The sword was probably forged from Jenova's meteor. It's technically Sephiroth's birthright. I don't think the sword corrupted him at all--I think he senses that it's just HIS since he's Jenova's son.
Another thing -- in the legend they mentioned that the villagers didn't work together to get the sword. I definitely think they're setting up Angeal and Sephiroth coming together to get it. Masamune DID mention he was looking for a successor in the previous chapter. Maybe Seph proves himself worthy not in corruption but in embracing Angeal as an ally.
I think Alissa could end up becoming a possible romantic interest for Angeal once all of the mysteries start to unravel. So we get chapter 3 in February, chapter 4 in April, chapter 5 in June, chapter 6 August etc... depending on how long this Episode will be. I'm kind of wondering this might be a shorter Episode than part 1? or will they will follow the same 8 chapter format they did for Episode 1? I just want there to be a super powerful demon that Angeal, Genesis, and Spehiroth fights once they become the trio we know them as.
Masamune thought: Do we think Masamune could have been the practice run for the true puppet, or is he something of negative lifestream without Jenova, and therefore matches up with Sephiroth anyway? She may be negative lifestream incarnate but not the source of negative lifestream, or simply a true mimic that copied the lifestream's weaknesses. Given all VII lore we have, if you made me guess I'd say she was a planet's corrupted Omega that came to Gaia. But I don't think we'll ever know. I can't tell if Masamune is a former puppet or a common element to Jenova. But I'd like to know who is ringing that bell, or is that bell a real thing or just something they are hearing? Alyssa thought: It feels like Jenova is impersonating Alyssa off of Lucrecia as if she were Sephiroth's sister to guide him down a dark path. Maybe that 'sisterly' thing Hamaguchi said about Aerith and Cloud had a dual purpose. Bury the tiresome ship and also misdirect attention away from this. Either way, she did not like that cells scrapped off a meteorite comment. Lifestream memory sequence/story crux thought: Tying this all to Cloud, the chapter further showed the difference between Sephiroth not having a family and home versus Angeal having one. I'm going to throw all my cards down and say the big reveal of the part 3 memory sequence will be the plutonic love story of what Claudia, a single mother of age seventeen, did for Cloud. Distract the audience with Tifa and Aerith (the romantic concept) so we're not thinking about the plutonic concept of mother and son in any way other than the twisted one that Sephiroth thinks of. It's our parents who initially teach us how to act and form our standards when it comes to seek out new friends and family as life goes on.
thank u for bringing this to my attention again i agree a lot with u this could have been so much better but i gues we have to do with what they do and be happy we get anything ff7 related i think indeed the sword was made from the meteor were jenova arrived with so the material attracts ppl who have some greed in them and ppl who are related aka have jenova cells in them
Also when Aerith meets cloud in the church, she says that she deduced cloud was a soldier “from the sword”. Not sure if she said this because she remembers Zack carrying it around, or if she also saw other soldiers sporting it. Either way, I think this line seems to imply that Aerith believed it was common knowledge that this was standard issue.

Overall I am satisfied with how the Sephiroth backstory and the masamune origin story has been going. Alissa was definitely manipulating him the whole chapter. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if she is a form of Jenova
I watch faz for this info as well 😉😎

Idk how the buster sword would be a standard issue weapon though because it was a gift from Angeals stepfather.
@@shirox11 that’s why the line is kinda confusing in Rebirth

So his masamune is some Monado shit
Alissa could be a Lucrecia copy 🤷🏽♂️ Crisis core got into all that Angeal and Genesis copy stuff
