they mei playmaker around 12:00, its good to see that in action and get commented on. Often I will take offangles and feel like i need to get kills for it to be worth it, but to see how it changed the course of the fight without a single kill, it makes alot more sense to me now. I always get lit up when i offangle with ashe and it sucks.
Was aim even discussed here? If so I missed it. Is it just cause they are playing Mei and the joke is Mei players can't aim? I don't really mind the title/thumbnail because I love Emongg and I'd watch regardless, but I definitely was curious to see a discussion of how aim effects the ability to climb. I'm sure at some point bad aim will put a limit on your rank, but I suspect bad aim can *mostly* be offset by better decision making.
I think there was a point where he was making that you don’t really need to light up the kill feed to make a play as long as you keep the pressure you should do fine maybe that’s what he was trying to explain
Yeah around 10:54 for the next minute or two he talks about it. The mei wasn’t hitting really good icicle shots using good aim but yet still won the fight for his team.
@@zjohn11 Yeah I guess that may be what the editor had in mind, but IDK. I rewatched that part and I don't really see it as fitting the title/thumbnail. It isn't really a discussion of climbing with poor aim. Plus, is the Mei really missing her shots in that part? It looks completely normal to me. Not all of the right clicks landed, but her aim seemed just fine to me. Maybe that's just cause my aim is also bad, but I think Emongg was more talking about how positioning and threat creates space and opportunities, even if it doesn't result result in killing blows. In that part the Mei is taking a rather passive playstyle, rather than peaking to spam damage. I think that is the thing Emongg was talking about and praising, because a Mei to the side like that creates an incredibly dangerous situation for the enemy team. The first person to walk through that choke is getting walled and killed. Someone just wanting to look cool in the kill feed might have been constantly poking out to try and hit some headshots, and just gotten killed causing their team to get rolled. Emongg is saying that playmaking doesn't always involve your name in the kill feed. That Mei was doing great work, but in a way that her own team is unlikely to even notice. IDK, I see where you're coming from, but to me this isn't really an example of someone that can't aim being able to climb. It wasn't a question of whether the Mei could aim or not. Even if she had godly aim, she was probably still most useful as a threat off to the side rather than trying to land headshots.
@@Sean_Barry good aim just makes it easier. The title says how to climb without good aim and the mei in the choke is a good example of that. The mei was using position and threat to win the fight rather than aim. It would have been easier to just peek the corner and get a pick but it’s still possible to win without doing that. What I took away from this is it’s not necessarily about hitting shots with good aim it’s more about position and being the distraction/threat.
Does anyone else think it's funny how chat has been telling Emongg for the last 6 months to just run into the backline as tank, and now it's the preferred way to play at the highest level?
I don't see anything funny about it, only some irony, and I don't trust your level of observation enough to think what you're basing that statement on is based on actual events and not just your feelings.
Also this is how doomfist/Winston mains have played those tanks since ow2 started, theyve always been squishy divers, so Im really struggling to figure out why you'd comment something so ignorant.
I love being the support getting dove. Very fun. Makes for intense matches where my cooldown management and utility usage gets greatly challenged. Makes it easier to lock in and to feel the impact of hitting shots/cooldowns/having good ults. I also love playing tank now. I used to be a tank main in ow1 but haven't consistently played tank in ow2 unless my friends ask me to. Recently been having lots of fun on dva. I've been able to win games against counters. I love when im able to dive their backline for a quick kill on a support or dps that has been giving my team trouble and still be able to turn around to peel for my backline before the enemy gets a pick. I can admit that sometimes my team just isn't able to keep up with how i play which is a struggle to adjust to BUT easiest fix i have found is to tell my supports to just have fun playing dive comps/just dpsing lol Hit plat on support again, got bored, now im shooting for plat on tank. I was D3 on support once upon a time but with all the meta changes and how awful the numbers feel, i just can't enjoy the role unless im dps ana or playing zen/lucio. Sometimes mercy/moira if i am under the influence. Almost 1k hours in comp too. The grind never stops 😎
Definitely better at Mei than Reaper. I felt like they had too much time where they were doing nothing and had very little impact as Reaper. They were much more aggressive and playmaking as Mei.
If you have good positioning, and don't die much, that's really the only trade off to aim, even then though, I shot up like 2 and a half ranks when I found a sens I like and my aim got better.
I swear, every Reaper I see telegraphs their ult. If you are wraith forming into a team, they instantly know you are going to ult. Use it as an escape tool, not an engage tool. Weird seeing this in Diamond ngl.
man i keep getting all mechnic dps in my games EVEN THOUGH IM PLAT 1 when i play tank and i would very much like to have dps like these. These dps are 100 times better than pharas that hit every shot but charge straight in through the open into a soldier.
Im sorry why is this title referring to the meis aim if she did well and had good aim? Very confused but alright. Maybe it should be “Playing angles wins team fights”
it's a key issue that the submitter talked about; they say their aim isn't very good so they pick heroes like Mei who is less aim intensive AND they want to keep improving. hence, the video is about the other ways to improve on dps and about how to climb besides "click on the enemies better" just because emongg doesn't explicitly discuss the issue doesn't mean the video isn't about ways to climb that have nothing to do with your aim. if emongg is talking about positioning, for example, improving your positioning is a very important key to climbing that has nothing to do with your aim
also, a version of this title that WOULD be clickbait is "emongg talks about why aim isn't the only way to climb" because that is deliberately misrepresenting the content of this video. emongg doesn't talk explicitly about that in this video, so it would be click bait. but a title that is simply asking the question is not clickbait because the question is answered in the video, just not through explicit words from emongg's mouth. there is a meaningful difference.
It's like playing DPS support but in the end it's what makes the difference, they carried their team without showing on the scoreboard
Couldn’t decide between “switched” and “swapped” and it came out “swatched”. Same, bro, same.
At 1:35, that wall… Emongg; “It was a little delayed” but homeboy used it off cool down lol

That Orisa was SICK of that Mei every time Orisa killed her it was nasty
xD sounds like me every time i fight a mei as tank
8:18 You didn't make up a word, the tank was just creating a swatch of knitted fabric.
3:10 I bit my inner cheek by mistake and slammed my table and he says this lol

Thanks emongg for the little tips and tricks for not playing reaper as tank buster any more and it’s helped me so much

Their Mei is good, their reaper they had so much downtime and poor positioning/planning and movement.
Emongg's hair is wilding today also
ALRIGHT SO 🤭📢
Can we talk about how godlike this wall was 12:24

Because the person playing specifically mentioned the fact that their aim isn't great in their intro.
And what is wrong with the aim?
In 2 mins in and I can already tell this player has a really bad jumping habit.
No wonder their aim is bad.
Idk why people can’t figure this out.
Just play moira LMAOOO
Its possible but not on moira that hero doesnt exist i swear dont fact check me on that
is this what diamond looks like in NA? nuts. no wonder frogger can get consistent top 500 on 180ms
