Im running the dc headers, isr resonated test pipes, tanabe y pipe, isr blast pipes. Its pretty loud and under full acceleration sounds like pure performance🎉
Damn that’s pretty sweet. I’ve considered going with the DC headers, but I’m just gonna get rid of my resonated pipes and go along two headers for that little bit more of performance.
I've messed around with engineering my own exhaust as well. Final version: Mild steel dual exhaust with H crossover, stock cats (CA!) 2 louvered resonators (super cheap) to lower pitch, and 2 vibrant ultra quiet mufflers. Sounds like a v8. Pulled up on a corvette, couldn't tell our exhaust notes apart. Easy, inexpensive. No trumpet, no drone.
Best setup ive ran is my current one. Stock headers, z1 non resonated TP, 3" y pipe, and AP muffler. The agency power muffler kills a lot of the rasp. There's still some on the higher end but not terrible. Resonated y pipe would probably take care of that but i like a little rasp.
I know, but i found that larger diameter piping increases more rasp. Also, if there is anything more than 2.5 inches of diameter piping, you will lose power and torque. The original diameter piping is perfectly fine as long as you're getting rid of the stock cats.
Would u recommend keeping stock resonators or getting bigger ones? Everything is stock on mine besides a resonated axle back but, I still hear rasp at a high rpm.
I mean theoretically u want an entire aftermarket exhaust especially provider flow, but if what you’re wanting to do is eliminate rasp you can have some different resonators Weldednin somewhere in ur exhaust and keep the stock ones or just cut out the old one and weld new ones in(vibrant are great)
I have aftermarket mufflers and took off the resonators and I’ve gotten nothing but compliments on the sound and tone of my setup but I do want to get high flow cats and I’ll probably end up putting resonators back on if it’s too loud or raspy
True, I guess if you keep some kind of muffler and then take off the resonators, it would still sound decent, but if you’re running, no muffler and resonated elite shits gonna sound awful
If u want to sound good gotta get that money up Motordyne exhaust Ppe headers is the way to go if u just want some sound just do muffler delete but it will sound trumpet ash
A HKS hi power cat back exhuast with high flow cats sounds great the cat back exhuast was $1800 but was worth it with the high flow cats it's not crazy loud it's just right and do3snt sound like crap
💯 I have this same setup. Super quiet unless you are on the throttle. On the throttle it sounds throaty. I saved for mine then got it when my tax return came in.
lemme start out stating i dont know shit but i need to replace a rusted out y pipe because its embarassing af, stock everything just really looking to replace the y pipe, when there was a small leak it didnt sound awful but curious what my options are. might just be a lame and get regular oem but i liked when i had a bit of noise but nothing crazy, even kapows is a little much for me. TIA
Headers, High Flow Cats, Z1 Resonated Y-pipe and OEM mid pipe and muffler. Retain the real VQ sound the engineers created, but deeper and amazing under WOT. Anything else doesn't sound like a VQ anymore. No drone, no buzzing, no trumpet, and not obnoxiously loud around town at low RPMs.
Im gonna switch up my exhaust forsure I have non res test pipes paired to Z1 Y pipe I picked up a stillen dual catback for my awd sedan I love the sound but the stillen resonators are awful and rattle like tin cans im gonna swap them for vibrant resonators
@@kapow_g37 hopefully the vibrants fix the issue only reason I jumped on the Stillen is because the guy was selling it for 500$ basically brand new I couldn't resist but yeah very unique I didn't use the Stillen Y pipe so I sold it for 200$ and made some money back
@@lyndoncobb7077 vibrant will FOR SURE help it and not rattle there very compact and good quality. And ya exactly an aftermarket exhaust used for cheap with some other custom parts, it’s really the best option
To my understanding X pipes tend to give a little more of a high-pitched sound and h pipes give a lower growl so if you were to get one, I think I’d recommend an H pipe but also depends on what other exhaust components you’re running
Honestly, it’s a distinguished sound and different than most V6 is so I don’t hate it but also doesn’t really compare to something like a V8 personally
You made this more easy to understand to understand as I’ve only been in the VQ family for 9 months and still didn’t know about exhaust stuff till now
Preciate it man. Glad I could make it easier!
Looked like the dude in blue for a sec lol
I got ISR longtube headers motordyne resonated y pipe & hallbuiltperformance super single with a vibrant resonator welded on & it sounds beautiful 👌🏼
That’s a crazy setup damn

Did u use the one that came in with the car?
@EveryThing-no4is sorry, I mentioned alot of parts. Did you mean the cats? If so yes, Nissan oem. Price I have to pay for living in CA.

full isr resonated single exit, isr hfc, sounds deep no rasp & a very aggressive growl
Solid ass setup
nice video, i got my custom exhaust done and i think it sounds great. very similar to yours, i uploaded some exhaust clips.
currently I'm only running the Motordyne cat back with stock cats
Best exhaust set up is ISR testpipes stock y pipe magna flow resonators and a muffler delete.
Stock y pipe is a pretty small diameter though as compared to aftermarket ones so flow is not near as good
I know, but i found that larger diameter piping increases more rasp. Also, if there is anything more than 2.5 inches of diameter piping, you will lose power and torque. The original diameter piping is perfectly fine as long as you're getting rid of the stock cats.
Mine is just a axleback and isr hfc. It sounds very heavy and less trumpet 🎺

thanks for this video bro
I'm running the Invidia Genesi catback and it sounds decent. a little quieter tho but it sounds good.
Yeah, not a bad sound but just a little too quiet for me
Same, a lot of people think it’s quiet but it’s good volume for me and no rasp. Had mine on for like 8 years at this point as a DD
Got a muffler delete with cats still on I like it not super loud when driving normal but is loud when I push it perfect for me
Ya I don’t doubt it def not a bad setup

i got a straight pipe on mine and i hate how it sounds under 2.5k -3k but imma just run non-resonated test pipes with the vibrant resonators
Sounds like a solid idea

If you don’t want to be super loud, but still get some noise by the beluga axel back. also under multiple other names, but all the same exhaust.

Test pipes and sell cats. Then get some resonators out in

Ya def still has the trumpet at heart but it’s at least a lil diff I think. And I appreciate that!!!!
