- In this informative video, we delve into the process of how the food we eat is converted into fat in the body. From the moment we consume a meal, various metabolic pathways come into play, influencing whether the nutrients are utilized for energy or stored as fat. We explore concepts such as metabolism, nutrient absorption, lipogenesis, insulin's role, and the intricate mechanisms of glucose and fatty acid metabolism.
Join us as we unravel the complexities of adipose tissue, energy balance, and the hormonal regulation that governs fat storage. By understanding the science behind caloric surplus, triglyceride storage, and fat deposition, you'll gain valuable insights into how dietary choices impact fat accumulation and overall health.
Whether you're interested in weight management, obesity risk factors, or simply seeking to adopt healthier eating habits, this video provides a comprehensive understanding of the processes that influence fat storage in the body.

I have read many books, I listened to many TH-cam videos by many of the world's leading gurus and health experts but nothing came close to “the hidden herbs” by anette ray. I recommend everyone giving it a read.
Reallyy..?
Wow i learnd more about stored body fat from this short video than any health class in highschool or middle school. All kids should see this video.
Nah. You should focus more on your classes. You just too lazy to go through school educational system

Cause they don't. They teach body cells, nucleus, and mitochondria, remember the colofull rotten egg diagram we had to label?, you know the more important stuff that we will use for the rest of our life?
Food, energy, fat? Psshhh... Forget it

@@anniescorfano yes i know! but, imo, the majority of people should learn how to eat in a healthy way, learning about the macronutrients and etc, because it's possible to reach a balanced diet without thinking only about calories. in the beginning of this year i started to be so paranoiac over calories that i developed an ed, now i'm trying to get better.

This has to be the absolutely best video on TH-cam about how bodyfat works. So simple👍Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
The Best explanation I've found. Great video!
Learned more than in a 4 hours podcast.
This was the breakdown I needed
finally. an explaination where im not lost. most "how much can we?" "how to" "how does" starts with a 5 to15 minutes of yapping or explanation. im so lost i dont even know what the main topic was. sometimes they changing topics and not even giving the answer

Calorie deficit
I nearly subbed to your channel after watching this vid but your channel lacks these kinds of vids which is sad. Do more of these. In fact make you channel based on just doing these vids and you’ll go viral. Mark my words.
I agree!! Do more of these!! I subbed in hopes I'll see more of these. The others don't interest me as much either. No offense, I just enjoy these subjects more 🤗
Really great video!! Easy to understand, good pace and overall a great visual tool!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Also there is a limit to the amount of body fat you can gain in a day. About a pound of fat is the limit. But for this to work you would need to eat at least 10000 calories in a day which is near impossible. So a day of binge eating wont cause too much harm
So that's why eating constantly like this without using it for energy for example exercising is why we gain weight in the long run?? I hope I made sense haha
Very good. I immediately understood it and the video was also short. Amazing what proper teaching can do. Makes me feel like I wasted all those years in school.
The food processing error begins essentially in the way it is cooked in vessels.
Wow very informative. Thank you.

How much time it takes to convert into fat after eating carbs? Why does body weight increase the very next day after eating heavy dinner. Does it take only few hours to become fat ?
No, that is the water retention and bloating. you can't gain any fat unless you eat like 3500 calories more than you do, which is a lot
Great breakdown
Would be nice to just 💩 it all out and not store anything just have MASSIVE dumps 😊
I dont think you would live very long if that were the case.

@@PorshiaVonne If you ever were in a situation where there was no food, then the stored fat in the stomach would be used as fuel. This process is called Ketosis.
I don't know about you, but my ancestors often had to starve due to famine back then. That's why they would eat a lot to store fat and were mostly reliant on Ketosis during bad times. Thus My body also has high metabolic rate.
So in other words we don't food if we are fat. Got it...Going to fast until I am at the weight I want to be at...
It isn't that simple. Body always preserves itself
You can still face malnutrition from extreme fasting, the best weight loss method is a healthy diet overall and making small changes/choices and adding it up. You don't have to be completely thin or have a specific popularized body type to be healthy either for your personal health or body! Maybe try getting into small walks or playing fitness games whatever is the best for you.
And of course talking to your doctor is always an option. Extreme fasting can lead to things like malnutrition or re feeding syndrome, and can be the start of an eating disorder. Mental health is still health and you deserve the best!
Fruits veggies water fish meat and everything else stay away from.

So, build more muscle to store more glucose and, as long as carb intake doesn't exceed your energy requirements, less glucose will be stored as fat. And, when you're building muscle, your energy requirements are high.
Wow!! So cool! Thank you!!

Thanks for sharing!
You bet! Thanks for watching.
So that means we need fats, but don't cross the limit. Right?
Thanks.
So if I barely eat carbs (just enough to avoid health issues) and mainly eat protein and fats, I won’t have any excess glucose to turn into fats? So you cant get fat/triglycerides just eating proteins and fats?
proteins and obviously fats will be stored as fat if you eat more than needed.
Protein will not get stored but excess fat will
Yeah fasting helps weight loss in 10 days even …I have tried it works
Here is the most basic most crude example of what is body fat. Imagine you have a plate (your body) it’s clean, nothing is on it. Then imagine you put pancakes and syrup on the plate. When you are done eating, there is syrup and a few crumbs left over. That represents body fat. And it will continually accumulate (fat) on your plate until you introduce energy aka washing the plate.
How can liver convert a 4 calories carb to a 9 calories fat to store it without consuming energy from the available storage ...... Didn't get it
Excess glucose gets converted to triglycerides in adipose cells.
Informative..
But completely skips the low carb, low sugar mode - glycogenesis and autophagy.
Dietary sugar is NOT your body's primary source of energy 😉

We have to maintain our weight and exercise and consume healthy foods and drinks ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉
yup thats how exactly glucose/fat works in this video.. cuz calorie deficit is flawed. not calories are equal. sure u can eat 100cal of cookies but also contains 30-50g of sugar/carbs = u gain fat.. also if you eat too less calories like 1000 - 1300 cal a day u hit starvation survival mode/weight plateau(slower metabolism, fatique, weakness, increased cortisol levels) the fastest way to burn fat is intermittent fasting/stop eating junk sugar/carbs. your body will go to ketosis mode.. this is why keto people lose 30k-50kg easily in 1-2months even eating 2.5k- 3k cals day.. than those who do ridiculous calorie counting and scaling everything at 1.5k cal a day but yet still dont lose fat due to "plateau"/slower metabolism. your body is very clever its easily adapts from eating low calories and that specific calories you just set a month ago. will became "new normal" calories or your new normal Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) this is how caveman survived during ice age eating too low calories
Most keto people gain the weight back instantly bc your body needs carbs to function also cavemen had a life expectancy of 30
@@DhhxHdhd-ki3ly then why are the Inuit people, or Northern Quebec are so lean and healthy, with life expectancies reaching into their 90s? cuz their diet consists mainly of fats and meats, as their land cant grow carbs or wheat. while compare to american/ western diet, with its high rates of diabetes, obesity, and heart disease epidemic because its easy to OVER EAT carbs.. such pies, sandwich, pizza, cookies, cakes, bread, burgers, and fries while It's very difficult to overeat meat, as it provides lasting satiety with just 1-2 servings, very slow to digest and you can pretty much last a whole day, unlike high-carbers they have to constantly snack every 2-3 hours your body constantly ask more of it once your carb fuel source are depleted resulting of overeating lol.. carb is only quick very cheap fuel source and low in micronutrients.. carb is not essential, your body can easily make carbs/fuel source amino acid using protein or fats you consumed called 'gluconeogensis'... so yeah more protein, less carb.
@@pouringpoipoi5777 you need healthy carbs like fruit milk whole wheat bread etc that’s why you need a balanced diet and the Inuits have a life expectancy of 60 eating to much fat and protein and not enough carbs can cause heart disease and kidney problems carbs give your cells energy to do quick tasks 60% of your calories should come from healthy carbs look it up
Ew ew never eating again
How about frustose to glucose same?
Yes
how can I eat 10 big macs a day without this happening
That made me want to clean my body
So we need to stop ice cream and other good sugarly foods😢
Glucose is not the primary source of energy
it is tho, can you elaborate?
@@avatarxs9377 if you have carbs in your system, your brain WILL prefer them as the first option of fuel. However, it runs cleaner and prefers ketones/fatty acids over sugars
@@StrongBodyandMind33 you misunderstand something. glucose is product made from carbs and all carbs are processed into glucose before body uses them as fuel.
@@StrongBodyandMind33 also ketones are used by brain only when it runs out of glucose during fasting or low carb diet.
@@avatarxs9377 this is incorrect.
The body produces gluconeogenesis. (Its own glucose) when it’s needed during an intense workout or sprint, ect.
Otherwise, the mitochondria prefers fatty acids for fuel as it produces far less oxidation for energy compared to glucose, which causes glycation. And this will destroy your body, along with your mind.

How not to be fat ?
Eat half
Vegans ☠️ 😮
Veganism is a Mental Disease
So why can’t really fat people go without food for months?? If we store fat for energy.. obese ppl must have fat Wendy stored for weeks or months
Because while body fat serves as an energy reserve, it doesn't provide essential nutrients like vitamins, minerals, and proteins that the body needs to function properly. Prolonged periods without food can lead to nutrient deficiencies, muscle loss, and various health problems, even if there is stored fat available for energy.
Eat a lot.

1:29 When calorie intake exceeds expenditure, you get fat.
Especially carbohydrate intake.
@@TTR83 no not especially carbohydrates, excess calories make you gain weight.
@@RodSherwood1 Carbohydrates make people eat more food. Carbohydrates are not that satisfying. As long blood sugar is high there's no fat loss. High insulin is problem as well.
@@TTR83 what you said is true but that has nothing to do with losing or gaining weight. The calories you take in versus the calories you expend determine if you gain or lose weight. It is true carbs don’t “fill you up” that doesn’t mean you have to eat high calorie foods to make yourself feel full. If you are hungry, drink a glass of water, eat some celery, it will make you feel full with zero calories. Stop with the insulin resistance bullshit and stop eating.
