God given greatness right there. I suggest we start practicing! This song is so refreshing and his sense of melody is unheralded. Words can't say enough.
yes you are right..he created alot of the music while he was playing piano, but he heard it all in his head first...i know I was there..his wife of 14 years...and your right in saying he was the greatest guitarist of ALL time...Never be another Shawn
I'm hearing this man for the 1st time, and it is an honor to hear such talent. I've listened to everyone from Beck, to Dimeola,Mcglaughlin, landreth,Hendrix,Johnson etc,i have to say this man is in that league and could very well be in another league all by himself. a super talent.
I love hearing him play this stuff live. It's cool to hear him playing these crazy solos very similiar to the album but still enjoying every note and playing it like it's brand new./ Props to this man! If anyone is wondering this is from his awesome album "power of ten".
@Deagledrumzz Check out Buckethead if you haven't already, but you'll have to sift through about 6 different albums before making a decision. Lots of people listen to 'Jordan' by buckethead and think that's all he does. Really you'll be blown away by how various his songs are and how much he writes.
Yes I agree. I think its a 'jazz' thing rather than a Shawn Lane thing. It is quite random and not something you can 'nod your head' to. But after being absorbed beyond the point of control into Shawn's playing , Im starting to really like the style also
tell that to keyboard magazine, who rated him the second most technically proficient keyboardist ever. Or to all the people who've been lucky enough to see him perform on the violin and cello..
@actiondirector ever hear of eric blaszczak? he gets his audience to cry at every show. former firefighter and now pro session guitarist..nicest guy i ever met as well.I totally agree with you, more people need to play with soul

When I see musicians having a computer on stage it's generally a mac. Shawn must be one of the first in that category :)
