The 2022 Bolt EUV is a practical Electric Hatchback

  • Today i am reviewing the 2022 bolt euv which is an electric hatchback with some pretty cool technology. In fact one cool thing to note is that the EUV will offer super cruise technology which is GMs driver assist technology designed to rival the various auto pilot offerings out there. This is also the first time that I have seen super cruise offered on an affordable vehicle in the GM lineup.
    This chevy bolt can cover a multitude of practical use cases such as costco runs, commuting and being a good everyday driver.
    Safety: This Euv comes with driver assist, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind spot detection and well as forward collision warning.
    if you have the version of this bolt euv that includes super cruise technology there will be a camera on the steering wheel that ensures that you are paying attention and as long as you are the car will steer for you as long as you are on a road that is mapped, Although it won't change lanes for you like full self driving that is offered in tesla so you will have to manage that part on your own

    I love my 2019 Bolt. It is practical and affordable. OK so it's not a road warrior. The LG battery recall was a pain but now my battery is under warranty until NOV2029 and 148,000 miles. A used Bolt is the best deal out there,, they all have new 2022 rated batteries.

    Thanks for the review! Just got my hand on a metallic blue one a few days ago, after hunting for about 3 months. They are so hard to find these days as most are sold even before arriving at dealerships! Never even test-drove the euv before, but I'm loving it. Coming from a 2017 volt, the transition was easy for me. IMO, the 1-pedal driving feature is spot on for city driving. Also loving the build quality (interior & exterior), seat comfort, wireless phone charging, & wireless Android Auto. And yes, the suspension does feel a little solf but it's geared more toward comfort and not a sports car, like you mentioned. Thanks again! You've helped me make the right decision. I think it's a great value.

    Solid review! I have a 2021 Chevrolet bolt and I love it! I was thinking about upgrading to a EUV because GM contacted me and asked me if I wanted to upgrade because of the recalls but I said no because I have a oasis blue bolt and I honestly don’t like the colors of the current EUV.. and I also live in Ca so I would have to pay for the usage I’ve done in my bolt whereas other states it’s a straight msrp swap. I think in the future I’ll sell my bolt and try to get myself into a Model Y but for now I’m enjoying it (:

    • @WizLovesCars
      @WizLovesCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ed! Glad you like your bolt! Honestly upgrading to the EUV will just come down to choice at that point but you have some valid reasons to stick with what you have minus the color options. I’m a huge fan of wrapping vehicles so I’m a little biased there. Now the model Y i think you will definitely enjoy! Also thanks for checking out my review!

      How were you able to get one? I cannot find a dealer with one available here in NYC. Thanks

    • @ta756
      @ta756 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MeliMeli66 it was definitely a challenge. I was told that they’re selling out quickly because a lot of people who had earlier models recalled due to battery issues are getting 2022 replacements and the car is already in high demand on the market. Meanwhile, inventory is limited because production is switching to 2023 models. I had to call around a lot to see if anyone had unsold units in transit, because most places are selling out before the cars even reach the dealerships. I was able to put a holding deposit on one that should arrive in about a month. It doesn’t match all the features I initially wanted, I still have to wait a while to get it, and the dealership is about 2 hours from me, but the car meets my needs and will arrive sooner than if I’d attempted to get one custom made at the factory. Placing an order directly with Chevrolet and picking it up at a local dealer may be the best option for you if you can’t find any unsold inventory. You’ll just have to call dealers to make sure they’re willing to do that (I tried placing orders on the website but the dealers I selected as delivery locations said they’re not participating in any Bolt sales or deliveries. I don’t know why, but please ask or your order will just get lost in the ether). Also keep in mind that the $6,300 discount ends on July 5th and most dealerships will not honor it unless the car arrives before then. If you’re willing to wait longer, you could ask dealers whether they’re currently taking orders for 2023 Bolts. Those will take a while to come but the starting MSRP is already $6,300 cheaper than the 2022 models. I wish you the best!

    That was a useful view. You didn't mention Spare Tire. Does it have one? Where? Do the rear seat backs fold down?

    • @WizLovesCars

      Hey Thomas thanks for checking out my review. The seats do fold but there is no spare tire included

    • @thomaspanfil9185
      @thomaspanfil9185 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WizLovesCars Thanks. The lack of a spare tire makes me wonder whether car companies and/or consortia of car companies are standardizing on wheel mounting and tire sizes for cars *not* equipped with spare tires so that road service vehicles can carry a *small* assortment of mounted spare tires to supply to cars as needed. Since a car's owner would have no practical way to keep such a spare for future use by a car, due to lack of a place to stow it, I must wonder if those temporary tires, no longer actual spares, would be Rental Tires. (Note that my thoughts evolved within a single sentence.)
      I just realized that there can already be a problem for a loaded car equipped with a temporary spare to store a damaged tire since it would not fit into the storage location for the small spare. Even if there would be room ahead of the rear seat, or in the cargo area or trunk, a dirty or wet or snowy tire could make trouble in the interior. Do service vehicles carry bags or some other containers to package those tired for carrying in the car passenger compartment?
      Would the road side service vehicle perhaps transport the damaged tire for the motorist?
      Many other issues arise.
      Someone should research this and publish an article, or a TH-cam video, on the issue. Perhaps there is an opportunity for new tire & battery business.
      I'll provide this feedback to AAA and to Chevrolet too. I've been a AAA member for over 50 years. I worked for GM over 50 years ago. Both have probably thought of this, and perhaps have already addressed it. Maybe AAA has published the needed info which I just never found and read. Maybe Chevrolet is working on such standardization. BUT, maybe one or both needs a Heads Up.
