5 minute Indoor Walking Workout | Seniors, Beginners

- This 5 minute walking workout will get your heart pumping and has many uses. It is a great introduction to aerobic exercise, can be used as a warm up to any yes2next video, or can be a fun, energizing break during the day, especially if you’ve been sitting a long time. It will work your cardiovascular system and also strengthen your upper and lower body. It includes a warm up and cool down.
The warm up and walking workout portion is about 700 steps, more or less depending on your pace. There are 2 rounds of 4 exercises - each 30 seconds:
✅ Front punches
✅ Diagonal reaches
✅ Chicken arms
✅ Heel touches with bicep curl

i weighed in yesterday at 301lb. today is my first day toward prioritizing my health again and i know it must sound silly, but i managed to do this whole workout and feel good after and i could cry! thank you so much for your work making these.

I think that I may be on the road back to positive thinking…. I just did this 5 minute exercise and found out now uncoordinated I am and this from a life long athlete…. But who has done no more than lift a knife and fork for the last year…..plus gain 20 pounds. Thank you 🙏 I’ll be back …..

So glad I found this! I am 62 with a shoulder replacement, recent neck surgery, and waiting for a knee replacement next year. So many "senior" videos (even beginners) expect you to get on the floor and back up again! Love seeing your mom and having the options for standing or sitting! And, yes, I was sweating at the end!

I’m 71 and had double knee replacements in Dec 2020 which was wonderful because I was able to walk without pain but I don’t ‘exercise’ that much so I’m also thrilled to find these 5 min workouts! I did the chair yoga then the walking one and I could feel it! So good to find something that’s possible with limited inflection! 😊

I just recently discovered your workouts on TH-cam and I'm so excited. I have been too sedentary since retiring and have packed on the pounds. So I've started today with new motivation to do these exercises with you. Five minutes was a stretch for me, but I followed along. I really enjoy you and your mom's comments during the exercise and how easy it is to follow what you are doing. I'm looking forward to getting healthier and more flexible as I will start the last year of my 60's next month. I want to head into my 70's next year with a healthier, more fit and strong body. I’m 71 and I just finished doing this and the chair yoga one before it and I thought it was very doable! I have wanted to start some sort of exercise but nothing seemed to be the right fit for me until now! Thank you so much for the way you calmly instruct on what to do next! I am a fairly healthy 77 year old. These exercises are great because I am challenged at the same time am not overwhelmed trying to do things my body cannot do. I plan to follow this for the next 30 days at least

I enjoy this short workout. With the advent of new health issues, I can no longer do a longer workout. However, I found that I can do this 5 minute workout several times a day and feel energized without being exhausted. Thank you for this great video!

I had Covid throughout May and most of June 2024. My exercise was nil and now I'm trying to slowly get back to the health and walking I was accustomed to.
I am unable to walk for more than 5 minutes without getting slight SOB so am going to use your 5 minute seated exercises as my baby steps back to fitness.

I am continuing my own personal challenge to incorporate at least 2 - 3 "new to me" workouts in my weekly workout schedule, along with old favorites. I started my workout on Friday with this one, which I had not tried before, as a warmup, followed by two 10-minute old favorites for upper and lower body strength, and ending with your 5-minute boxing workout for cardio (also new for me), plus an extra cooldown. I'm feeling excited and motivated to plan my workouts for the rest of the week now! 🙂💪🚶♀💃

I found your exercise videos on TH-cam just by chance..I was doing several other exercises from this channel during Covid...I saw one of your 10-minute exercise routines, and progressed to the 20 minute..I was hooked. I've just found this routine which is perfect for me. I'm in pain with my back, shoulders and knees so i am very stiff through lack of exercise. 2nd day doing this video. Going to do my best to keep going😊

I was searching for a free program to help me. I'm down 100lbs but am stuck and need to lose 70 more. I can't really exercise like others as i am disabled from severe arthritis and other issues. I definitely need a senior program as I cannot get up from a floor due to needeing both knees replaced and arthritis even in my spine. I also needed something easy on my feet as both feet need reconstructed. I have bunions in both feet due to my feet bones being wrong (something I was born with as my feet have hurt since I was a child). Anyway seen 3 different podiatrists and all 3 said the same, got to go in and reconstruct both feet if I ever want relief. So with needing both feet reconstructed, both knees being replaced, and severe arthritis in my spine and other places... anyway THANK YOU for putting something out there that is free. Something this obese, old lady can do and continue my weightloss journey so I can actually have the surgeries I need.

I am going to have a hip replacement soon. I have gained a few pounds and what better way than to have a quick and gentle 5-minute walk. I did sit for this since it would be better for the old hip and I loved the easy movements. Thank you and will definitely be watching your other videos. ❤
