10:38 I love the roguelikes that give you more information than less, like Isaac never really tells you what an item does before you pick it up so it's basically impossible to make decisions without either looking them up or just knowing every item.
Thus game has so much stuff in it. I'll try to explain a few mechanics that showed in this video. 1) Alignment: the game has an alignment sistem (good/evil and lawful/chaotic), some actions influence tour alignment, I.E. buying stuff from the black market moves your alignemnt towards "evil", buying a purging stone from the cleric is considered "good". This is important for the character you played because he gets bonuses for being good. Alignment is also important for some items and for accessing some areas once you unlock higher world tiers. 2) Tipsiness: your max tipsiness is determined by your max health (red hearth containers), I.E. normally if you have 2 max health, you can't have more than 2 tipsiness. 3) Mana: mana draining weapons get +20% damage per mana star, so if you shoot continuously your damage will decrease. Ideally you want to shoot in bursts, allowing your mana to regenerate. If you drain all your mana, your mana bar becomes red and it takes longer to regenerate. Also, after consuming a certain amount of mana, a pickable mana star will appear somewhere. If you pick it, you get a buff that makes you shoot faster, regenerate mana faster and makes your red bar blue again.
Just discovered this game yesterday on accident. Fell in love instantly. One of the best roguelites I've played in a long time. Its up there with Enter the Gungeon and Risk of Rain 2 for me.
Words cannot express how excited I was when I saw my game updating this morning. I put nearly 300 hours in this game from day 1 and eventually just gave up on waiting for any updates. This was well worth the wait.
thank you once again for introducing me to an amazing game, 3rd time now that i've bought a game because of your videos first one being revita second being the void rains upon her heart and now tiny rogues :)
The silver knight in the tavern will mock you if the equipped weapon is Common (gray) or Uncommon (blue). If it is Rare (yellow) or better, he gives an item that can upgrade it. Treasure rocks don't drop bombs.
"Makes you pause and read and I love that" and you've lost me LMFAO. I don't play games to read, unless I'm playing a visual novel or a narrative-based RPG
I have never heard of this game before and I don't particularly like traditional rogue-like games. I watched this entire video and decided to buy the game. I don't know what I'm doing but it's a lot of fun.
It's a crazy thing realizing that something you think of as common knowledge really isn't. I just mostly associate with nerds, who all know what alignment means in this context, so I start to think things like that are obvious, but not everyone has that info. To be fair, there are certainly things I don't know that others would consider obvious. _(My stress levels increased when he didn't buy the thing in the tavern to goodify his alignment, despite having a character that gets bonuses from the goodness of the alignment, but I suppose we can blame the game for assuming it would be understood. XD)_
am i the weirdo for loving meta progession? it keeps me engaged and gives me more replayability if its not too grindy. that being said i play a lot of roguelikes, deckbuilders etc with questionable graphics but i don't think my eyes could handle this for very long.
@@OlexaYT I guess it depends, for the player experience (not including dailies, weeklies and general community made levels) you’d only get 4-5 new gauntlets, a whole new gamemode (platformer) with 4 levels, and a new classic mode level “dash”. Along with 700 something new icons. On the creator end is a completely different story. Geometry dash’s editor post 2.2 is closer to a game engine than an actual editor for a game while also being a makeshift DAW (using sfx trigger) AND having makeshift animation tools using keyframe and move triggers. So id say if you just play the base game w/o trying to unlock all icons, then yeah its less content than tiny rogue. If you play geometry dash for the editor, its literally incomparable. Tiny rogues still goated game rhough
If we take sheer playtime to complete the game, geometry dash would require upwards of 5000 hours to complete due to the absolutely stupid requirements for some specific icons, such as spending 135k attempts, getting 20k stars, getting creator points, etc etc. Tiny rogues is nigh infinitely replayable due to its nature as a roguelike, but geometry dash is so dense in community made content that if would physically take years of beating levels of various difficulties, completing quests, unlocking icons and also making levels since a couple achievements require that.
It exists in most games to waste your time. Make you feel like you’re improving but instead you’re just slowly moving to where the game should have been balanced to. And the most valuable resource in my life is time so I don’t like having it wasted. Tiny rogues does meta prog correctly though
Not impressed. Most roguelites have all the features added to this game this dude has seemingly never encountered before, which makes me think this dude has play less than ten video games in his life.
Gahhhhlleeee jeesh, guys! You & Retro need to stop bitching about meta-progression in games when, in fact, you both can always just choose not to interact with those systems in many of these games... 😅 No hate, by any means. Love both your content, just saying. Happy holidays, brother! Edit: typos 🙃
You’re right, I quite literally just don’t interact with them in games anymore because I actively don’t play any games with garbage meta progression. What tiny rogues is doing here is one of the better systems I’ve ever seen for it. Edit: happy holidays brother
@OlexaYT yeah tiny rogues is legit. Happy to see you come back to the game. &, again, wasn't trying to be negative at all. I'd definitely mention it a lot if it were something that actively got on my nerves, so I completely understand, especially since it's become more the norm nowadays in these games. Keep on keeping on, my man. Complain about whatever you want. I was just being an Ebenezer Scrooge 😅

Not a huge fan of the update, and it doesn't sit right with me that the game is still using so many stolen assets, the update made me lose all my progress and it feels bloated now with quantity over quality.

Tyler just said he like games that requires you to pause and read. Oh nvm, I see the raining lava and lizard human.
And he said "I love that!", missing the "even tho I'm never gonna do any of it" part.

I hope so! ❤

Are you the dev? This game has consumed me like dark souls did when i first played it. I can't stop thinking about this game!
It’s been so cool watching this game since launch and this update is actually so insane I’m going to actually buy a game this year lmao
This game has been great since launch but holy hells this update has been insane so far!!
And to think a single dev did this in a year
Tyler’s robe is the funniest item and it’s actually good too
So true
Such a huge update! The dev should be very proud of the work they put in to this amazing game!

Been thinking about getting this game for awhile. Got it yesterday, and looked up hours later. It's crack.
What? A tiny rogues update? I totally missed that. One of my favorite games recently. Thanks for highlighting this =)

The new update has been amazing, and the even more recent update right after this is also really good, this game needs more attention

this is the only game Ive played the past month and I know I haven't seen everything, its so amazing
This game genuinely slaps so hard, get it if you don't already have it

I've really loved seeing inspirations from different games in other games! Like the title screen really reminds me off the etg title screen
Babe wake up once more, new Olexa series to rival Brutal Orchestra just dropped!!
This game is so freaking awesome, one of the best roguelites out there for sure. Imho better than Hades, Dead Cells etc
Thank you for this video, Chris Griffin.
Adding this one to the list of people I’ve been referred to as
picked up the game after watching your first vid on the game. Ive had an abustle blast playing it. Cant wait to check out the update
You sound like wowcrendor+splattercatgaming it's almost unnerving lol, subbed
I’ll take it
Been looking forward to this update!
Can’t wait to hop on and play this . This game is so under rated
The x at the bottom right of the screen at 13:00 is a secret room btw (use bomb)
Yo, great vid man! Have never heard of this game before, and Im huge fan of roguelikes and bullet hell. Gonna get it for sure!
Nice tiny olenki series
Just learned that the update was out with this video. I cannot wait to play.
Fresh save is definitely the best move given The Immensity from top to bottom now.
Holy fuck, this update looks STACKED.
Oh the updates out i need to play it again!
I know im in the minority here but I personally like having small meta progression is roguelikes/lites
Meta progression (if done well) is fucking awesome
This game is amazing nice to see a big update for it:
The new update seems absolutely insane. Excited to see what all's been added.
This next update is about to be insaaaaane

I can't wrap my head around not liking meta progression... it's literally what I enjoy about roguelites
Why would I play a game any other way than the way the dev intends it to be played?
Homey should rename it "Bigass Rogues"
Glad I already bought it. I'd be drowning in debt if I hadn't.
I wish this game explained how mana works, maybe I missed it but so many weapons use it and I have no idea what it is
Higher the mana you currently have, more damage. Lower, less damage
@@OlexaYT so I should stop firing every second or two to recharge I'm guessing? (No need to reply if that's right!)
Yup!
Cant wait to watchthe next 200episodes of this ❤🎉🎉
Just recently redownloaded this cuz I missed it huge that it got another update rn
They removed hp gain with strength scaling don't know why they did I feel like magic is the only viable thing since you get damage boosts from mana
This game is awesome! :)
OH WAIT THE UPDATE WAS TODAY HOLY SHIT I FORGOT
