I just started a company and grabbed a govt contract and now I'm starting the hiring process. This is so right on time for me! I literally followed along and built up my expectations from our values like the pyramid and figured out our KPIs and which percentages would be cause for a promotion, demotion, warning, etc. I've been binging your other videos and I think it was one where you fired everyone that you said to make sure you have a system in place to tell employees from the door exactly how they will be rated for raises, demotions and general longevity with the company - so important and I hadn't even considered it! After this video - well during this video with many pauses - I added a tagline to the business, put it up on the website and all brand materials to clarify what our brand promise is in short form for the client and employees. I literally had to cancelled an order of promotional t-shirts just to add the new tag line and reorder. I am SO grateful for this video and am going to probably sit here and consume everything in this series without food or drink today LOL. This is super valuable and expensive information. 7 months ago, I got into business with my partner to help him scale his young 6-figure marketing agency and truthfully, I had no idea what I signed myself up for as a COO because we had zero clarity or direction mapped out. I had zero clue what it means to drive revenue through operations, what the agency truly needs from me as an operational leader, or even how to find the right mentorship to guide me along the journey. So after 4 months of investing thousands in the wrong courses and programs, and putting time and effort in all the wrong places, I stumbled on this video but still didn't have the foundation to TRULY understand why this is so important, what putting in this work would mean for scaling the agency, or how doing so would impact my ability to take valuable action and communicate it forward to my partner. I’m just saying it’s refreshing that in comparison to other female entrepreneurs who give fluff, and really any entrepreneur or business owner that isn’t trying to see you something for that matter, it’s nice that she’s sharing legit and no-nonsense info. And to be fair, how many women are making 9 figures and sharing it for free? The majority of wealthy people making 9 figures are men, but that doesn’t bother me. I’m saying her ability to cut through the BS as a woman and using her feminine strengths of emotional intelligence, which is used as her role working with their internal organization with people as she always says, is refreshing. There’s a lot of successful women online selling stuff and their word and knowledge doesn’t carry the same weight that Leila’s does, and you can tell by the way she delivers it that it’s battle tested and true. And it’s nice to watch another woman teach this, compared the far majority being men that teach this way.
I’m stuck at 3 million and we just began establishing values. It makes perfect sense based on the framework of how to start with those as the base and build the rest. Really helpful

Thanks for a very valuable insights. Perhaps it's also beneficial to make explicit what the customers will not get (brand promise and offers), what you expect the employee should not be doing (core values) and the remaining levels of your pyramid. I understand it has a negative connotation but this way you provide more clarity, thus as you mentioned also speed ;)
Thank you Leila, the long form video was highly informative. Discussing Brand, Brand Promise & Values seems to be a recurring theme in orgs who haven’t quite figured it out yet. Oddly enough, once these practices are in place things start moving high and to the right on the KPI graph.

This series will be great! I love the longer form format. I found lots of value in the breakdown of rules based vs value based players who then default to rules when expectations aren't clear. I'd rate myself a 4/10 as departmental goals for each and every are lacking. Currently at 3mil and opening a second location. Looking forward to the next video in the series.

Leila I would buy your book series for the operational side of the business:) I prefer this style of video, length is whatever is needed to teach the subject which typically ranges from 10 to 60 min it seems.

Thanks for a very valuable insights. Perhaps it's also beneficial to make explicit what the customers will not get (brand promise and offers), what you expect the employee should not be doing (core values) and the remaining levels of your pyramid. I understand it has a negative connotation but this way you provide more clarity, thus as you mentioned also speed ;)

Thank you Leila, the long form video was highly informative. Discussing Brand, Brand Promise & Values seems to be a recurring theme in orgs who haven’t quite figured it out yet. Oddly enough, once these practices are in place things start moving high and to the right on the KPI graph.

I found lots of value in the breakdown of rules based vs value based players who then default to rules when expectations aren't clear.
I'd rate myself a 4/10 as departmental goals for each and every are lacking. Currently at 3mil and opening a second location.

this is very helpful info! i had a small service business before but stopped because i was the product and was traveling crazy hours. would like to start a new remote business eventually. so a video about advice starting a business from the ground up would be very helpful! (analyzing markets, creating products, marketing when your company is new)
