I owned a hair company and we only sourced raw virgin European hair. When a client came in, we would show them the hair BEFORE we made it for them. For blondes, we would only use natural blonde virgin hair and usually highlight it to the client’s specifications. This was 25 years ago and we were charging up to $4000. So if you find “virgin European blonde hair” for a few hundred dollars, it is not what they say it is. Denise - I’m loving your videos. Thank you for all that you do.
Interestingly, blonde human hair wigs are not processed any more than the brunette/red shades. They bleach ALL of the hair to a platinum blonde, and then textile dye is deposited into the hair. This is the only way to guarantee consistency from piece to piece and longevity of the color. Generally, only the darkest of colors are un-bleached. That said, the bleach process used by factories is nowhere near as damaging as what we use in salons. It's a reverse osmosis process that slowly bleaches the hair over a week. That's why blonde bundles of hair feel so much healthier than most people's own color treated hair.
Been wearing toppers and then wigs for 9 years. All were custom made human hair and very expensive - about $1800 for the last one I purchased in 2020. They had to be colored ($100) about every 3 months because the color fades and refurbished ($600) once a year because of hair loss. This past summer I could no longer tolerate the extreme heat of a full human hair wig. Did my research and bought a RW Elite wig. Doubt I’ll ever go back to the human hair. Can’t beat wash/shade/wear!!! And soooo much cooler!!! FYI - I was told by woman who styled my wigs that only Asian hair should be in a human hair wig. She said the hair requires so much processing that Caucasian hair cannot take the chemicals and process. Asian hair is much coarser. Which means - cutting your hair to donate for cancer patients is a serious fraud. The organizations will accept your hair because it is great PR but wigs you receive through them are not the hair you sent. When she told me, it was easy to research and find that to be true. Your comments here about chemicals and dying are very true. Not common knowledge but easy to find.
Hi sister in wigs and the Lord❤. I started out with human hairpieces 20 years ago pre TH-cam days and I can honestly say I wish you had been around when I was learning...it's a steep curve on your own so I thank you on behalf of all the ladies you have been called to help. I now predominately wear synthetic because I don't care anymore if someone knows I am wearing a wig and it's fun to mix it up. You look like you have list a lot of weight...hope it's by choice. Blessings and love from South African lady in Spain.
I’ve seen you in just about every color wig on the market…they all look fabulous..seriously. I think this brown wig you have on today may be my favorite…it really, really looks good and brings out your beautiful eyes. Thank you so much for all the info, although it seems overwhelming at times!
Omg thank you. All of the sudden I lost my hair in 3 months. Went from a full head of hair to. Completely bald. My mental state is terrible. Sometimes I feel like I cannot go on but you are an inspiration to me I’m. Glad I found you. I just wish someone could give me an answer. I only like human watches ha as synthetic itches me so badly. You are amazing. I’m crying right now. Thank you for being there.
thanks for this. Although I never want to get a real hair wig, I'm happy with my synthetic. I had a friend asking me about real hair last week, I can show her this now. Perfect timing.
YES!!🙌🏻 thank you for this!! Like I told you I got take advantage of for 3,000 in person! I thought I could trust this shop and I absolutely have nothing to show for it! I thought finally getting a good quality of wig it’d last!! There’s so many sellers that take advantage of hair loss it’s terrible!
Can't wait to see a full video on how to get the best curl from curly human hair wigs, especially Danity. Would also love to see a more in-depth review of Danity colors. I'm contemplating the red one, but it's hard to tell how bright the red is overall.
Hi Denise, please can you tell me what wig it is your wearing at the beginning intro, where u wrinkle your nose, it’s really nice and suits u so much (as do most ) xx
Thank you for that in-depth, very interesting video, Denise. I've had two human hair wigs in my lifetime and that was through clearance and it was really dirt cheap; and the texture is beautiful obviously but they need to be taken care of just like our bio hair. That's why I like synthetic wigs because they're easier to deal with really. And for me, the less products on my wigs, the better; unless of course they start getting frizzy and then I deal with them. Sometimes I use the pricey stuff and sometimes I don't. They all basically work the same. You sound like you have a cold, and I'm a little bit under the weather which means I'll be down for the count for Thanksgiving but I hope you and yours have a blessed Thanksgiving, Denise! We have much to be grateful for.
Thank you! I was soooo sick when I made this video (a few weeks ago). I had been sick for THREE weeks! The day I made it I was starting to feel better, and then a few hours later, I was back in bed. I'm over it now, but it was super rough! Hugs, and I hope you feel better! Happy Thanksgiving ❤
There is a LOT to unpack about human hair wigs, thank you! With MOST human hair for wigs, the cuticle is COMPLETELY stripped and then coated with silicone. Obviously, this makes the wig cheaper to produce because you don't have to worry if the cuticles are aligned-- there ARE no more cuticles. When you first get these wigs, the hair feels soft and silky because of the silicone coating. But after a few washes, the silicone washes away and the hair FEELS and LOOKS like straw. I now only order human hair wigs from wigmakers who I KNOW source unprocessed hair (virgin, cuticle aligned....Slavic, Mongolian and Brazilian can all be soft).
I had a few companies that I loved. Sadly the last one sold her company and I noticed the prices are way cheaper. I'm just going to find the original owner and ask where she got her hair from.
@@TeganFae One is definitely InVogueMedicalWigsandBeyond. The wigmaker has her master's degree as a cranial prosthetician, which means she is an EXPERT and makes a lot of her own wigs. I need to order custom because no wigmaker makes my colors in stock and the only wigs I like have very soft European hair responsive to curling. Her wigs have GOOD hair, ranging from budget-level, affordable pieces to GREAT hair, highest quality European hair.
You are an unbelievable person. I will take you up on your offer. Again. I will order all of those wigs. I’m completely lost. Anxious depression. Thank tou
EXCELLENT INFORMATION, Denise! Just purchased a Remy wig from Marlene/Marlene'sWig and Chat and I'm flying blind as far as caring for a human hair wig. I'll learn! You look great in everything and you look great too! Thank you! ❤
I knew you lost weight you look fantastic!!! I ordered the human hair medical hair wig and gave high hopes. I used your discount code thank you. I ordered the copper because it looked great on you. They all did. If I love it I’m going to order the bronze!!
I hope you love it! Remember that there is A LOT you can do to make it your own. I cut layers into all mine, I think it makes the front look more natural and helps to bring out the curls (I have a video showing how I do it in case you haven't seen it and need it). HUGS! OH, and I would be more than happy to do a video call with you if you are struggling at all with it. Here is a link to my calendar: calendly.com/heywigsister
@@MoonRabbit_11 Hi. Yes I did and sadly the quality was not there. I was very disappointed. I contacted the seller. They asked me to send photos which I did. I may have just gotten a bad one. The one Denise has on looks amazing. There were sparse areas all over the scalp. Also the hair was not smooth and all that soft. It was kind of frizzy. I in no way want to discourage you from ordering one I’m just telling you my personal experience.
@christineciccone2201 Thanks for the input. I'm not that surprised at the hair texture bc I think that's what they are going for, but I did have some concerns about the lace top.
I’m happy with plain old synthetic wigs that keep their shape. I don’t want the hassle of having to style and use heat on my wigs. But, I am intrigued by the human hair blended with heat friendly fibers. I would think in a bob style, there would not be a lot of fixing to do.
Thank you Denise for this video! It was very helpful and informative! I’ve been wearing synthetic wigs now for 6 years after losing my hair to menopause at 26 years old and start losing more after my first husband passed away. Early this year, I found wigshe and bought my first HH wig. I was so excited because I watched my money pour down the drain with synthetic wigs. I would buy one then have to throw it away once it was done. Buy another then throw it away a few months later.. on and on. It was a never ending cycle and honestly I would rather spend my money at the spa haha. Especially since these synthetic wigs are over $400!!! So, I purchased my first wigshe wig and it was great at first. However, 4 months later, I’ve had nothing but problems. Lace coming undone, hair tangling and the damage!!! Don’t even get me started on the damage and frizz!! It’s a NIGHTMARE!! I thought my hopes and dreams of finally having a HH wig that would last a lifetime would come true but boy was I wrong. Also, I have a very unique shaped head. Even ultra petite is too big on me and wigshe fully customized my wig. These wig brands like JR and BT won’t do that. When I reached out to wigshe about my horrible experience, they did not offer me a refund or anything. Definitely not sympathetic to my situation. I won’t be buying wigs from wigshe anymore. If you have any recommendations or suggestions, let me know. ❤☺️
Great video!! HH oxidizes , even with good care products and turns a bit orangish over time. Could you explore this topic sometime please? Thank for your always helpful videos.
Great video, very educational. Something I want to add: I've been learning about ventilating lace fronts in case I someday want to try myself. If I did, I would still work with synthetics. Most of the tutorials I see are showing human hair ventilation. And a lot of the tutorials I have seen show the knot tied so that the return (the end of the knot) is the same length as the other end, so even if the hair was remy to begin with, the hair is knotted with the the two lengths of hair with cuticles going the opposite direction. Those wigs probably have fewer flyaways because there is not a bunch of short or mid length return hairs hanging out there, but they must tangle like crazy. I can understand how difficult it must be to choose a human hair wig after learning what you have outlined here - the alignment of the cuticle, the quality of hair to begin with, whether it had to be straightened, how much processing was required to get it to the color at the time the hair was sold, whether there was additional processing done to the hair by the wig manufacturer, etc. I still am not ready to buy a human hair wig but I feel like I know a lot more about it so if I ever want to do that I will be prepared thanks to this video.
You asked for video ideas, it would be interesting to see the difference (if any) between your various human hair wigs when they're washed and allowed to dry naturally. Are the cheapest the frizziest? Or is there no difference? Do Brazilian or European or Slavic or whatever all have different textures in their natural state?
Denise, FIRST. you look AMAZING! 😍 Hair, make-up, wardrobe! Super cute beads☺ Oh, my goodness! YES, there is so MUCH to learn about wigs and all of the different fibers 😬 I'm thinking about getting a HH wig. I don't have to tell you or anyone else, a HH piece is an investment! I am lucky to own multiple pieces that are synthetic. I thought I really liked HF synthetic until I got a HH/HF blend 🤪 Before I got my first wig, I had read or heard in a video "HH are more 'work' because they don't hold their style. WHAT are your thoughts on this? I mean once you curl your piece how long does the curl last? OR does that depend on the origin of the hair? My bio hair would never hold a curl 😒 I mean 30 minutes out the door and it was falling! Here's another QUESTION ~ what's the difference, other than the obvious, in the origins, European, Indian, Chinese? EXAMPLE If I had to guess, I would think the European could naturally dry [after a wash] with a slight wave/curl? And Chinese straight? AND what's the denier difference? With something as fine as a hair fiber is there really much of a difference? I might think of more later 😆 THANK YOU for this review! 🥰
You look great no matter what wig you wear. But the wig world is a mystery, so these videos are priceless for us (sometimes) wig wearers. My question is an odd one: Would you mind providing a link to whatever the background thingy is behind you? I need a backdrop for when I take photos of myself in wigs that I've decided to sell. Thank you for all the work you do to help others.
Very helpful video. Thanks. I once had a human hair halo, ash blonde, that turned orange. My hairdresser, who did my highlights, said that Argan oil can cause this. If you are buying a blonde human hair wig I would definitely ask a stylist about various oils and whether they can potentially damage bleached human hair.
You hit the nail on the head with this video! I have 2 hh wigs that are not remy, are blond (12fs12), and tangle so bad. After about 1 hrs, I look like a blond bozo. I have the same wig in dark brown that is almost 6 yrs old, and I can still wear it. I guess some of the processing is brutal on the hair. I only got about 10-12 wears and one wash before the tangling began. 😢
Holy moly!!! I am SO grateful for this video! I always love your videos and advice and this one has been so important for me! I have been trying to navigate the human hair world (as I prefer it) but I had NO idea how to figure all this out. THANK YOU.
Thank you, Denise! Great info! One question - if I buy a human hair wig, how would I know if it would air-dry similarly to Danita? I LOVE that look! They don’t all dry that way do they?
Hi! No, most wigs do not dry this way as this one is naturally curly. Unfortunately it is very difficult to know how a wig will air dry, which is why I always include that in all my human hair reviews (although because each wig is made with different hair that can vary A lot). The only thing you can do is ask the retailer what the piece you are looking at air dries.
i would like to know if you have purchased Human Hair from one of these designers that I list and I would like to know if you find their advertising to be reflective of your experience with the hair: Estetica Designs, Jon Renau, Raquel Welch
Hi Denise, thank you once again for this very informative tutorial on caring for a human hair wig and what to look out for when choosing one! I just purchased Danity because it is such a beautiful choice in a human hair wig! I am nervous at the same time. This will be the first time trying a full wig and it’s nerve racking and exciting at the same time! You have given me the confidence to give it a try! Is the wig you are wearing in a brown with baby highlights? Has anything been done with it since you purchased it? I am used to wearing bangs can this wig be altered to have them? Thanks for your help! 😊
I am new here. 😊 Thank you so very much for all your help with explaining about the wigs. I don’t have a wig yet…. but I will buy one very soon. It is just sooo overwhelming for me. I cry a lot over my lack of hair. I can’t even style my hair anymore, because there is nearly nothing left…😢 I have had Alopecia for about ten years 😢 Every day it takes me an hour to make my hair look good without any bald spots to see!😢 But now there is more bald spots than hair😢 I don’t want to cry anymore… But I do. I am a Christian , and I pray that I can overcome my fears about using a wig. I am so so grateful that I found you here ❤ Greetings with love and blessings from Randi in Denmark 🇩🇰 ( You are stunning beautiful!!!❤)😊
Thank you Denise, for in depth information. I’ve been thinking about purchasing a human hair wig, but I’m hesitant to buy my first one. Im a wig wearer for two years, I only wear synthetic wigs. My question is, does human hair wig hot just like synthetic wig? I get hot easy in my head. Or cooler?
Greetings Denise! I think I'll stick with synthetics...!! You are looking so thin, are you doing carnivore? How are you feeling? Love and blessings ♥️🙏
Yes... how often to use the hydrating mask depends on the condition and age of the hair. Blonde hair, permed hair, and budget hair will need deep conditioning more often than darker colors and higher quality. In general I would use it every 3rd or 4th wash or so (provided you don't wash your wigs very often), more often if the hair is feeling dry or tangling a lot... and I like to add leave in conditioner and hair oil once a week or so... spray with some leave in conditioner and then add some hair oil over that.
Hi, Julie! It is! It is one of my FAVORITES right now and I have it in THREE colors (the one in this video is Brown with Babylights, and I also have Bronde Balayage which is my favorite, and Copper Spice), lol. I just wasted $1000 on a very well known brand for a human hair wig which was so awful. The hair was like Brillo, bleached knots were orange, it was a horrid mess. I emailed them they just sent me a stock email saying “oh well”. I have spent $10,000 on wigs over 5 years and will never buy another wig. Tge synthetics are like plastic. Even heat friendly. A mile away they shine and the fibers don’t move like hair. No one gets the density hairline or part realistic. Very few large sizes that are comfortable. I’m just gonna stay with my crappy hair.

I had no idea about this. Thank you for sharing!
Great video and by the when you are wearing color and style is outstanding on you!
I agree that's a really good wig and you look really nice you look like a very young lady
Love the information videos about wigs. It would be good to have a video about what the different parts of the wigs are called.
I wish you would’ve told us what wig you are wearing today and what color. Info please. 😘
It’s Danity and it’s in the description.
This is perfect!! Excellent information!!!
I am doing a LIVE on this topic. So important!! Thanks as always.
Lots of important information!! The wig you’re wearing is beautiful & looks very pretty on you🤗 Great video🙏
Thank you so much 🤗
You've come so far, Denise, since I started watching you about 5 years ago! Bravo!
Thank you so much!! ❤
Thank you for making this video, very informative!
Thanks for watching and taking time to comment!
You mentioned trusted retailer. Who do you recommend, Im on west coast.
Happy Thanksgiving Denise. You look amazing.
Holy moly!!! I am SO grateful for this video! I always love your videos and advice and this one has been so important for me! I have been trying to navigate the human hair world (as I prefer it) but I had NO idea how to figure all this out. THANK YOU.
You are so welcome!
My gosh Denise, I almost didn't recognize you. What's up?
Btw - your videos are great!!! Very informative as I looked for a synthetic wig! Congrats on weight loss - you’re beautiful!!!
Love the wig you are wearing. Could you send a link please?
Which company do you recommend that makes short hair wigs attached to baseball caps. Love your channel!
Thank you for this information 😊 And loving your new background 💛
Hi Denise, thank you once again for this very informative tutorial on caring for a human hair wig and what to look out for when choosing one! I just purchased Danity because it is such a beautiful choice in a human hair wig! I am nervous at the same time. This will be the first time trying a full wig and it’s nerve racking and exciting at the same time! You have given me the confidence to give it a try! Is the wig you are wearing in a brown with baby highlights? Has anything been done with it since you purchased it? I am used to wearing bangs can this wig be altered to have them? Thanks for your help! 😊
So, all the products in the video are for Remy hair only, the oils, etc. thanks, d
so tell me..I have long hair what is the softest and no matting hair to get? And where? What vendor in China
I am new here. 😊
Thank you so very much for all your help with explaining about the wigs.
I don’t have a wig yet…. but I will buy one very soon.
It is just sooo overwhelming for me.
I cry a lot over my lack of hair.
I can’t even style my hair anymore, because there is nearly nothing left…😢
I have had Alopecia for about ten years 😢
Every day it takes me an hour to make my hair look good without any bald spots to see!😢
But now there is more bald spots than hair😢
I don’t want to cry anymore…
But I do.
I am a Christian , and I pray that I can overcome my fears about using a wig.
I am so so grateful that I found you here ❤
Greetings with love and blessings from Randi in Denmark 🇩🇰
( You are stunning beautiful!!!❤)😊
Thank you Denise, for in depth information. I’ve been thinking about purchasing a human hair wig, but I’m hesitant to buy my first one. Im a wig wearer for two years, I only wear synthetic wigs. My question is, does human hair wig hot just like synthetic wig? I get hot easy in my head. Or cooler?
I need a wig with bangs
Such a helpful video. Thanks!!
I like the Moroccan mask for my own hair. Or did lol I might try it on my hh wig then. Thanks ❤
Great video! So who do you recommend for reputable vendors?
You look gorgeous in this wig!
Thank you so much!
Greetings Denise! I think I'll stick with synthetics...!! You are looking so thin, are you doing carnivore? How are you feeling? Love and blessings ♥️🙏
For some reason, the sound quality is not very good on this video - do you use a microphone?
when do you use the hydrating mask
the oil is just used on human hair correct.
Yes... how often to use the hydrating mask depends on the condition and age of the hair.
The wig you are wearing is so pretty. Is it comfortable?
Hi, Julie! It is! It is one of my FAVORITES right now and I have it in THREE colors (the one in this video is Brown with Babylights, and I also have Bronde Balayage which is my favorite, and Copper Spice), lol. It is human hair but more budget friendly than most and it is 25% off right now for black Friday/cyber Monday. Her name is Danity and here is a link (The code THANK25 will save you 25%): invoguemedicalwigsbeyond.com/collections/diversity-collection/products/danity-bob-6x6-closure-lace-wig
You look so young with dark hair color and your new figure. Amazing
Would be cool to calibrate with you. You are very good.
Lighting is 🎉
😙😊❤️❤️🤗
🥰
Get on with it.
