  • When we visited Athens we could have stayed with all the other tourists in the central part of the city, but instead we decided to stay where the action is happening!
You see, we stayed not too far from Omonia, a place we were warned is too dangerous to visit at night, yet we had no issues and enjoyed our time.
This vlog seeks to show you that it's not always true what you read online and whilst of course you should be safe, try to give these parts of the city a look too. You may be surprised by what you see and who you meet.
We loved out time in Ελλάδα, thank you for having us.

Try filming the Not So Great Britain.
Athens looks like paradise when compared to any part of the UK except centeal London.

I come from a city often voted the worst place to live in the UK, so it's hard to disagree to be fair 😁🤣

We're from Peterborough, lost out to Luton this year for the worst place in the UK but no doubt we'll get it back soon 🤣🤣 I've not had a chance to visit Glasgow, passed through to go to Fort William recently but intend to visit very soon 🙂

Theres three shootings a day in pittsburgh pa. .a drug needle found or two cab drivers arguing is a lot safer than multiple shootins ,complete city blocks of homeless camps, drug infested neiborhoods, kensington pa. ,race wars. In twenty twenty four. .graffity is in all citys in all states in usa. Greece by far is safer ,but if you look for it you can find it , thanks for your truthfull review , 🇬🇷👍

You chose one of the worst areas to live in, where junkies hang out and unsafe at night. It changes the whole experience , Greece is generally wery safe i have traveled alot there and stayed in some locations for long periods. Good luck with your stay! and do some research on the areas before choosing

We choose to stay here to get a more authentic experience, staying in the touristy areas often leads to a cookie cutter experience and I wanted this channel to document both the good and the bad sides of a city. That being said it was a lot more extreme in the part we stayed than expected, but the locals were equally as friendly so it was a unique experience for sure. We will definitely be cautious on our travels as we was robbed on our first day within an hour of arriving in Athens too so we learned a lot from this trip. Thank you for the comment and positive words 🙂❤️

I must admit, it was different from what I was expecting. But I think that's the age of social media in many ways, part of the reason why we created this channel was to show that the Instagram travelers are only showing part of a story, not once when I saw Instagram were they showing the run down dilapidated areas which paints an unrealistic picture of a place, hopefully this video goes a little towards showing that Athens is a city with two sides. I enjoyed the less touristy areas though I must admit, but we're from a city which is constantly voted the worst place to live in the UK so anything rundown and not as sightly is like a home away from home 🤣🤣

You are British, right? Where is the f in Athens? Greece is a nice place the people not so much.
In Athens you will get ripped off, it is not a case of if and when, but how much.

Haha, yep we're British, we seem to have issues pronouncing our T's over here to be fair (don't even get me started on how we say bottle of water haha!). I enjoyed meeting the people, but I do agree there were many scammers especially in the tourist areas. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂

@@TeamMcGrath I don't know if you are still in Greece. If you are make your way to a beach in the southern part of Greece called Voidokilia Beach. It is probably about a 3 hour drive. But well worth the investment. That is the best beach I have ever seen. Not crowded. The water is crystal clear and it is like swimming in a glass of water.
There are no beach chairs or umbrellas. You have to bring your own, it won't disappoint. If you do go back to Greece, I strongly suggest you visit Crete. No motorcycles on the footpaths and the people are civilized.
