Based on everything he's said in the past couple years since changing his stance a little on a return to the ring, I could see him doing something with ROH just for the hell of it. And I think New Japan is a real possibility for the quality of opponent they could put in front of him, and if there's one thing he legitimately seems to regret about his wrestling career, it's that he didn't really get a chance to shine in Japan.
And I know a lot of people think AEW could pull it off (at one time I did too) but everytime I hear him philosophizing about what he thinks pro wrestling should be, it's the antithesis of what they're doing. He hates excessive high spots, false finishes in every match, and guys no-selling stuff that should kill em. And that's AEW's whole identity.

And there are no wrestlers I'd be interested to see him go against because all of the wrestlers today suck minus AJ, Bryan, Samoa Joe, etc, but we've already seen Punk go against all of them, and AJ hates Punk. Punks time has come and gone. His best feuds were against Cena, Rock, Jericho, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, etc. There's no one currently in WWE, AEW, or ROH that I would care for him to main event a pay per view against, and I don't care about any of the NJPW stuff.

Exactly, but smarks don't get it. You see no one can move a needle because no one stands out. I mean if a guy like Punk can beat Cena and Cena can beat someone like the Rock then it makes the Rock look weak rather than Punk look strong. They should have a physique check before people can get into the business.

CM Punk vs Samoa Joe 3 in AEW, that would be cool, if AEW wasn't so meh talked by and booking wise. If Tony Khan was a business owner instead of a fanboy, he would already have a working relationship with CM Punk, instead of hinting at signing him, which pissed him off. Out comes Jim Cornette and cuts a promo on Paul and introduces the return of CM Punk (Paul Heyman looks like he’s seen a ghost) and stands alongside with Cornette and Roman/Paul and Punk/Cornette stare eachother down as SmackDown! goes off the air.
