- We used the DJI Inspire 2 with the X5S and the Phantom 4 Pro to film one of the most exciting rallies of the season. Rally Finland is all about speed, jumps and narrow forest roads. This combination was a guarantee for spectacular aerial footage.
Multicopter operations were conducted by professional pilots in coordination with manned aircraft pilots and authorities.
Relevant permissions were obtained prior to filming, and filming was conducted in compliance with local regulations.

I hope this is the future of motorsports tv coverage. It definitely should be! It's so cinematic. Imagine those shots at dawn at the 24 hours of Le Mans!
These are really good pilots ...
They are good but they are using some intelligent flight modes to get some of those shots.

Hi Phillip, we only use Intelligent Flight Modes when filming the Aerial Analysis. All other shots you see are filmed without.

Epic shots! Reminded me how I was rewatching Gran Turismo game race-replay when I was a kid - smooth shots with complex camera dynamics ... but that was 3D graphics while this is REAL! :D I wish in the future the image quality of TH-cam uploads will be on par with what DJI cameras have to offer. Proud owner of Phantom 4 Pro and I know how great of an image even that sensor delivers, let alone the Inspire 2 camera with the RAW capabilities! Cheers!

Being a WRC DJI pilot must be fun as hell and also extremely pressuring due to you flying a $5000 drone through some woods in sport mode with minimal line of sight.

Nice looking shots but people need to understand that the audio they are hearing is not from the drone it's from external speakers that have been placed alongside the track. Videography is mostly audio. Audio makes clips more appealing and unlocks their full potential. Regardless, having amazing drone shots like these help a ton too! If you mute the video, it's still awesome to watch.

Hi DJI, very good video, I like all your WRC montages. I have the Inspire 2 myself as well as many of your other systems. I would, however, think that you guys should start producing these videos in 4K. You see Gopro put up many of their videos in 4K. After all, you are the leader in drone technology and aerial filming, so I think many people expect you to make these montages in 4K quality (when possible). Just my 2 cents, keep it up

A racing drone with a 4K session 5 could keep up and bring a great new perspective to the videography game all sorts of events.
Mavic does not work as well...Inspire and Matrice have seperate controllers....one for flight and one for camera...camera is 360° independent....thats why legs raise up....to remove them from view of camera altogether

I think a rally is the perfect event to drones make videos, because nobody can tell drones are unsafe. Slowly people will loose the incomprehensible fear of drones.
