    The rogue version of the Transformer Bar is better than the Kabuki Transformer Bar V4. If I didn't already have the Kabuki Transformer Bar V4 I would buy the Rogue version.

    Bench looks like a tank but too expensive. I might upgrade my Rep Ab5000 with the Blackwing. The Hybrid Power Bar I would get if they offer full stainless. I’m a fan of 28.5mm but aggressive knurl. I have both the Ohio Bar and Ohio Power Bar in stainless. I prefer to use the Ohio Bar but prefer the OPB knurl.

    • @MacStrengthCo
      @MacStrengthCo  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is some good feedback. Bare steel makes an aggressive 28.5 also but not stainless.
      Let me know if you get the hybrid and tell us what you think.

    We now see why rogue historically names stuff so generically😅 Velocidor is pretty corny. I will reserve judgement, but these updates as a whole look pretty underwhelming. Also, congratulations on your recent PR pull, man! 505 is solid! Great stuff!

    I want to see the new pad be available on their 3.0 adjustable as well. I don't really have any interest in a decline bench.

    • @MacStrengthCo
      @MacStrengthCo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Right. I wish the 3.0 was 12" wide. Odd Rogue went skinny on that pad?

  • @Rocket4ce
    @Rocket4ce ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That pad is a double, could have been a homer. That pad needs to swivel a minimum 270 degrees. I just bought the Bull Dog pad with the free shipping the other day.

      Good feedback. How do you like the bulldog pad?

  • @gregors00
    @gregors00 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hybrid bar - bit weird, for people who want a non whippy DL bar maybe? 2X Aggro at home here in Aus (only one that’s all stainless in the country maybe? The local version has black sleeves or chrome). I love it. Boring end caps tho

    • @MacStrengthCo
      @MacStrengthCo  ปีที่แล้ว

      The debate is out on it still. Other companies like Bare Steel and Texas offer a 28.5mm power bar so maybe Rogue wanted something similar?

  • @dirtdog5045
    @dirtdog5045 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Can't wait for the new bench. I like the look of MM better, but to get the thicker handles, it makes it significantly more expensive. Also, I prefer a neutral grip. The interesting thing about that new 28.5 bar is that it's stainless steel and has a 10 on the Rouge F scale, which is higher than their bare steel bars. Their stainless steel bars usually only have a 2 on their F scale. I'm in the market for a new bench, so I'll be grabbing that for sure, and eventually, the new dip attachment.

    • @MacStrengthCo
      @MacStrengthCo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      cool! Good eye on the F scale. This may sound crazy but I've talked to owners of barbell companies and those scales are very subjective and more marketing than anything due to variation in the steel. Stainless isn't even stainless, it's a steel alloy for strength for example. let me know how you like the bench?

    • @dirtdog5045
      @dirtdog5045 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Mac Strength Co. Will do, and I currently have the zero gap to compare it to. I'm curious now that you have the Irwin bench do you still get much use out of your other benches ? How much better is the quality of the steel, paint, and overall feel of the bench ? In other words does it feel significantly more premium to you compared to your rep benches ?

  • @DrDeusExMachina
    @DrDeusExMachina ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The rogue pad is different enough from the bulldog pad. For instance, you can do landline rows and t bar rows which is not an option with the bulldog pad.
    Contrary to rogue’s clear rip off of the UDA. 😂

    • @MacStrengthCo
      @MacStrengthCo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      O no.. let's not bring that UDA copy saga again! I think that consumed my media for a week solid. I agree different applications on the pads.

    I bet the new bench is going to be nice as *&^%. I have the AB-3, so I'm in no position to call someone an idiot for shelling out an absurd amount of money for a bench. For dips, I've been using a flip down safety and weight storage pins. It works fine for me and I have to think it's going to be much more stable than something that's attaching to a single post. Some different handle options, angles etc., might be nice.

    Nice video, love these new and upcoming home gym channels. I have nothing of rogue, everything I own in my home gym is commercial. Space is tight so if I could sell my lifefitness adjustable and ab bench and not sacrifice quality...I'm in. Curious to see how this would compare to the prime bench.

    • @MacStrengthCo
      @MacStrengthCo  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've used life fitness's commercial benches and don't care for them. Very narrow pads and beveled edges are slippery compared to some of the Rogue and Rep benches. I think you would really benefit from checking them out. I'm a huge life fitness/precor fan too all our cardio stuff is from them. The grippy padding might not last as long as the slicker stuff but it's sure nice.

    • @rodolfomedini9931
      @rodolfomedini9931 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just saw the MM post on Instagram just hope they come up with a fair and equitable resolution. What personally bothered me about rogue was they attempted to patent the design, the only part of the design they can legally patent is the 7° handle angle change the rest was created. You can't patent something that exists already especially if someone else made it... It must be novel at least that was my understanding when I took intellectual property but that was almost 15 years ago. I am not a patent attorney or a patent agent so things may have changed.

      It looks like Rogue has the sleeves inserting from the opposite side. That is better in my opinion as the top hole on my Transformer bar is finicky in getting the sleeve in as it is not exactly right. I think Rogues sleeves would be more rigid too with the pin.

      @andersonhirt ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think Rogue wants to get more mileage out of their slinger ecosystem. They've got some similar stuff, but the level of integration Rep has is above and beyond. I'm not holding my breath for a direct rogue competitor (plus, it's cheaper to get a ups setup, and that doesn't limit your racks versatility whatsoever)

    • @MacStrengthCo

    The hybrid bar is definitely a dent against TPB... 28.5mm and agressive knurling ;-)
    I own a TPB and I really swear by it. I love the huge sleeves and the knurl took a while to get used to it (almost thought selling it) but now... That's my favorite one. I always used an axle when I've been trying to spice up my deadlift, so for now, a 29mm makes no sense for me...
    There always had this debate between 29mm and the old 28.5 which one is better blah blah blah... And now that I see this, rogue is just telling people that's okay and we got a bar for this too...
    My guess is that TPB will have to release the 29mm version as a counterstrike.
    The new pad from Rogue seems interesting but it does make a lot.of sense in a homegym... Maybe in a commercial or collegiate place?
    Velicidor... Hmm no thank you. Too MM to my taste.
    The new bench seems really cool though... But I just got the new prime fitness one (the very new, so new it's not on their website yet...) so rogue will have to wait until I break that one before I upgrade. And I don't think the PF bench will break until I left it outside for 100 years and use some antitank bullets to show him who's the boss.
    Rogue is definitely taking a new path here... I don't think that homegym owners still make a lot of sense for them. I mean, this was a small part of their market before, not the main focus, but now I feel they are really "moving a bit away" from this... they always been the guys that makes commercial stuff that would make homegym owners drool over it... But now it feels like a statement.
