Getting asked to limit wand capacity because of UI reasons and then leaving in an extremely small chance for wand generation to ignore that limit is such a power move.
I mean, they could have just added a UI element to handle it. Like a scrollbar or left and right arrows for wands over 26. Also the way the code appears to work by clamping the wand's capacity between 2 and 26 seems to imply that random wand generation can spend its points on wand capacity, then effectively 'lose' those points when the capacity gets set back down to 26.
I've never heard about parries or headshots. Its such an insane mechanic for both. I've noticed damage on the shotgunner, but I always just assumed it was some Noita weirdness or random crit sort of action. Parries are game changing though now since they give me the amazing ability to perfect parry the dragon melee attack and one shot it lol
My dream is finding my own seed with monstrous powder, and then shifting something like acid into monstrous powder. Ive made wands that do quadrillions of damage...but the most dangerous wand I can think of is a piercing circle of unstable metamorphosis that leaves a trail of polymorphine and monstrous powder... THAT is my Noita dream
Ask and you shall receive my friend, I have lots of saved seeds from hours and hours of digging through Noitool. 2588871829 - Monstrous Powder, in flask, at first holy mountain (if you go Pacifist) Seed allows for fungal shifts into the powder for Water, Polymorphine, and the Toxic/poison package. Have fun ;)
I'm not very good at this game, but I always watch your videos with interest. Thank you. Your story about cauldron and fish secrets suddenly reminded me of Finnish fish soups "lohikeitto" and "kalakeitto". I think the game community has already tried thousands of different combinations, but if not, it might be worth trying to look in that direction.
0:51 The “you have all our secrets and we can’t stop you” feels kinda… smug?… nowadays, knowing that the the Eye messages and Cauldron room still completely mysterious despite all of the data mining the community has done, and especially since the devs confirmed the eye puzzles are significant, and aren’t just some little Easter egg or troll.
for getting lava for dense rock, you can use ambrosia on top of a pool of lava and with a flask filled with some freezing liquid, jump in to get some lava in the flask. It is fairly easy to set this up by digging around the lava lake in the first biome to create a small pool. This is the best method I've found.

I don't know if this has been done before, but when you talked about the fish it made me wonder if anything might happen if you brought all the fish too the cauldron (make a fish stew perhaps)?
the Zombie-Minä part reminded me of something kaliuresis showed was possible: kill the player via unloading it, then have kolmi visit that area. That actually truly revives the player after the death screen...
It would have to be specifically programmed in, but I'd think if there was going to be a way to play on after self necromancy it would be in pairing it with the perk vampirism, since vampires in most lore are considered undead. If I was gonna make a secret related to the ability to necro the player character I'd make it happen to a player with the vampirism perk, something normally underwhelming with a little twist. A cool change to the perk as an undead could be percentage based healing when drinking blood, so the perk is actually useful for long runs, but maybe you take damage outside in daylight (which would make a cool synergy with a dark sun in the sky), or maybe you always heal but you have to keep drinking blood like "eat your vegetables" (which would also give a perk I think gets passed on a lot "more blood" some really cool life). If any devs are reading this and you hadn't thought about it, there's a free secret to add, it fits with vampire lore, would work good with existing stuff in the game, and honestly just be really cool.
Ive been sick this weekend and ive been watching your modded noita run and trying to play along with it. emphasis on trying. Thanks for keeping me company fury!
It took 90 hours and hundreds of deaths, but I finally completed my first noita run just a moment ago. Thanks for all the videos on combos and mechanics. Helped a lot, even if the only real answer to Noita is "dodge better" haha
A note about the kantele room giving wand editing: I think it actually depends on either what day you started the current run, or what day you first loaded the kantele room in the current run. I say this because I was doing a long run of Noita Together with a friend and at some point after the 26th, we could still edit wands in there.
Noita is truly a very special game, one that comes every couple of years. The devs amount of passion and desire to share their creation is overflowing!
Been on a huge noita kick since I got my new PC, first time I can play this game lag free…. About the fish: what about the lake/pond fish? Has anyone tried to transport them to the holy mountain? I don’t even think it would be that hard, all you need is a good tunnel. Love your videos man this game makes me feel like a kid again
I only have 20ish hours in mouta and the eye and cauldron puzzles are driving me CRAZY. I can't wait to get good at it so i can run some experiments of my own
Oh man trust me I got over a 1000 hours and the cauldron and eye puzzles have been driving me crazy for this entire year, I even dream about it getting solved by someone lmao😂. Also if you haven't already you should check out dunkorslam and lets suffer together, combined with furys videos the 3 of them have taught me how to not just survive but thrive in noita.
I actually noticed that parrying is a thing quite early in the game but eventually forgot since it's really hard to master. Kicking takes time after the input so it's tricky to anticipate the jumps of variable distances from the enemies. Nevertheless it is possible, but I didn't know it dealt their damage back.😮
I remember discovering headshots on the Dragon and giant worms, I realized I did a bit more damage aiming for the big worm eye or the dragon's head. (IIRC this was prior to the Beta update when I discovered it)
Ok for a literal year in the noita discord people would say parrying was not a real mechanic but I swore up and down that it was real. It didn't make any sense that it would say "block" on the first level when I haven't even gotten a perk...
Watching this vid after the latest one with the solving of the cessation quest, and now learning of the fish/orb mechanic. The absence of knowledge might mean that, you have no orbs of true knowledge. So a new player could find it but a veteran one with unlocks cant. Or maybe it has something to do with those holy mountain fish even.
OMG I'm pretty sure I've found wands with more than 26 slots before but I don't think I realized it was anything special xD I'll have to pay more attention from now on!
I like these videos because they kind of give me something to look forward to. I have no clue what The cauldron is. I have no clue what the eyes are. I have no clue that hell or nightmare mode even exist or how to even get to them them. But now that I know they exist, I'm going to try my best to find them. And I think that's the beauty noita.
I've known about both headshots and parries for a good while since I started my finnish arsonist training, but never knew they were so obscure, I just though people didn't use them because both of them are kind of pointless in a game where either you oneshot the enemy, or oneshot yourself
an idea for the self necromancy: there's some kind of benefit to turning yourself into a zombie and restoring your sentience. Maybe you gain some defense against some type of damage, maybe it shows as a perk. Maybe there's a room somewhere with a chamber in which you could trap yourself and zombify yourself and the chamber heals you.
Ive done a parry Once, on accident lol. But since then it made me want to mess with it more to where i have been messing with tablet kicks and Trying to get that parry again. I didnt know it was a parry actually and i thought it was just a block, when it happened.
I've only just started Noita. I knew about parries because I saw it in another video, which is the only reason I'm pretty sure I got one. I was trying to kick something into an enemy. I messed it up and the enemy got an attack in on me, but I saw "blocked." So, yeah, unless I missed something, I think I got a parry, albeit by accident.
You probably won't see this comment since this is a sortof old vid but i feel compelled to mention that at 0:12, the sheer amazement of those few little mechanics actually made me stop eating my linguini for like 10 seconds, so i had like 4 linguini noodles coming out of my dumbfounded face. I cannot answer why i felt compelled to mention this, but know that this video was super duper cool and im now going on to binge your other ones! does the great chest orb give you a fish? do you only get n-fish if you've ended a run with n-orbs, or do you get a new fish everytime you get an orb you haven't obtained before?
where can I find those new enemies Fury talked about when explained the headshot mechanic (hell shotgunner etc)? Specifically, a video talking about them because I'm bad at this game

This is probably already been thought of and I know you get tons of repeated suggestions for the eyes and the cauldron, heres one anyways tho. Can you move the holy mountain fish around while keeping them alive? and if so what if u moved all 36 fish into the cauldron. Anyways thanks for the videos, always a treat.
Nope. It's literally that the oil stain makes your hitbox thinner and then dropping the stain makes your hitbox wider again, causing you to get partially-stuck in the wall, which triggers the unstuck function. Repeat. I used the water stone in order to instantly replace the oil stain. Otherwise, you have to spray water (or anything else really) on yourself until the oil stain is washed away.

In my experience with modding allowing you to change the number of slots, the UI fits a max of 30.

The mage is slick and oily so it slides better from bullets and the like...
