BLENDER CHALLENGE 9: Lost Treasure: Pottery Texture in Substance Painter (Part 9)

  • In this video, I use Substance Painter to texture a pottery model for the Lost Treasure scene. It should be quite evident that I am just terrible with any hand-drawn texture, even with the ability to use symmetry. Hope you will look past that and that the result is not too unpleasant ;)
I will probably go back and make some changes off-camera to the pottery. You can see in the thumbnail and image at the end of the video, that I already changed the colour.

Omg so happy to see you using SP!! I had taken a short break from 3D so I'm kinda seeing this a bit late but it makes me happy! I like watching SP texturing, it always inspires me!

Thank you so much for your tutorials! This pot and chest you made looks so cool it made me download Substance Painter and now I'm trying to properly texture everything in my scene, which forces me to dive into unwrapping, a thing I haven't done before, ever. So thank you for being an inspiration and giving me a push to get out of my comfort zone (I basically was learning only low poly till now) and discovering new things. Now my scene is fully (badly, but it's a start!) unwrapped and textured, I learned a lot and I keep filling it with new models.

That's fantastic. I'm really happy for you. We are going to make a golden (brass) goblet next with a few details in substance painter so maybe you'd like to do that with me. The video for that is posted :)
