    🔴Do you think these problems are common among all trucks, or is the Ridgeline "unique"? 🤔

    First world problems. It’s a truck for people who need a truck once a year. It’s an suv with a bed, and it’s meant to be that. It’s not going off road, it’s not towing, it’s not hauling. It’s going to the shops or the soccer field. Stop being so negative with a car that perfectly meets the needs of the people who buy it.

    You got me! I watched this ridiculous video. I LOVE my 2023 and use it for work in rural and Native lands with rough roads. I need a great highway vehicle with moderate off road and payload capabilities and the Ridgline is perfect. I love the simplicity (elegance) and proven drive train, also that it is well designed in many subtle aspects. I've already burned through three 4x4 trucks in 20 years, a stiff ride with expensive maintenance and repairs for capabilities that I rarely needed.

    I purchased a 2023 Ridgeline RTL about a year ago and my only complaint is it needs cooled seats and a better radio other than that its a great mid sized truck. Its not made for rock crawling or mud bogging but when is the last time you did that with a new truck and if you did you have more money than brains. The ridgeline will cruse on the interstate at 90 and only turns 2K and get 24 mpg, it redlines at about 6800. With the 9 speed it gets the most out of the 280 horse V6 it never feels like it doesn't have enough power. It also rides and handles well, it doesn't have a tow mode but it does have a sport mode that can be used like a tow mode if you know how to drive. It has tons of room in the front a back, it also has a trunk that's big enough to get it. I'm also glad that people think the Ridgeline needs to be something it is not because you can get a real good deal on one, that's another reason I went with it.

    • @watchmanonthewall14
      @watchmanonthewall14 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I like the truck very much. The only thing I would change is to bring back the traditional gear shifter. I'm not a towing expert, but I currently drive a crossover with an engine and size similar to the Ridgeline. Mine did not come with tow haul mode. I simply went to U Haul and had a hitch and a controller installed, and then added a tranny cooler. My unit tows 4K fairly easily, and I've watched several Ridgeline videos where the owners easily towed 5K, even through mountain passes. Enjoy your truck!

    2023 Ridgeline sport here. Honestly not a bad choice for someone who's not into trucks. Traded in my Xs 2019 CRV for this just to get her off my credit line and I ended up liking it more than I thought. Considering I had to get something bigger and practical than a 2016 modified 370z for my toddlers day to day adventures I would recommend it as a dad truck. Especially with the built in cooler/trunk trips to the beach have been nice. Also My fellow single dads/gents get one without the center arm rest in the way 👍 you'll thank me later.

  • @sleepyboiradio9834
    @sleepyboiradio9834 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    This video is misleading and seems to have been created by someone who dislikes the Ridgeline. First, the truck's bed payload capacity is 1,600 lbs, and it tows 5,000 lbs comfortably. While I agree it could use more power, it's still quick enough in sport mode. For comparison, a brand new Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro accelerates from 0-60 MPH in 7.1 seconds, while a base model Ridgeline achieves this in 6.2 seconds, thanks to its i-VTEC J35 engine paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission that allows for paddle shifting.
    I own a 2021 Ridgeline and often take my family on long road trips to RV parks without any issues. The truck bed is covered by a Diamondback cover and features a Yakima low-profile ladder rack for my Yakima Deepspace box and bikes. Additionally, I tow a Winnebago Micro Minnie 2100BH RV trailer that sleeps up to five people. I hope this clarifies any confusion stemming from the biased perspective of this TH-cam video.

  • @nickk4021
    @nickk4021 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Bro seriously everything you have mentioned here cosmetics except the drivetrain. Which honestly at the end of the day if a truck doesn’t have a V6 or larger you are either going to be blowing engines or burning transmissions. Now if you’re someone that buys a new truck every 3-5 years maybe that works for you. But for someone that is looking for longevity, this truck will last. I owned a 2006 for 10 years and the only major thing I did to it was change the timing belt. And I used that truck for more than just daily driving. I used it on job sites, hauling all kinds of things and pulling a 21’ bass boat on the weekends. So again I say you are mentioning cosmetic issues. I thought this video was going to show me real world problems. Your video makes me want to buy a new one even more than I did before watching it.

    I have had many Honda Ridgelines......over the years. Starting with GEN 1 back in 2005 or 06-when ever Gen 1 hit the scene.
    Ergonomics, gear shifts, towing, "the feel of the engine" , the engine being "long in the tooth" rock-crawling was never a consideration. Reliability was THE consideration!!
    When you live in a very rural area and you are miles and miles and miles from hospitals and the nearest Walmart-- you need a reliable truck: the Honda Ridgeline is what you need.
    Your argument seems to be that of a man who likes to engage in highly abstract debates for very specific reasons: money, ego.....who knows...?
    If I had to tow 8,000 lbs every other day or if I did hard-core off-roading or if I cared about rock-crawling: Would I buy a Honda Ridgeline? Of course not!

    Best vehicle jeeps ever made in my opinion. get your hands on one of those you'll never look back

    For everyone going to the comments early, for every item on this list except for two, he just said the design choices were boring. The exceptions were a complaint that there's no offroad mode selection (but he was wrong, it does have that feature), and he was upset that the tow and cargo capacities were lacking (something to be expected on a unibody design, but the ridgeline still matches most of the midsize segment. He then misquotes another truck's tow capacity). All in all, the guy really didn't do his research before making this video, he just looked at a few pictures and spitballed a few superficial things to complain about.

    The Ridgeline is due for an update, but it is still the best everyday driver in this class. I hope the next generation continues to let practicality take the lead in engineering the vehicle.

    I am so glad the comments did not disappoint! Virtually all of the points are dead on arrival. I don't want the most powerful engine, I want a reliable one. I don't want the most extreme 'brute' warthog-inspired styling. I don't want that kind of attention. The Ridgeline is the most honest truck on the market and I love it!

    Not everybody buys a truck for offroading. Some people just need a reliable truck that can pull a small trailer , get you around in rain, ice, and snow without pretending you can go rock crawling. No rocks in Louisiana.

    Out. I can't watch the rest of this. We know it's not a truck. It's a car with a bed. And a very smooth ride. You didn't mention that. If you want to bash something, bash the PRICE. They are WAY overpriced for what you get.

    Yikes, yikes, showing your young age. You have been brain washed by Apple, every new model has to have a zillion new features or it's oh so last week. It's not a Corvette, it a comfortable pickup, it was not built to be exciting, it was built to be reliable, quiet and functional, not a drag race vehicle.

    Silly, hyperbolic video by the Ridgeline isn’t a truck tuber crowd. None of his complaints resonate with actual owners of this truck and he missed the 3 that matter but you can live with them - it needs another 2-3 inches of ground clearance, larger wheel wells for larger tires, and a solid front recovery point. I’ve owned this truck for 4 years, drove it all over the Southwest. It’s not a rock crawler but off roads just fine otherwise. It’s very comfortable, economical, handles great in all weather conditions with the right tires, and I’ve not had a single issue with it in 4 years. Finally, 70% of this truck is built in the US. Ask owners about this truck and ignore TH-camrs.

    I have a 2019 touring Ridgeline, I completely disagree with everything this video says. I just bought out the lease because I absolutely love it and haven't had a moments trouble with it at 125K's! I have to say that this apears to be what is called reverse marketing by the Ridegline competitors.

    It's always the best to buy your needs. If your idea of need and practicality is flying up mountain sides in a 40k pickup terrorizing mountain goats, so be it. Here in the mid-west, we need vehicles that are dependable in -25 ' weather on snow and icy roads. I drove a Chevy Colorado and really wanted to like it. They are a very nice-looking vehicle. It was very cramped inside and the engine was too noisy inside the cab for comfort. The dash did light up like Time Square if that is important to you.
    My 2024 Ridgeline RTL is roomy, comfortable, and quiet inside. The engine has plenty of power to pass anything you need to anytime you want to. It has the most storage available of anything in its class. you can lay a 4x8 sheet of plywood in the bed and it's carrying capacity is not that much less. If you need to tow 8k or more, you should consider a full-sized pickup. It is over-priced and the 9sp transmission is a little too busy. But so is the 8sp. The collision mitigation and adaptive cruise control is overly sensitive. I would like to see Honda release a patch, but they rarely do anything unless they are forced into it. Like all vehicles today, they are over engineered. I don't care for the cylinder mismanagement, or the stop start but there are aftermarket kits available to take care of those. I'm not wild about the console electric shift, but even the Corvettes and the Lambros have that.

    Tacoma, a 4-cylinder with turbo gas mileage, isn't much of a huge difference from their v6 engine.

  • @zcallis1
    @zcallis1 15 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    You don't get it. Nobody wants the turbocharged, higher horsepower in these vehicles. They want a detuned, naturally aspirated V6 or V8 that will last forever.

    Wow - pretty meaningless video review. There is way more to like about the Ridgeline than there is to dislike. Most of us don't need a beefy off road monster, when 99 percent of your time is spent on paved roads. I test drove a 2024 Tacoma and Chevy Colorado before I drove the Ridgeline. I don't need to look macho. I chose the Ridgeline - for me everything about it beat the other two. Smoother, more comfortable for me and especially for backseat passengers. The bed is actually a little longer than the other two and the in-bed "trunk" is awesome! I threw a bed rack on it and I can haul lumber and long kayaks. I love it.

  • @wendywatkins347

    your video is pretty negative. Not all trucks need to go off Roading and have the same purpose. The Ridgeline is a great vehicle! It pulls our two person camper just fine and carries our kayaks in the back. I certainly don’t need a big old truck A.k.a. gas guzzler,for my daily needs. The Ridgeline is also very comfortable and we have the black edition and I think it looks superior inside And out. Also being a generation X, we don’t need a humongous screen resembling a TV in our vehicles lol. This certainly is an opinionated video. And you know what they say about opinions.

    it is obvious this person has not owned or driven a ridgeline i have two a 2017 and a 2019 almost 190,000 mile between the two. while not perfect i do hope HONDA does not lision to this review and total will mess the ridgeline up with a 4 cylinder turbo high maintance issue. while a slight power increase may sound good it is not needed. i do wish the transmission shifter was in the 2024 i do not want a fancy dash i like simple and eaSY. THIS REVIEWER NEEDS TO FIND BETTER LINE OF WORK

    Honestly, I loved my Ridgeline - a fantastic “truck.” However, I did not love pulling up to the gas pump!
    I replaced it with a PHEV and mostly plug-in and drive cheap, but can still run HEV for longer road trips.
