Amazing video like how you explained everything to a point. I have never find a video like this before and I’m a you tube addicted for any house renovation Look forward to see the 2nd part
Super helpful video, we're going to have a go today at doing this for our daughter's room! What screws did you use to screw the base to the wall? I can't seem to find a video of that exact part
Hi, im afraid i didnt quite follow that last bit where you showed the finished ones you had done bwfore and were describing something about the skirting and adjusting measurements to cover uo the steped back bit qt the bottom of the wardrobe ...
Hi Kirsty. I came across your video and its not often you find someone that talks through things properly. I am looking to do some of these for myself. However, with regards to the base. Do I take it you have to offset the base by the thickness of the doors? Or does the base match the base of the pax wardrobes?
Ok thanks for that. Also with regards to skirting board. Im not sure whether to remove it or not. If I keep it on do you extend the base or shrink it to the skirting board thickness?
Hello 👋🏻 newbie here so thank you for the great video on how to build the base. Desperately trying to understand that do the Pax just go on top of the ply wood you just put on top of the wooden base ? Is it strong enough.
Did you build the base up bc of the shorter units? I have a 96” ceiling and was considering using the taller 93 1/8 units directly on the floor and covering the unit base with plain boards brand using trim only at the top? My ceiling molding is 2 5/8 “
@kirstygriffiths749 at the start, around a minute and a half in you show one side is approximately 1cm lower than the other side and have written '+ small wedge' on the wall. I was looking for what you used for this and how it was used? (my floors are uneven and can't seem to find any videos explaining how they ensure the base is level for the wardrobes while still being stable) Thanks
Yes, you don’t need a base. I add the skirting board that I have running around the room across the front. In order to do that I have to lift up the Pax with a base.
Would you say if your going for the hack it’s better to go for the oak colour so you can paint it afterwards rather than the white? Or no difference xx
For screwing the timber together I would suggest drilling pilot holes first to prevent splitting or stress in the wood.
This is the video I have been searching everything you are saying I’ve been wanting to know! Thanks
Pleasure ! New Pax video collection starts next week ❤️
Such a helpful video thank you! Can u please do a video on how you incorporate the skirting board into your base measurements please. Thanks so much!

Thank you. Nearly finished this new pax 💪
this weekend we will do a Pax for my sis, watching to learn :) thank you!!
How do you level the floor frames? Floors are never perfect.
Shingles buddy, easy

Brilliant keep it up! 👌🏽

Thanks ! The base matches the pax frame. The mdf then sits in front. if you use 18mm it will then pretty much line up with the doors.
Ok thanks for that. Also with regards to skirting board. Im not sure whether to remove it or not. If I keep it on do you extend the base or shrink it to the skirting board thickness?

You don’t need to add the plywood really. As long at the pax sits on the wooden base it’s is perfectly strong.
Amazing job 👍🏻. Are the Pax boards / panels used for the carcass 18mm thick?
Yes.
@kirstygriffiths749 Thank you! I'm binging your videos ☺️. Great work all round, well done 👍🏻👍🏻
@ fab 👍 new Pax in January
What are the measurements cuts for the bases? 100cm x38?
If you’re adding in front of skirting you will need to take off the thickness of the skirting.
Did you use pine wood for this base ? If not what kind ? Btw ver helpful video. Thank you
I used pine yes. Should be linked in description
Great video. Just thought I would point out that you bought hardboard and not mdf.
Yes, I’ve commented in the description for using the wrong word
You are amazing ! Sorry if you explained this but are both bases screwed together or sre they just resting on each other and only screwed to the wall?
They are just on top of each other. I screwed each to the wall. You could screw together if you wanted. The weight holds them down.
Did you build the base up bc of the shorter units? I have a 96” ceiling and was considering using the taller 93 1/8 units directly on the floor and covering the unit base with plain boards brand using trim only at the top? My ceiling molding is 2 5/8 “
I wanted the skirting to run along the bottom of the pax. Looks far more fitted.
Hey, great video. You mentioned you were going to link the blueprints for the wardrobes?
Sorry, yes coming very soon
Where was the wedge to make the base level? Didnt seem to see that bit and its what i came for 😂
The wedge ?

@ you can buy plastic wedges on Amazon if you have uneven floors, they come in packs.
@@kirstygriffiths749 and place them under the frame? Are they left there? Or do you secure the frame and then remove?
What if the floor is uneven
You then make the base even.
Why is a base needed? Can't pax units stand without a base?
Yes, you don’t need a base. I add the skirting board that I have running around the room across the front. In order to do that I have to lift up the Pax with a base.

I don’t understand what you mean ? To achieve this colour you need to use the correct base colour ?
Plugs and screws just go Fischer (or any similar A brand) don’t cheap out on these because it will bite you in the ass down the road
