You could get both tiller throttles to work together with a small bike sprocket and chain. Just put it ideally on engine side of throttle. Might need a small trim to handle.
Dude, I love that outboard place on 50. It is like a museum inside of there with all of the restored outboards. I was hoping that the guys grandmother would be in the video. She is so knowledgeable and she does a lot of the restoration since her husband passed. I love that place!
I drive past it everyday on my way to work but have never stopped by. I saw your comment before I got to that part of the video but I instantly knew what you were talking about when you said "that outboard place on 50" lol. When I was a kid I'd always break my neck looking at all the cool boats when we drove by.
the guy with the outboard shop needs to start a channel , i would subscribe immidiately , as much as i love the rough n ready style of what you do , there's something theraputic about taking an old boat or outboard & making it look new again that i love
Bill Engvall, "Here's your sign"...Throw a couple of golf tees in your pocket... When you need an emergency rivit, slam one in with your "screwdriver, wrenchy thing". Love the channel!
I had a friend who ran out of premix oil. He ran into the house and came back with a bottle. Wound up using his mom’s cooking oil for the YZ. I don’t think I was ever so ready to get back home that day. The oil he grabbed was the one that his mom used for FRYING CHICKEN!!! The smell of chicken frying from his bike was hilarious. Especially when everyone kept saying is everyone cooking chicken today at every stop. I was starving!!!
I refurbished a 1970 aluminum jon boat 15 years ago,no leaks,a lot of work but i used a torch on every rivet and put a west system/epoxy on every one, then sprayed it with truckbed coating.
I stayed at The Ramada Inn at Kill Devil Hills in NC last weekend. The two couples who stayed beside me were from your area. They all knew who you were and liked your channel. I enjoyed their company and glad to have met them.
Luke, I think you could get a third 25 on the transom! But you may need a bit of reinforcing to keep the transom attached.. reminds me of the time we put an Evenrude 35 on a 14 ft Gregor boat that was rated for 15 hp!. Of course you’ll have to rig up some flexi cables so it works with one throttle. By the way the wire hose clamp works better if you put two loops around the hose. And better yet if you know someone who works stringing up telephone and cable tv cables. Their lashing wire is stainless! No rust!
I always love a shop where you can borrow whatever parts you need because you know if they need it bad for something, they’ll just come take it back off your boat.
i can attest... if you get the moisture balance right, the underside of a bush out in the yard is a fantastic place to keep an engine. the moisture and dirt seems to keep the rubber from drying out as quickly. its the same reason i never drain fuel out of my engines. you'll never get all the fuel. The tiny amount that remains will harden up, clog everything and your rubber components will dry out and crack.
They can take my reliable two strokes from my cold dead hands. Imagine buying a four stroke, twice the weight for half the power and twice the maintenence. My 40 year old Gamefisher meanwhile I just need to replace the plugs every once in a while and do the gear oil, with the right mix it will run forever. (Speaking of did you drain and replace the gear oil, it's nuts how many people forget)
@@DustinKeating-yk3vq seriously, I was looking earlier this year, even used ones are ridiculous. I don't get it, they're such simple motors just hooked up to a vertical drive shaft and they pull water cooling from the water they're in.
You know they literally spray oil into the environment? Have you ran one in a trash can? Would you drink that water? Water your garden with that water?
@@peirsd yup don't care. It runs great and I run it rich so it spits more oil, but will last longer. My little Gamefisher doesn't hurt anything compared to the entire continent of India, China, any city in the US like Detroit, etc.
I'm working on a 40 year old gamefisher 15 right now. It's been sitting for 25 years, and I tightened a few bolts and cleaned the spark plugs, and it fired right up
When I saw this I thought. What’s this wild man up to now? Didn’t disappoint!!! To get technical isn’t one prop turn one way and other turn opposite on duel outboards. Hey you’re right that outboard guy should start a TH-cam channel. I’d watch for sure👍
Bro, I just spit redbulll all over the place at “mine shuts itself off”. Had motors like that before. Had a 9.9 with no neutral one time. Get your s**t ready and give her a rip 😂 You’re one of the funniest guys on TH-cam. Glad to see you having fun goofing off for a change!
Might I suggest blind rivets. really had to punch compared to a regular pop rivet, but a 5.5mm drill, a bag of 5.2mm blindrivets and your favoured goop, +5 exp every rivet. works very well.
Came here for this comment. That three way wont work one engine will starve the other till it can suck air right on through unless theres check valves on both lines
My 14 starcraft with one Johnson 25, my removable floors between rear and mid bench, and mid and front and deck in front with just me got 26mph. It's electric start so also a battery. When I first put it together bare boat just fuel tank and battery in back with me was scary, coming back into a head wind thought it would come over on me. Started adding weight forward with deck and then floors and has been a great rig. Like your attitude, keep the experiments coming, great entertainment!
You probably need to increase the pitch on those props. If the engine can hit max RPM with just one engine, you're probably hitting the rev limiters when running 2. An increase of 2" in pitch would probably do it.
I keep a bar of surfboard wax in the Jon boat and chunk some on any leaking rivets. Works great for the day but will melt out in the sun if the boat is dry
So I saw a cool video we’re a person cooked there crab in sprite….😮 an it got me to thanking maybe you could do a a video trying out different methods of cooking crab. Love the videos, keep it up man
Luke I’m definitely glad that you finally did a dual motor setup on a boat for sure!!! I have always wanted to do the same thing but I definitely have not been able to find a couple of the same boat motors to try it let alone even figure out the issue with my 35HP Johnson that I have on my 18’ flat bottom boat!!! Awesome video buddy for sure!!!

That three-way in the fuel system is a recipe for a lean running engine

This brings back good memories of overpowering. A single Evinrude 70 will get that boat right where it needs to be. Just make sure the trim works.

You need a Luke approved Jack plate to get more speed… a bottle Jack comes to mind 🤔
You have to put a sand bag in the bow to keep it from porpoising.
9:14 best line ever!
dang it although that was good, it was not the intended. 19:14 best line ever!
The spark check test methods love it .
Over the winter, you should patch the whole bottom of the boat or you go up and down the runners on the bottom was like some 5200
You should christen it, “Rollin Thunder” and have a subscriber give away. Second prize- a factor dinner with Luke cooked on the exhaust manifold
Or maybe call it, “Smoke Show”
