!) losing around 1kg a week, then I went up to 2300 a day and continued to lose weight, obviously at a slower rate. But, I feel so much happier, more energy and PR'ing everything in the gym. So far lost 39kg, now I'm at the really really slow phase of losing the last few kg of fat I don't want.

I’m a 40 year old female who is on a journey to undo a lifetime of mis-information, has lost years of my life punishing myself with cardio, and eaten a diet high in processed ‘health’ foods. I love your no-nonsense approach. I started strength training 3 months ago and I’m loving it! I am in the process of kitting out the garage - I have the motivation, I just need the knowledge to be safe and effective. I feel so energised and ready for life! I still feel like a novice so I always appreciate posts regarding form and adaptions to overcome limitations. I now need to start refining my diet so I can achieve some fat loss. I’d love to see some female specific content - how to train around hormones etc. Caloric deficit around the menstrual cycle. Or does training and diet even need to be adapted around the menstrual cycle? Is an intuitive approach best? If I’m feeling rubbish, just have a download week?

Love your matter of fact approach (polite version). Love that you recommend living your life whilst adapting your approach to weight management in a maintainable, realistic way. I'm learning and as someone who has always been weight conscious (woman obvs) I like having tools to play with that I can fit into my life. Your video today was particularly interesting as been on a calorie deficit for about 2 weeks and have lost weight but thought I'd have lost more. Then when you said those in calorie deficit move less, I realised I had been doing that.....not to say i wasn't moving but i was probably being a bit more cautious (although still walking 3 miles a day). I'm doing the intermittent fasting only because I'm menopausal and trying to regulate my hormones at the same time. Did do some weights too but then injured my shoulder so just waiting for that to heal before picking it up again as i do believe that's what i need to add to my routine. I know you are young and probably quite male focussed, some insights into 'older' women would be music to my ears. I need tips and tricks that I can build into my life as i work full time and have two kids so sometimes something has to give. Thanks James, keep making me laugh please with your insta stories. You said you wanted feedback !

Content variety about the human body and brain in relation to exercise training and dieting are a win in my book mate. Honestly, the further technical view on the video's i think you're spot on with as well. Keep up the work✌🏻

For me this is one of your best videos. Partly because I learned you're a skater 😀 but also the information is given in a logical, scientific and straightforward way without dumbing it down too much but still being clear and simple, that takes skill.
    Funny as ever too

Don’t have a strong take on like or dislike, but I’d love to see a video about what goes into writing a book! Think it could be a great promo for the new book, but would be super interesting as someone who’s reading your first book.

loved the skateboarding content, I used to skateboard every single day to school, college and uni. Now I am an adult with a car I barely skateboard unless I go to the skatepark, I will definitely try to use skateboarding as a fun way to increase my deficit other than just the gym

Great video. Love understanding the science of weight loss. I also really like when you explain what drugs people cheat with to lose weight - it actually inspires me to know that not everyone is 'playing fair' and gives me a more realistic target

James I got to this a bit late mate (video is 8 months old) but I love the humour and the fact that you call out all the marketing crap that is out there. I used to subscribe to certain Men’s Health magazines😉 but found that the advice regularly contradicted itself from month to month which just caused confusion. Genuine facts, advice and support is much appreciated.

I just love your honest no nonsense no BS attitude and delivery. My son has just qualified as a PT, he has a similar attitude to you and helped me loose 15lbs of weight I gained during menopause. We're coming to see you in Edinburgh in Sept. As a young man just starting out on his career I'm sure your next book and show will be hugely beneficial. Keep the videos coming......
