As a fellow Type R owner (FK8) I totally agree about it being confidence inspiring! At 120 plus, you feel so safe and secure, even going around curves you just know it's going to stick! Absolutely amazing car. One of the GOATS for sure.

I had a 2018 Honda Accord Sport 2.0T in a manual one of best cars I owned PRL catless downpipe custom 3inch Catback exhaust injen intake dyno tuned on a Ktuner stock turbo making 359whp/389tq it was a phenomenal Daily and I hurt a lot of feelings with it Honda platform is so on point

I'm wondering what shifting mods does this have for it to shift so fast? I know it had the hybrid racing shifter, bushings and weighted knob but what else does it have?
I'm looking to get this same shifter set up in mine.

Hey David have you ever thought of reviewing a Calvo motorsports viper. I know you can handle some extremely powerful lightweight vehicles. Do a review on one at some point. I'd recommend having the owner drive it though just cause there is a very high skill floor when it comes to handling one, owner themselves would be the most efficient driver for it. I'm talking rear drive 2500hp turbo vipers on slicks. That'd be a sick review

A nineties Bmw three series can handle over 600 wheel horsepower on stock rods lol

@@henris8367 yes and no. are you talking about the S54B32? It can take it, but the engine life will be reduced, and is it driveable?
Dyno isn't everything. I rather have good power down low for quick acceleration and less power at the top.
I once rode a 300whp Fiesta ST, that was slower in acceleration 1.9k to 3k rpm, in third gear than my stock ST.
Its the Kseries engine that started to be able to take good power without building the engine, but ofc depending on the numbers you are after, you will have to build any engine
@@NjoyMoney or you could slap a couple ebay nagasaki noisy bois on an old 5.3 truck motor and make north of 700hp for like $1200 lol

You're totally right, Off the line it can feel sluggish at times. Honda tuned the FK8 to be way less aggressive in 1st and 2nd. Most tuners will keep it that way unless specifically asked to change it. For the Synchros sake, I left mine tame for those 2 gears. There really no need for me personally

I own a modded fk7 and already in love, fk8 would be the only thing i would trade for.
I get to drive them all since I'm a Honda tech, and I will say, the Fk7 isn't even in the same realm as the FK8. The handling is absolutely ridiculous.
@@dylanandersen9318 i know, that's why i would trade up for and fk8. until then , im more than happpy with my fk7, with some mods (aside of power, i focused on getting more stiffness/stability from it) still a fun af car.
In short: i know it's not close to a fk8, but fucking love my baby

The FK8 is beast fwd perfected and is faster on track than all the awd rivals because of it

I made 450hp/450trq with stock FK8 turbo! I now make 540hp 475Trq with MHI stage 2 turbo

At 5:40 you say it seems like the car gains a lot of power in 3 amd 4 gear, its propably the case actualy, 1 and 2 might be downtuned to prevent it from spinning to much on launches

If it does get AWD, I would buy it in a heart beat. But unfortunately civics have always been FWD and I doubt they would go to AWD :(

That’s awesome power for a stock block my speed can only really get to 400whp I’m sure it bends rods tho cuz usually our cars puts down a lot more torque then hp. I really overlook these just cuz I don’t want to spend that much cash and still be fail wheel drive
