Welcome to our new TAIWAN FOOD series! We will be highlighting the best street food in Taiwan, traditional Taiwanese food and more! We are starting this series in Taipei - and today we are showing you some of the most famous restaurants serving local Taiwanese food. We explain the current situation while visiting Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall.
First meal a classic Taiwanese breakfast at Yonghe Soy Milk King. The open restaurant gives it a street food vibe. We ordered: salty soy milk (with vinegar, dried shrimp, pork floss and green onion), steamed meat bun (pork), soup dumplings (xiao long bao), peanut rice milk (mi Jiang) and a youtiao shaobing (fried cruller within a baked pastry). All of these breakfast items can be found in traditional breakfast shops across Taiwan. This place cooks everything fresh before your eyes. (150 NTD / USD $5.02)
To digest, we explore the nearby Da’an Park. There are plenty of animals that roam the park and we try spotting as much as possible, including: Squirrels, birds, dogs and more. We also take part in various park activities, like the painful foot massager pathway.
Next, we walked to a famous street food stall serving radish pancakes. These are made by stuffing dough full of shredded radish and green onions and deep frying them. Served piping hot with optional sauces, there is no seating, so you need to eat it street food style. (30 NTD / USD $1.00 each)
We’ve always wanted to try traditional Taiwanese desserts and pastries and we knew one of the best bakeries to get it was at Chai Te. The pastries are made fresh on site and almost everyday they sell out of items. We bought: Taiwan Pineapple Cake, Strawberry Cake, Egg Tarts, Green Onion Nougat Cracker, Mooncake and Trinity Q Cakes (Total 318 NTD / USD $10.63). We washed all of those delicious pastries down with Taiwanese Oolong tea.

2 - Yonghe Soy Milk King 永和豆漿大王

    3 - Da’an Forest Park 大安森林公園

I admire their culture of excellence, i mean the street food shows that vendors are responsible and conscious of food quality. Went to china and have to watch where i step with all the spitting hapoening everywhere. The streetfood is also something you cant trust, i think its because their plenty over there they think a few illnesses and deaths wont hurt. They just seem to not care about people with the way they handle food. Respect in food handling says a lot about peoples values in general

I love Taiwan and thank you for showing how they are doing right now. I'm super happy that they're stable now and I hope the same thing for other countries as well like the Philippines. I hope everything will get back to normal before the year ends so Taiwan will re-open for tourists. I wanted my parents to see their beauty and kind people.

What a sad country , the Philipines I think is the richest in terms pf resources and skills but poorest in terms of values. Loving the family to much makes everybody think only of themselves and their families. That is why it is so corrupt

Glad you are safe and back in Taiwan! We spent three weeks there in January and had a blast. We watched a lot of your videos before going and loved them. The food and night markets were an absolute must. The memorial was quite crowded when we went, so you are lucky to see it without the crowds. Not sure if you have been to Penghu or not, but I highly recommend it, and you can see it all in a few days. Amazing beaches, towns, and scenery. The locals thought we were a bit crazy for swimming on a chilly 65 degree day....but that was balmy coming from Idaho in January...lol

Don't know if they are the best, but if they can pull off being COVID free that means tiawanese are SERIOUSLY SMART people , who know how to follow rules and work together for the Greatness of their country, Its a Pity that other countries couldn't pull this off! Its not the country but the people that i respect! GOOD JOB!...NB: Dont know exactly how these people filming this video got there, But keep foreigners out, keep your borders close , it's those tourist /outsider's, who's going to infect your country! BE SMART you cant have your cake and eat it too! If you going to open up your economy with tourism, you wiill get infected there just no way around it!

OMG.. Luke, in 2014 i visited Taiwan for 4 days for work.. And it was my 1st ever overseas traveling. I extended 1 night by myself.. I myself went to CKS Memorial Park, the hotel guy recommended ChiaTe to buy something to bring to Indonesia.. I bought some pinaple tart, and my fv was wife cake 😂 i post it in my Instagram too.. And i watch this video, like a flashback.
