Hi Elley - Just an FYI - the mineral noted as spinel at 11:40 in the video is labradorite feldspar - specifically Sunstone, and almost certainly from Oregon. There are fee dig places in Oregon where you can pick up stuff like that, both the straw colored, the red colored and green colored, as well as the schiller or adventurescence type that is cut into cabs.You know your minerals very well, and I admit I could not have come up with the name for the iridescent form of hematite, but I just thought you'd want to know about that feldspar. (I'm a Mackey School graduate myself)
The amount of parallels this show had with the old ones my club did is so nostalgic. the size of the venue, the personal displays, even the geo cracker station! Only ours used a “geotine” like a guillotine 😂. I would staff the kids section and hand out little free goodiebags. Seeing this video really made me more happy that it happened and less sad that its gone.
That was all cool especially the museum. They were all nice folks and it's a bonus the recognised you. Happy new year. Keep having fun!!

Rock heaven! What a good video. Elley Rocks!,. The displayed individuals personal artwork Crystal amethyst Rock displays was very impressive. These labors of love probably took some decades to construct! I did not see any Star rocks? I mean meteorites LOL. Everyone can use my artwork idea of sprinkling their gold flakes on super glue inscribed holiday cards

Your finally in my neck of the Rocks and I have discovered some of THE BEST Places to overload on Gem Silica, royal jasper, fortification agate, Tiffany stone and Wyatt Earps gold mine is right here also! I'm sorry I didn't message you sooner but I haven't been able to stay current on where you are . I would have contacted you sooner if I knew you were going to be in my neck of the rocks. I'm in Big River, ca. And most of my collecting is done in the Whipple's mountains. That just so happens to be right across the lake from you! I would be most honored to show you my secrets.
We went over to that side of the lake about a month ago, it was pretty cool but we definitely want to get back over there again soon!

Hello Elley my name is Roger and I'm from South Dakota I'm down here in Arizona I'm a rock on but I just don't know where to go to look for agates or garnets I was wondering if you can show me I'll be at Lake Havasu and one of the campgrounds that's free camping for 7 days
My mother in law lives in lake havasu. I am coming for a visit around Jan 25 for a couple of weeks. Are you going to have a group hunt around then ? I would like to go to have an expert for tips.
