Hey everybody, I just now became a Patreon sponsor for this channel because I am so impressed with the accuracy and quality of what she's producing, and the fact that she uses ZERO fakery in her work (what you see in the end is exactly what she cooked, and no stolen thumbnails of stock photography). I would like to ask everyone to go right now and become one of her Patreon sponsors, even if it's just one dollar per month, because we need to support real quality content on TH-cam, and Souped Up Recipes passes all the tests with flying colors. I'm probably going to increase my support to the next level soon, as I just learned of this channel last week. Keep up the excellent work, young lady. Very impressed.
I did recently also. Her recipes are well thought out and presented excellently. I’ve used many to rave reviews. Definitely an effort worth supporting.
My mom got pork chops the other day (she loves pork) and I'm not a fan of chops at all, so she was going to make a stir fry out of it, as she did when we were kids. I'm going to make this tonight while she is at work. I started making my stir fry dishes with celery recently and it makes it taste so much closer to what you would order out. Like many, I can just never recreate that taste of take out! The celery was a huge flavor that I was missing for so many years! I am so glad that I have all of these ingredients in the fridge! This recipe was literally EXACTLY what I was looking for. Thank you so much ❤
I love your videos! I've been trying to improve my Asian dishes (especially Chinese) and I've found that your videos provide such clear instructions. Thank you ❤️😊
I just wanted to let you know that I cooked this tonight and it is delicious.... I'm not even playing....thank your mom for this inspiring dish and thank you for sharing it with us....yummm is all I can say....this will be a dish that I cook a lot... And it reallly is so easy to make...they say the best dishes are the ones with the simplest ingredients.... Really all your subscribers should try this one....Oh my goodness....your the bomb girl...and to let you know I've cooked many of your recipes because you give such good instructions on how to make...keep up the good work!!!!
I have tried several of her recipes. All of them work just as seen in the videos and have become favorites; "in the rotation" so to speak. "Souped Up Recipes" has become my go-to channel for Chinese cooking videos.

Love all your recipes and videos... you have helped me a great deal with your great advice, methods, and tips so thank you very much. Enjoyed listening to your childhood memory cooking this dish when you were a young girl.
Ooo I finally found who is going to teach me real Chinese. I found so many good recipes from your channel ...normally I subscribed. You way of teaching looks so simple and you always explained a little bit of why is that so....BIG HELLO and BIG THANKS from Bosnia!!!
Oh my! This was sooo .. delicious! Took me right back to being a young girl and having my grandfather make this dish. We are not Asian, but my grandfather lived in a very mixed neighborhood during the depression. This was always a filling dish bursting with celery flavor. So many of grandfathers recipes are lost to time, but this one is perfect. Simple, filling, and so flavorful. Thank you!
Thank you for this recipe! I've cooked this now a few times for my chinese wife and she appreciated it! Only change I've made is to double the salt. Also, since I have a cast iron pan, I switched to cooking the celery part first as the pan gets very messy cooking the pork first. A great dish! Thanks!
Thank you & your mom for this recipe. We thought it was excellent. We believe it was also better because you stressed the really high heat. The pork was our tastiest ever.
This was delicious. I was able to find Chinese celery at our local Asian market. I followed the instructions, and used fresh Kung Pao peppers for the red, with one jalapeno for the green. I will be making this often. Thanks for the recipe!
I bought some Chinese celery for the first time the other day, trying to find a use for it led me to this recipe. I deviated by adding a beaten egg to the marinade and using pickled Thai chile. This is such a good easy dish and I had no idea how delicious Chinese celery was!
Thank you for showing how to cut the celery properly, in thin but bite-size strips! I will make this with chicken because it's all I have this week. I will buy pork shoulder for future stir frys!:)
That was outstanding! I added about a dozen Thai bird chilis with a green pepper. It was the perfect little kick. I wasnt expecting much but with so few ingredients the flavors come out. No heavy sauces or added sugars. I do caution people using Cast or steel woks to go easy on the oil because it becomes self lubricating after a while just like bacon.
I tried it with "Chinese Celery" from an Oakland California "Chinatown" market. Delicious. The Chinese Celery is so leafy! I clipped the leaves and just used the stalks - hope that is the way your mother does it. A favorite recipe now. Thanks!
I always make your recipes just as you do at least a few times, but I noticed that many of your recipes are able to be adjusted. I use the spices in this recipe and the basic idea of this recipe to make all kinds of simple but tasty stir fry. Mmm, always so good, just like all of your recipes. I actually can't stand celery, but I liked it in this video. I substitute in green beans and asparagus, and oh my, it's sooooo good. Thank you again!!!
This is utterly delicious. And so easy to make. I added cashew nuts because I am obsessed with them. I am going to try to find Chinese celery for next time. I’ve made 3 recipes from this channel in the last week. So I bought that wok today. Am excited to try these dishes again with better equipment :)
Quick and tasty. When searching for a pork stir-fry am intrigued by your presentation and took notes. I'm in the learning curve, but will definitely make this again. Thank-you
hello. i just want to say thank you for sharing your stir fry celery recipe, i copied it and my employer said it's super nice 👍, and now they want me to cook again.. thank you 😊😘
Thank you so much for this recipe. I didn't have much celery but had red bell pepper and onions so I added all those 3. I was not able to get the pan hot enough but it still turned out delicious. Thank you so much for this delicious recipe. I like that with your recipes I can use supplies I already have in the kitchen for Chinese cooking, that is. Love that you are providing us with recipes you grew up with. Please keep it up!
I made this last night and it was EXCELLENT! I used 2 small green peppers and a couple Jalapeños. I used cooking sherry and I think that really set off the meat. I bought a really nice pork shoulder and portioned off the rest and put it in the freezer. Thank you!
Wow and how interesting as I planned this recipe last night. I cut my celery about 2 inches long and on an angle and cook it 2 to 3 minutes depending on how much I use. I start my wok on high heat but reduce it to medium high when I'm stir frying. I've eaten more Chinese than barbecue on the grill. I love it so much.
Really flavourful dish! I was bit hesitant bcoz there's not much seasonings but the charred-ness of the pork really gives a lot of umami to the dish! Tq for the recipe!
I made the dish today and it the was sooooo good! She is right that the appearance of this dish doesnt look extravagant but dont let that fool you. Also, I used broccoli instead of celery.
this was amazing. there wasn't i bite of this i didn't enjoy, even getting a whole chunk of garlic was delicious. i'm not even a fan of celery but halfway through eating, i wish i'd doubled up on it! this is exactly why i trust your recipes and will continue trying new dishes.
Thank you for sharing this delicious dish.. I've been making this my go to meal whenever we have pork for dinner.. super easy and extremely good! Keep up the good work 👌👍
Dear Mandy, my husband got your wok and started cooking this and other recipes of yours. It has revolutionized our kitchen - thank you for awakening our taste buds ;) I'm sorry to hear about your arthritis pain. Regular resistance exercise (bicycle being on of the best) can significantly reduce your pain - we've seen this in many of our patients. Blessings your way ~ Anne and John
Awesome recipe! Nice and simple! Sometimes simple is best! Loved that your recipe called for tasty pork shoulder. Best part of the pig for my money. Sometimes people get carried away with spices and the flavor of the pork gets hidden away. Thx u
I'm making this! You are too adorable!!! I might change the ingredients just a tad bit but wow . Stir fry is my favorite, being a vietnamese I eat it a lot
I tried this recipe but I modify it with different vigitable like red onions, mushrooms celerycarrots. sliced carots. and added pinaple saki rice wine to the marinade for the meat it was perfect 👌
