Not Jakes, but Rufes. Jakes are torpedo bombers outfitted with pontoons.

Yep. Took a look in the museum, and they're definitely Rufes.

@@cybereck Weiki Pee------The Aichi E13A (Allied reporting name: "Jake") was a long-range reconnaissance seaplane used by the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) from 1941 to 1945. Numerically the most important floatplane of the IJN, it could carry a crew of three and a bombload of 250 kg (550 lb). The Navy designation was "Navy Type Zero Reconnaissance Seaplane" (零式水上偵察機).
The A6M2-N floatplane (Rufe) was developed from the-------- Mitsubishi A6M Type 0, -------------mainly to support amphibious operations and defend remote bases. It was based on the A6M-2 Model 11 fuselage, with a modified tail and added floats. A total of 327 were built, including the original prototype. The aircraft was deployed in 1942, referred to as the "Suisen 2" ("Hydro fighter type 2"), and was only utilized in defensive actions in the Aleutians and Solomon Islands operations. Such seaplanes were effective in harassing American PT boats at night. They could also drop flares to illuminate the PTs which were vulnerable to destroyer gunfire, and depended on cover of darkness.
I don't think either planes ever carried a torpedo - do to it's excessive weight.

I’m sad both this game and mod have received so little updates in recent memory.. back when this mod came out two and a half so years ago
was the pinnacle and pride of efforts from the community

It could definitely use more updates.

@@shadowninja8011 Killer Fish has not made any of the current mods - so don't expect them to do so in the future. It's been modders that have made the basic game great! BUT it would be great if the could incorporate all the Mods into a new game - of ocoursew they would have to pay the modders....

@@vf-114jock2 you missed what I said.
There has been next to no development of the game in years aside from a few patches and one actual update that I can remember
Maybe once killerfish finishes seapower they will commit additional resources to war on the seas development.
Such developments will also bring modders back hopefully

Now that you have committed - I usually take the L O N G way to Port Moresby - South and East of Tarawa then skim the bottom to Port Moresby. The triangle between Truck - Rabaul- Tarawa was usually patrolled by IJN carriers. Great Job keeping the TF close together - but going throught the "middle' may deplete your cap entirely. Waiting for the next episode with baited breath!!!

I thought about that, but the 800 troops in Port Moresby changed my mind. But it turned out okay as we found a carrier that the enemy didn't feel it necessary to protect very well. I decided against going through the slot, though. I'm not that much of a glutton for punishment.

@@cybereck Don't forget - the IJn is fully stocked. No Coral Sea or Midway to reduce their ships. All the IJN has to focus on is Port M and MB. Most of it's carrriers (IJN) are escorted by 4 DDs unless they are in a TF.
