Every time I watch a review by Lisa Gade I'm always impressed with how in-depth they go and how well her opinions align with mine. I don't know what took me so long to subscribe to this channel but you finally suckered me into it lol
I really like my G4. I've only noticed a couple of minor quirks, which I think are related to Lollipop, not the G4's hardware or software. As a long time Samsung user, it's very nice to get away from TouchWhiz. I also don't like Samsung's decision to go with non-removable batteries and no micro sd card slot. A lot of people say those aren't major issues but I like having the option.
They are major issues when you have all of your pictures, videos, and music saved to your sd card. I don't want to hear about how I should save them to the cloud. Removable memory is something that all phones should have. It's mind boggling to me that most entry level phones have that, but the flagships don't.
Thanks for the review! I've been looking at everything about G4 that's been coming out, and I think your review is the best in terms of thoroughness and accuracy. Shame about T-Mobile version of G4, I feel as if the carrier version might have been both in hardware and software...
Finally someone had a side by side comparison of nexus 6 vs G4. Thank you lisa! Great video overall. Its funny how people dis the nexus 6 but it is still relevant in 2015. at least til Note 5 and one plus two drops.
Hey Lisa, great review I'm looking forward to this phone. I have a request though, with today's phones becoming more and more competitive in their camera quality, it would be AWESOME to see an example of video quality in each review. Now, by an example of video quality, I don't mean taking the phone to a different setting and recording, I mean having the phone setup to record the exact same scene we've been watching the entire video. To spell it out more clearly, I would love to see a section where you switch video to the phone's camera and continue with the review in the same setting(showing your hands and the phone from the same distance and angle as the camera you are using) and notify us that we were just watching 4k footage from the phone. Then do another telling us that that was 1080p footage afterwards. This would be very helpful as it would give us a solid base to compare quality to. The pictures and video you take we can decide "hey that looks good", but we have nothing to compare them to. Regardless of the camera you are using to do the review costing more and being an actual dedicated camera, it gives us something that we are familiar with from the video to compare it to and say "hmm, maybe this really is a mobile DSLR replacement". Just a suggestion and, as I am planning on purchasing this phone, it would be extremely helpful to see that kind of clip and allow me a more in-person experience with the phone and its potential through your video!!! Thanks for the review Lisa, you're the reason I got my first piece of mobile tech three years ago(just about) and you continue to influence my purchases and the wisdom behind them :)
Great review. Can you tell me why you think the international version got better battery life? Was it running on HSPA+ as opposed to the T-Mobile's LTE?
MobileTechReview Awesome review Lisa..I must say I really like the leather backing(multiple colors) on the the LG G4. I also like that lg kept the removable battery ,micro sdcard slot...Im not liking the on-screen buttons(I prefer capacitive buttons). Samsung needs to take notes of what cosmetic options that lg has brung to the table & do the same,if not better.
hi! i enjoy watching you doing a reviews of smart phones and all of the latest gadgets, i just wanted to see your review and tips and tricks for lg g3 beat dual, honestly i learned a lot. thank youand looking forward seeing and watching my request. best regards!! GOD BLESS youmore than you can imagine!
Thanks for the informative review, one feature no one really talks about or compare is "2 way call recording" quallity. Some phones disable this feature in the rom. Based on my expiriance "smasung" never disabled this feature. On the LG G3 for example you will need to be "root" and install "LG G3 gearbox" in order to perform "2 way voice call recording". In some countries it is illigal to record calls but not where i live, so it is critical feature for me. Thanks again.
This video has absolutely sold me on the LG G4, the only thing that worries me is the size. Is it too big or something you'll just get used to? I always said I'd never get a phablet, and that my nexus 5 was the limit. This might be the device that changes all that for me.
Vai Rostampour you shouldnt have that kind of mentality...you will surely get use to the phone. Dont let something like size deter you from this phone, itll feel slightly bigger than the nexus 5 but nothing like my shamu of a nexus 6 does :p. get it, you wont regret it.
Vai Rostampour Im a GS5 owner but briefly had the LG G3 for a trial period. I too said I would never have a 5.5 phone but LG does such a great job. Size was not an issue. Yes you get used to it. The only reason I returned it were for reasons that are fixed on the G4: Screen brightness, battery life, overheating.
Well, the Nexus 5 is a relatively small handset but the G4 has a more massive screen at 5.5 inches and that is something to keep in mind. The phone is not that big since it is slightly curved and it fits well in the hands even if you have a pair of average size. The phone is gorgeous and the feel of the leather is just perfect! If you love your Nexus 5, once you hold the G4 you will get sold! I was about to buy the Zenfone 2 but Asus has a lot of variants and it made me so confused! The G4 is a lot expensive but for me, it is priced reasonably. Here in the Philippines it sits at 750 USD or 33,000 PhP. The Galaxy S6 at 32GB is a little more expensive.
You spent the first 9 minutes talking about how bright the screen is, how big the phone is, and what it's made of...... I just want to know if it's a good phone to use D:
yes, in this video both the g4 & the m9 screens look green, whereas the s6 & nex6 screens have whiter whites. maybe it's lcd vs. amoled as interpreted by this particular camera, i dunno, but i'm thankful for my note 4 :-P
i kinda like galaxy S6 but is more expensive so im looking for another one, G4 looks great but ive never had a LG smart phone, ive seen Xperia Z3, HTC M9 and another LG, the G Flex2... which one would u suggest?
@9:02 - Readily admits that the S6 is the most delicate phone of the bunch, so *WHY* do people keep calling that glass back 'premium'? IMO, that is a HUGE step back from the S5.
Zaxper I think it also has something to do with the LG UX 4.0 applying a theme to the widgets and status bar to match the wallpaper colours. I could be wrong though.
I'm certain this has been asked before, but, where did Lisa get that wallpaper of Mario? I've seen it in all her phone reviews (most of them at least). My 5 year old loves Mario and wanted to get it. Thanks!
The only reason I would pick this over the s6 is the removable battery and SD card slot. Do you think that's a good enough reason Lisa? I'm asking cuz I can pick what ever phone I want from my carrier for free in July and can't really deiced.
I'm having the same dilemma. The Galaxy S6 is absolutely gorgeous by the way! Seriously it's lovely looking and feeling phone. I'm hearing battery is terrible, yet my close friend has one and he says it's great. Who to believe!!!
I've had a g2 since August and its still great!! My phone never lags, has a camera that takes better photos then my friends iPhone 5s, a battery I only run down to 20-35% over. The course of a day and in my opinion... The lg g2 was waaaayyy ahead of its time and I would still recommend it to anyone! Only downside is my international version can't be upgraded to Lillie pop, also no expandable storage. It's price is always dropping though! Hope I helped! From me and my g2!😂
Out of the three units does GPS work on all of them. Some, including myself, are having problems with GPS on the note 4. In my case it will lock on to my current location but it loses the signal as soon as I start moving.
Hi Lisa, i wanted to ask something not related to this video but what camera do you recommend for someone who wants good photos and not experienced in photography
I got one of these bad boys on Saturday and have only one complaint. When wearing sunglasses, I can't see the screen when the phone is held horizontal. This makes it hard to take pictures outside. I am going to look for a pair of nonpolarized sunglasses. This is the 1st phone I've had this problem with.
"rain will continue until late at night" good ol' Texas weather these past few weeks :P 4h+ of battery at 50% brightness just seems kinda crappy honestly.... I hope get the new Xpreria soon.
First person that said that some camera beats the pants of the iPhone camera. Kudos Lisa. I've been saying that for a while. There's only so much you can do with a plain camera like iPhones have. 8mp is so 2012.
I know, but people keep praising iPhone and other than very fast camera and ease of use I think for years now it cannot compare to top of the line Lumias and Android phones. I'm just glad someone said it like Lisa did.
Aleksandar Petkovic yes but Android is also easy to use. Maybe not for onder people, but the simple things as opening apps is just as easy on Android as it is on iOS
john doe honestly dude, 6 plus is a really good camera. Ive been working for Verizon 4 years and iPhones have great cameras. However, it's 2015, and the popular Google phone's undoubtedly run circles around the iPhone. I applaud your enthusiasm for the iPhone plus...as I could not justify buying a 16gb phone for 300/750. The 6 plus has great battery screen camera but the software is made for old people and is identical to every other iPhone. Next upgrade you get buy a Samsung and you'll save 150 , have 32 GB, and a camera with more then just HDR/exposure settings. Google is a technology company apple is a marketing company. I use a nexus and a macbook, no bias towards either. My camera is not as good as iPhone 6 plus, and the 6 plus camera is not as good as the flagship Samsung/lg's. These are just facts of 2015. Cheers from my macbook.
Warning please be cautious if you plan on buying the LG G4. I am a Samsung guy but when the Verizon rep suggested the G4 I gave it a chance. It can with an extra battery, battery charger, and sd card so I went for it to try something different. At first I kind of liked the phone but realized what major issue that is a deal breaker. For some reason the phone does not like to clear out what is running in the back ground. Take the battery out and put it back in and apps will still be loaded in the back ground. Ok I have swiped them away BUT the phone still lags when trying in text. It will miss letters or try to catch up and double them. I think it related to task running the background. This lag and locking up is such an issue that I hate this phone. Please be ware if you decide to buy one!!!
Hey how come no one like MobileTechReview, DetroitBorg or Android Authority have reviewed the Samsung Galaxy Tab A? I mean the specs do suck but at least review it.
my g2 scores 41000 on antutu lg has really messed things up with CPU lg g2 is still lg best offering best battery best screen best ergonomics and lolipop now g3 had problems with battery backup gaming performance and screen contrast (greyish display) g4 is all messed up with snapdragon 808
You can get the G3 on Aliexpress new for $300 right now (yes, it is a genuine G3, not a knockoff. Aliexpress has purchase protection that will give you a full refund if it isn't, and you get to keep the product). Sure, the G4 is a better phone, but is it $400+ better? Not in my opinion...
+mobiletechreview Is this your daily driver? It's mine because of the size (not too big) and it has a removable battery and sd card. Unfortunately, I thought this phone was going to be perfect and it's not. The camera is excellent, but not the best on the market like how I thought it was going to be. It also heats up sometimes, the battery charges slowly, and the battery life is average. Even though it's not perfect I still consider it the best phone on the market by default. The others are too big and a removable battery and sd are a necessity for me.
Qjemuse In normal daylight most think the G4 photos are more lifelike then the S6 oversaturated photos. As for audio some say the S6 records better audio when doing video recording then the G4 does. Check HighOnAndroid channel he took both down to the ocean beach and did a video and audio recording.
IPhone plus has the same exact is lol. Same as my optimus g pro that 2 years ago was considered excessive and unnecessary. Now it's barely considered a phablet lolol
Could be a good device if it hadn't infamous and ubiquitous bootloop issue. It seems like sooner or later every G4 phone gets one. And LG fails a big deal to take responsibility for that. Instead, they set rules or regulations for their so-called official representatives to seek and find whatever excuses to revoke warranty. Considering their conduct on problematic cases, I suggest to be very cautious on weighing purchasing their devices.
My 2012 LG Optimus G served me well (even reactivated it earlier this summer for old times sake). But I got really tired of LG's UI, which is really heavy-handed and actually looks like it's gotten worse on the G4. I absolutely *hate* the way they've customized the icons... yuck. And to boot, I'm not trying to wait with forever to get updates. It's definitely comfortable to hold if you have slightly above average-sized hands and the display is nice (looks better in person) but no thanks.
Hey Lisa. Love watching your reviews they're very informative. But probably because I'm so OCD I have one small quibble. Watching you pry the backs off of these phones makes me cringe. You make it look so unnecessarily cumbersome. As with almost all phones that provide a removable back , there is a pry point built into the frame to facilitate the removal of the back cover easily. In the case of the G4 it's on the lower right side. This little notch not only will save you from breaking a nail but will prevent you from unnecessarily gouging the leather edge on the G4.
LG removed Google's double panel system and cramped all the notifications and all the power controls into a single panel. Usually the first Android notification is expanded, which means you'll see one notification. The rest of the screen is spent on quick settings controls, a brightness slider, and a volume slider. Is there a way to turn all this off and go back to Google's double panel system? Also, we can't interact with the notification accept to remove it or open it. Anyone can help pls?
Without question Lisa is the best tech reviewer on YT. Thank you for so many detailed videos.
Every time I watch a review by Lisa Gade I'm always impressed with how in-depth they go and how well her opinions align with mine. I don't know what took me so long to subscribe to this channel but you finally suckered me into it lol
I'm looking at the LG G4 as my next new phone. Excellent review as always, Lisa.

Well put, and I agree.
Great review Lisa Gade always love stopping through to watch your reviews.

Just want to say thanks for the reviews you upload. Easily in my favorite top 3 reviewers =)

iTechUOutGuy yes and my score is 10,000 points higher than this
iTechUOutGuy I'm still quite fond of my Nexus 6. It's definitely still a relevant phone right now.
I completely agree. It was really nice to see a size comparison for all the flagships.

Vai Rostampour Well, LG has that control button customization, and you can put a button for dropping the notification shade, best button ever!
Vai Rostampour Im a GS5 owner but briefly had the LG G3 for a trial period. I too said I would never have a 5.5 phone but LG does such a great job. Size was not an issue. Yes you get used to it. I love your laptop reviews and its my its my first look to your mobile review i want to say that its too good love you
Its fun watching these videos idk y. Nice reviews by the way lisa
Hi, by international version, do you mean the h815 variant or is it the f400 one? Nice review btw ;)
How Real Racing 3 runs? Best G4 review hands down. Great job.
Always like your reviews.. and this review is no different.. GREAT!
Lisa what wallpaper is that you have on your G4 and S6? It looks good on them!
yes, in this video both the g4 & the m9 screens look green, whereas the s6 & nex6 screens have whiter whites. maybe it's lcd vs. amoled as interpreted by this particular camera, i dunno, but i'm thankful for my note 4 :-P

@9:02 - Readily admits that the S6 is the most delicate phone of the bunch, so *WHY* do people keep calling that glass back 'premium'? IMO, that is a HUGE step back from the S5.
Why do you say the G4 has a larger camera sensor than the GS6? The specifications show they both have a 1/2.6" sensor...
Why does the G4 screen look green?
mixedstylesable That's due to the camera she's using to record, nothing to do with the phone.
Zaxper I've seen MULTIPLE videos from different people and each time, the LG G4's screen always looks greenish.
Zaxper I think it also has something to do with the LG UX 4.0 applying a theme to the widgets and status bar to match the wallpaper colours. I could be wrong though.
4NewHop3 I've seen the G4's screen in person and it looks great, so it has to be either her camera or a theme she has on the phone.
4NewHop3 Take a look at it in real life, I'm sure you won't see it.
Can you do a speaker comparison between LG G4 and HTC One M 9? TIA.
I'm certain this has been asked before, but, where did Lisa get that wallpaper of Mario? I've seen it in all her phone reviews (most of them at least). My 5 year old loves Mario and wanted to get it. Thanks!

I'm having the same dilemma. The Galaxy S6 is absolutely gorgeous by the way! Seriously it's lovely looking and feeling phone. I'm hearing battery is terrible, yet my close friend has one and he says it's great. Who to believe!!!
lisa, where's the review for the Acer Aspire V17 Nitro? I would still like a review for that laptop because i'm considering it.
Love your reviews Lisa (:
LG have since confirmed it does support quick charge 2 :)
I'm looking at the G2. Seems like it still can holds it's own from reading and watching reviews. How's the G2?
I've had a g2 since August and its still great!! My phone never lags, has a camera that takes better photos then my friends iPhone 5s, a battery I only run down to 20-35% over. The course of a day and in my opinion... The lg g2 was waaaayyy ahead of its time and I would still recommend it to anyone! Only downside is my international version can't be upgraded to Lillie pop, also no expandable storage. It's price is always dropping though! Hope I helped! From me and my g2!😂
*lolliepop not lilly pop. Also no full stop after over
do lg really think that adreno 418 will able to push Qhd screen gaming will be problem here
just got the phone last week, its an awesome device so far but I would add that the battery on it is subpar i barely get through an 8 hour workday.
That leather back looks so amazing. I'm so over these ugly UIs though.
Great job as always, Lisaaaaa! Thank you.
you always do good reviews

Always good reviews!
Hi Lisa, I love your reviews, please can u do a smack down of the g4 n note 4? Thanks
Booredatwork did a fantastic video of exactly what you are asking for.
How is the speaker quality compared to the best, the HTC One M9?
"rain will continue until late at night" good ol' Texas weather these past few weeks :P
4h+ of battery at 50% brightness just seems kinda crappy honestly.... I hope get the new Xpreria soon.
How good is the audio jack?
does the slightly curved screen serve any purpose?
it looks like a football.
that's seriously the first thing I thought of. I like the polygon textured back.
I don't like how the top and low arches look with the squared corners. They should have either kept it all square or round off the corners a little,
First person that said that some camera beats the pants of the iPhone camera. Kudos Lisa. I've been saying that for a while. There's only so much you can do with a plain camera like iPhones have. 8mp is so 2012.

If I bought an International version of this phone would it would on Cricket wireless just by putting in the micro sims card? Thanks
Quick Charge 2.0 IS supported.
call quality, cellular and wifi strength?
Eric Hong We covered call quality and cellular data in this video. WiFi has worked fine for us so far with 3 units.
MobileTechReview At what time point in this video did you cover call quality. Cannot find it.
Howard Goldstein I couldn't find it either.
MobileTechReview Went through the second time, I just couldn't find it.
Lisa, does the G4 record 1080p video in 60fps or is it only 30?
Hi Lisa. Could you check the speed openning camera of Lg g4? Thanks
Scuse you it does have quickcharge 2.0. Its just not listed.
LG G3 upgrade to S6 or G4?
Hey how come no one like MobileTechReview, DetroitBorg or Android Authority have reviewed the Samsung Galaxy Tab A? I mean the specs do suck but at least review it.
How does the speaker fare?
Alvin Tan sounds loud and really clear
LG updated the U.S version of the G4 it does support 2.0 fast charging
Lisa can you do a review an the new Samsung Galaxy Tab A please and a smack down with the iPad Air 2 vs Samsung galaxy tab A please Thank you
my g2 scores 41000 on antutu lg has really messed things up with CPU lg g2 is still lg best offering best battery best screen best ergonomics and lolipop now
g3 had problems with battery backup gaming performance and screen contrast (greyish display)
g4 is all messed up with snapdragon 808
Despite having watched it 3-4 times, why doesn't your app let it be added to my entry score, MobileTechReview
When it available in UK ?????
That last rose photo at 18:23 should have its Red channel blown to bits.
It has a power rear led notification as the lg g2?
So if I play games a lot and watch a lot of videos Ill kill the battery pretty fast right? :/

Lisa, are you from Greenpeace?
Blocking Calls,,,,,,,,Is there any way to Block Calls on my LGG4 ???
the lg g4 are one best smartphone 2015
Are the edges of the LG G4 metal?
max gu No, all plastic.

Dovakeen79 No they're not.
max gu The sides are plastic that look like metal.
well dam i have seen a few reviews say they were metal what ever still nice looking phone.
The LG G4 must be a good phone, but that big ugly logo reminds me of my refrigerator.
Grobee lol agree
quick question.. is it the currently the best camera on a phone?
thanks.
Qjemuse In normal daylight most think the G4 photos are more lifelike then the S6 oversaturated photos. As for audio some say the S6 records better audio when doing video recording then the G4 does. Check HighOnAndroid channel he took both down to the ocean beach and did a video and audio recording.
Do we have lg G4 dual sim model ??
Great review. Thank you.
How tall are you?
6'7'.:)
why the display so green?
after i have seen samsung ufs memory on s6 memory card expansion is non sense buy now
IPhone plus has the same exact is lol. Same as my optimus g pro that 2 years ago was considered excessive and unnecessary. Now it's barely considered a phablet lolol
Thank you, nice review.
This is really unusual.
Illmatic662 OK, there are comments now, weird, TH-cam is acting funny.
does it have the fingerprint scanner?
No but the V10 will if Im not mistaken.
+Omar Rangel 👍
it does
LG removed Google's double panel system and cramped all the notifications and all the power controls into a single panel.
You have to hold down on a notification.
Good Review!
You look beautiful this Review Lisa!
How do you turn the volume up no buttons on sides
Latoya Palmer They are on the back
Buttons are on the back
The phone is good what still both LGG3 and LGG4 both are over size. I'm using G3, due to oversize it's so annoying something.
She has all these kinds of phones ! what a rich woman !
Looks almost like the OPO just curvier at the back.
