I don't think everyone shooting the sym turrets is a hot take at all. Once got berated in QP for asking other people to help with it because it was basically all I was doing each encounter, so they didn't wreck me and my mobility as genji, and I was getting no value.
Agreed, I think it’s a ‘whomever has the opportunity to do it should do it’. I try to melee if they’re close or blaster them if they’re a bit further away as mercy when my team doesn’t need anything else. Especially when pocketing a flying hero and there’s no hitscans, just float for two seconds and snipe all the turrets from wayyy up in the sky since I can run away fast with my short ga cooldown.
as moira no turret is safe from my suck absolutely hate seeing those things just allowed to sit there all game and they'll always get me when I'm low on health and fading away if I don't
On Sym turrets: If I’m playing in a group of friends, we’ll typically designate a person to destroy turrets. The characters I mainly play (Moira, Doom, Pharah) are sometimes difficult to destroy turrets with. (Moira it takes a few seconds of sucking, Doom is hard because of the spread of his bullets. It’s not like I won’t do it, but I have a friend I play with all the time who is usually on Cas, Reaper, or Sombra. He can destroy them a lot faster, so I usually rely on him to spot them and get rid of them.) I’ve started playing Widow again after putting her down in my quest to become a Moira OTP, so now I’m usually the one spotting turrets and shooting them for my team. The beauty of playing with comms or people you trust is having a plan for things like that. Same goes for other deployables like Illari’s pylon.
this isn't the point of this video, but i want everyone to notice the ana at 11:39 just run to the point even though they could have stayed back with literally 0 punish. the first rule of playing Ana (and any support with range) in last fight overtime is to make the other team have to choose between contesting the cart and going for you. if you let them do both you make their life a lot easier. it is your teams job to stay on the cart in the context of a 3rd point OT push 10 meters from the finish, don't let the gravity of the cart pull you in. it happens to the best of us, but the better you get at fighting it the more of these fights you can pull out a W
Maybe this is a min/max thing, but I feel they got a bit of tunnel vision on Sym and could have had higher turret uptime by re-placing/rotating turrets. Even if the enemy doesn’t destroy them, the first time they get hit they will know where they are and destroy them on their next try. Or they will try a different route. By changing up the positioning of the turrets you keep the enemy team in that state of frustration and not knowing what to do, and they often stall out. I’ve done many full holds on first point payload maps doing this. Also playing corners and realizing shield tanks are juice for Sym. Hold corner, charge beam on their shield, poke thru them a bit and fry their supports who thought they were safe. Retreat after one pick unless you have full support from team to clean up.
Hi!! thats me up there and i wanted to say thank you for your time Emongg/mods!!! you make great content keep it up!! :D (ill let you know on twitch if i hit plat) And again thanks for the advice!!
in reference to throwing sym turrets at a widow to create a small amount of cover for yourself... one of my favorite plays on widow will forever be the time i shot all three turrets midair as the sym threw them and then got the sym after, too. both me and the sym were surprised lol
another Old school tip from Overwatch 1, Get a symmetra to chuck down a teleporter when your orisa ults Aim for the middle of the enemy team when she hits 200% press F to win.. Boom team kill.
“Everybody thinks someone else will destroy the sym turrets so nobody ends up destroying them”. Unless I’m playing her and then they get turret aimbot and immediately destroy them. 😂
Played on 200 ping? While landing those shots? How? Like literally how I mean? I used to play with an old router that would sometimes give me 50-60ms, and even at that range I already felt some lag. Then in the worst cases my ping would rise upwards of 80ms, and at that point the game was literally unplayable. I mean, im pretty sure that the game would even automatically dc me in those horrible ping cases. Am I missing something here?
its a bit weird but its playable, the only thing i can say that its kinda annoying is when im playing cass/ashe and i hit more than one shot it takes some time to register the dmg so i keep shooting even if i killed the target, and you need to read/predict things :P
I play on 240 ping a lot (Australian playing on US server with mates, almost never my own) and honestly? You get used to it. I have to ult/use cds about a second or two earlier than I would on regular ping, and treat most hitscan heroes as very slight projectiles. Its doable with practice, never that comfortable compared to low ping ofc but yeah. It sounds like you were experiencing packet loss and possibly rubberbanding (ping going up and down) rather than just a steady connection with high ping. Rubberbanding is god awful and not functional, but this persons probably just on a server distant from their country, and their connection otherwise is fine.
Twitch chat made me unsubscribe. I watch YT cuz I can choose not to look at the 5 y/o chatters on YT; you putting Twitch chat under your cam makes me watch you less.
The back to back play with the flick on Genji then the melee when he was in ult must have been infuriating. 😂

3:11 sum turret also blocks high noon. I saw a video on Reddit
My guess would be a Sym turret can't block Illari ult, because the ult doesn't collide with players, only map geometry.
THE BOTS IN THIS CHAT 💀
Even bots enjoy emongg's content 😂
Hah lol
i miss the days where sym turret blocked rein shatter
I miss the days where sym had a shield on cooldown that blocked rein shatter.
If there laggy then they might get accused of cheating bc the replay is sometimes jittery

Accused of cheating twice . . . Thems are rookie numbers . . .
do all vod reviews make it to the channel? i want to submit my vod but i’m worried i’ll miss the review if it’s only on stream
why be afraid? if it gets there it gets there if it doesnt it doesnt. no need to care that much
Thanks emongg I used to be a hardwire support player but your vids made me wanna try in season 7 now I'm a tank main. Still not touching dva tho🤢

fr my team never destroys sym turrets but god forbid i have a sym turret that lasts longer than the time it took to attach to a wall
“Use your walls!!”
ALRIGHT SO!!
ALLLLRIGHT SO!
ALLLLLLLLRIIIIIIGHT SO!
Only WHO can destroy Sym turrets?
you have selected you, meaning me, which is wrong, the correct answer is you

Sounds more like packet loss, was it a wireless router? Hard-wire is always next to no packet loss.

Amazing. I love it when world’s collide.

All that hyping up of the Sym turrets... One of, if not THE, worst abilities in the game.

just avert your eyes? twitch chat takes up like 10% of the screen, no-one's forcing you to look at it.
