I did 30 days waterfast once or twice per year since 2003. The longest time without food and only water was 50 days in 2021. Then i lost 28 kilos. But now i don't waterfast anymore. Insted i eat healthy and lift weights. Gravity Transformation have been a big help to me. / Hoffa
@@hoffa3525 I want to slim my body now I'm 77kg and i want to be 65kg I'm feeling so hungry when I'm in diet so i break my diet what i have to do bro help me pls i don't want to bulk my body that's why im not going to gym
When I was in my 20s I made up a diet called “eat what you want, but only one small thing, and only when VERY HUNGRY”. When I felt pangs I would sip water, tea, or coffee until very hungry, and then would eat what I was in the mood for - an apple, a hamburger without the bun, a salad, a pudding. The first day I ate six times, next day four, normal became two, until at one point I realized I hadn’t eaten for two days because I hadn’t gotten hungry. Several things happened; 1. I found I was in the mood for something different each time and ended up eating a balanced diet. 2. My body really liked only having to digest only one thing at a time and my energy soared. 3. After a couple of days my stomach cavity shrank and I was full from less and less food. 4. I lost my carb addiction and 17 pounds in two months. 5. I found out my sinus congestion was only when I ate red meat. I stopped it for 7 years, and now can eat it a couple of times a week without getting stuffy. 6. I became really aware of what my body said it needed at different points of the day, and I cooperated.
@@Enigma.and.Shadows …I had an awful new procedure where they inserted tubes into my sinuses and froze the lining , the idea being that it would die, slough off, and open the passages. The whole time I’m thinking but wait, there must be a cause somehow! As they were pulling the tubes out, I heard a crack, and as I was defrosting, I got a torrential nosebleed and staff started running around and dealing with it. Luckily I’m a good healer. I could breathe for two weeks and then got stuffed up again. They offered to repeat the process but my brain kicked in and I said no thanks. A couple of months later I discovered the diet. 25 years later, I developed an abscess between the top of a molar and my sinus on that side, and needed gum surgery. 15 years later, I lost that tooth and the one next to it. Inflammation is a big factor in swelling, and even now sugar makes me sneeze. Good luck. Don’t let them make too much scar tissue, doesn’t function well.
@@simmiesim321 ….somebody’s cranky today. I added the second comment because I suffered for years and had an awful, painful, damaging , expensive procedure when no doctor even considered it was a simple allergy . I had to find out on my own, and a simple diet change revealed the problem. Maybe doing this might help some others as well, which was my intent as I typed for five minutes. Why this makes you angry is a mystery.
@@cmwHisArtistwow, that other guy is a real piece of work. I screenshotted your diet guide, it's really fascinating to me, thanks for sharing! How was your relationship with food before you started? Mine has been improving as I do 24-36 hour fasts, but I definitely have a long way to go before I can say I have a healthy relationship with food.
I'm eating once a week total now. I'm fat so think my body is feeding its self. Drinking loads of water. I don't feel hungry at all. It's getting harder and harder to get my self to eat. Am I really doing myself damage. However my memory and retention for information has increased so much that i can do my job far better because I don't forget anything. All it took was me to stop eating. I wish I had done this through school I wouldn't have left without an education.
You are fucking doing excellent, keep that shit up. When you are at the body size you want, every 3 days is excellent as well. You are a beast warrior 💪.
I'm on day 4 of a 5 day fast and I can honestly say the only negative effect I've experienced aside from hunger is heart palpitations. On a positive note I've lost 9 lbs, my mental clarity has increased and I feel like I'm in a better mood!
If liquids are included in your fast, try maintaining your electrolyte balance with calcium, magnesium, potassium and salt (a little coconut water with a half pinch of himalayan salt, 1tsp acv and a pinch of cream of tartar). A lack or imbalance of these minerals can result in a range of issues including heart palpitations during fasting.
Pay attention to your heart!! I had the worst heart palpitations for a long time until I realized I had a vitamin d deficiency .. it all went away once I started d supplements 🙂
Back in september 2018, I discovered your channel, and followed your intermittent fasting tips. I was at 110kg at that time, with fast alone I was able to lose 30kg in a year with little training. To this day I'm still doing it, it allows me to control my weight, when I can't exercise for long periods, and I don't have to think about what I eat. It also helps my wallet too.
I’ve been working out 2 years. IF worked it down to 23/1. I’m currently on day 3 of a water fast. Aiming for a week. It’s def easier than I thought. It’s all in your head.
I found just waiting 8 hours between meals and eating smaller meals including salads has made a significant difference in how I feel and I no longer feel bloated after eating. Ayurvedic philosophy on this says that giving your body time to rest between meals (8 hours between instead of 3-4 hours) allows it to use up the stored energy and drinking liquids during this time will flush your system of waste more efficiently if your body isn't constantly busy trying to digest food. This automatically causes weight loss without any other effort.
@@maryburger1232 You must be fat or something. You would literally only eat every 4 to 6 hours if you worked out your muscles and brain a ton. I'm not a breakfast guy but I'd eat a banana, some milk, or bacon or eggs. I usually dont even eat lunch, or I don't eat breakfast and I eat at 11 to 3. Then I will skip dinner or I will eat dinner at like 7 or 8. I'm 18 by the way.
I’ve been fasting for two months. Lost 50 pounds and I have so much energy now. And I don’t feel hungry at all. I have 100 more pounds to lose. I’ve been making sure to watch my electrolyte intake.
@@Voltomess A guy fasted for a whole year under medical supervision, so it is very possible. That’s the whole point of stored fat. It keeps you alive while you can’t eat. Of course, you need to make sure you take vitamins and drink enough electrolytes daily like sodium and potassium.
I started Fasting every third day. So eat normal 2 days then nothing the 3rd. did this for about 8 months went from 273 down to 216 (57 lbs). Was a life changer. Haven't been able to continue due to cancer, but when I get back on me feet I will continue.
I went on a 2 weeks water fast and it was the best thing I have done for my body. It actually cured by seasonal allergies. The first two days were tough but the rest was a breeze
@@21111009198573 When I started the fast, I was 205lbs standing at 6’1. I lost 16lbs by the end of the fast, but I think it was mostly water weights because I gained 14lbs back with a week. To be honest, I didn’t have an energy on the 13th and 14th day, so I decided to end the fast. Before that, I kept up with my workout routine and didn’t even lose any strength in all of my lifts
Years ago when I first heard of gravity transformation I thought it was just a bodybuilding and fitness subscription but recently I’ve been seeing a lot of videos in my feed and I enjoy watching and learning from them because it has helped me to view gravity transformation in a different light especially since the science behind the body and its functions is explained. It makes me see that it’s not just about fitness subscription but instead shows me that you know what you’re talking about and that it can be done no matter your body type.
I’ve done 2-week fasts so far. Both great experiences and makes you see what your body is capable of. It’s not something you can recommend for everyone but it was great for me.
@@thatvampirelorraine This is because your body is addicted to carbohydrates and you eat constantly which is terrible because it spikes insulin constantly. Our bodies are supposed to switch to burning fat for energy very efficiently when not eating for an extended period of time.
16:8 and OMAD are miracles for weight loss. Scrap everything else. Do this and be amazed. Been working for me for almost a year. A couple of times I've gained 5-10 lbs. Then started fasting and lost it all quickly again.
16/8 I think is the most reasonable. I started at 217 a week ago. I got on the scale today (which I said to myself I would not), because I feel it in my clothes (down a size). I'm 203.5. My body is already used to the fasting and sometimes my body stretches the fast for 18 hours. For people who are new to this, I suggest start your fasting in increments by 2 until your body is feeling comfortable. Meaning...start out 6 hr fast for a week, the following week 8 hours and so forth until you have a comfortable fasting plan. Gravity Transformation is awesome..big THANK YOU!!!
??? Are you saying people don't sleep for longer than 6 hours at a time? if they do sleep for longer than 6 hours, that means they fast for longer than 6 hours at a time. So I'm pretty bewildered by your "wtf"@@stephaniecoomey2356
Just postponing the breakfast during weekends a couple of hours feels good, and I have lost weight. I've never been overweight though. I have also reduced the number of meals / snacks during the weekends by one, making it a very light form of intermittent fasting. It was easy and gave results from the first day; I could feel the metabolism switch. I have however always eaten well; the difference is a reduction of what's not so healthy and also the number of meals by one during weekends. I don't have any cravings at all. Knowing what's bad for your health, effectively precludes such consumption. But I do allow myself goodies, such as desserts sometimes; but always make sure to enjoy these in conjunction with a meal, not as a snack in between.
Only learned about intermittent fasting recently and have been on a 20/4 schedule for two weeks now. It has been easier than I thought, and I generally feel better. Next, I need to fine tune my food choices during the 4 hour eating window. I'm eating a little better, but that has to improve. Enjoyed this video! Thank you.
If your goal is to lose body fat sustainably you should try cutting out insulin-spiking foods, up front processed stuff that is full with sugars and other refined carbs. But also bread, pasta and starchy stuff which contains little dietary fibre. Nobody *needs* to eat that stuff. The less you spike your insulin levels during your eating window the less hungry you feel during the fast.
Im doing intermittent fasting for weight loss and health benefits. Although there is a little bit of cheating with sugary drinks like tea and coffee, I'm sticking to it pretty well for the most part. I found that I only get hungry during the final hour of a 16 hour fast, which makes sense because my body knows I'm going to eat soon. I haven't been doing it for very long, but I've noticed I'm losing 1-2 lbs a week, even with the cheating.
Dude this video is killer! Easily one of the best science-based fasting tutorials Ive ever seen. Fasting is an amazing tool that literally anyone can use to heal their body. Three meals a day is a myth.
Here's what you can expect after a short fasting. I have done these about 10 times total and have ALWAYS had the same results. I am muscular, 193 cm, and close to a little overweight. I allow myself to drink as much water with lemon and tea without sugar as I want during these. Day 1) Difficult because of hunger, especially during evening and night time, no benefits felt other than a small boost of energy. Day 2) Better mood than usual, large boost of energy, almost no feeling of hunger. Mind feels clear. Day 3) GREAT mood and huge increase in desire to interact with people and look for social situations and go out to do something in the evening/night. Huge boost in energy. Pretty much no feeling of hunger. Very clear mind and easy to think. Day 4) Lots of energy and clear mind but some stress and irritation setting in, especially towards the evening and before sleep. Get tired and winded easily when doing intensive physical exercise (in my case, two or so hours of beach volleyball) Day 5) Energy is high, but mood is VERY irritable. Disoriented feeling. Unable to drive properly due to lack of focus. Light to medium headache starting to set in. I have never made it past the middle of day 5 due to the symptoms. Total weight loss would usually be from 102ish kilos to 96.5ish. About half of it would come back in the following week. TLDR: I would highly recommend trying this if you are borderline overweight, or more than that.
I really enjoy intermittent fasting. Due to not being able to run like I would like to, I was still able to drop 30lbs over the past few months at a nice steady pace and I got back down to my weight I was in the army without running and I look better since I am not running as much, so when I do introduce running again I know not to over do it. Great video
In order to implement running I suggest fasted cardio with strength training to keep your figure good. Like 2 times training or Weights first Cardio after with Running.
Good job! I am lazy and really don't like working out hard. So to stay not fat I just don't eat carbs much and intermittent fast most days. I lost 50 lbs last year and have been maintaining a good weight ever since.
As a dietetic intern, I felt you covered the topic very thoroughly! The only thought that came to mind during your video was the different rates of when specific metabolic pathways are used in different conditions. For example, ketosis is less preferred during times of metabolic stress, so muscle breakdown will occur at an increased rate. Just to clarify, all of these forms of metabolism and catabolism are being used all the time; the conditions of the rate is what changes.
can you gimme advice whats the best approach to fasting as someone who eats everyday ? i imagine going full cold turkey 7days fasting could be quite damaging.. 24 years, Male, 183cm, 119kg
I myself have the opposite problem, when people go without food they obviously feel hunger, I don't feel hunger or thirst ever, as far back as I can remember. So I have to have alarms to tell me to eat and drink. So fasting is not a problem for me.
I’ve done several extended fasts and lived my life, worked, and worked out hard during every fast. My longest was a 28 day water fast where I only drank water and black coffee in the morning. I did supplement electrolytes which IMO is extremely important for any fast over a day or two, or if you’re on a low carb or no carb diet. I’ve also done a 21 day fast and several 10 and 14 day fasts. On my first 14 day fast, I was lifting super heavy 5-6 days per week since I worked out at a powerlifting gym, and even did squat and deadlift sessions at 90% of my max at day 12/13. It’s not super difficult but it’s important to follow your body’s advise and do it with some research. I’ve had 7 day fasts where I had failed at day 3 or 5 because I had headaches constantly. One other thing I’ll say - growth hormone is increased during extended fasts, most research showing increases starting around day 2-3. To best keep muscle, make sure you lift weights or exercise daily.
you did weight training during ur fasting? Wudnt that make you loose mass because your not eating after lifting weigjts becauae how are muscles supposed to heal and grow with no food input? I know you mentioned hgh is released but does it really ?and is it enough to maintain? How much weight and mass did u loose? i wana fast but am already slim been working out to build size n be bigger but wont fasting reverse this hard work haha
@@jjohnson9822 Vitaly is on crack cocaine don't listen to him. During a fast, stored fat can be changed into glucose and than into glycogen which is good for normal activities. This conversion process however is rather slow so if you start doing very heavy lifting around 90% of your max it will absolutely damage your muscles and because you don't have protein intake it will not recover properly. Extremely dumb. If you are already slim you should definitely not fast longer than +-3 days. That way you will get the metabolic advantages but not much of the muscle degeneration. And obviously in those 3 days, don't do heavy exercises cause like I said the energy delivery system from fat is to slow to keep up with the high energy requirement during these types of training.
Wow really amazing! I have competed in drug free powerlifting ADFPA 1988-1991) and done 40, 28, 25, and 23 day water fasts where I only drank a little black coffee besides water. However I didn't lift weights at all during those fasts let alone max squat and deadlift. Wow!
You will never hear any of this science-based truth from the mainstream medical industry. Just look at the damn food pyramid-what a joke. This is one of the most concise videos Ive ever seen.
i have lost a average of 18.8 lbs since dec 2020 .That day i weighed 585 lbs today i weighed 245 lbs . 42/6 intermittant fasting and pa;io diet. went from 11.6 A1c to 4.3
TH-cam has suggested I try and watch something out of my comfort zone and I clicked the link. It brought me here. Ironically this video is pretty much what i needed to see. I'm contemplating on extending Ramadan for myself in an effort to try and lose weight. I found this info to be very informative. Thank you for sharing!
I’ve started intermittent fasting for the last few months and have lost about 10 lbs. I eat healthy but allow myself cravings in moderation. Ever since I’ve started fasting, I get full faster. I’ve also started taking a daily probiotic for over a year now and that also contributed to me being less bloated. Edit. I forgot to mention that I run at least 4-5x a week.
In terms of body composition, intermittent fasting is great for those with busy schedules or to reduce meal frequency to lower kcal intake. Even the growth hormone increases are transient, not enough to have any significant effects.
Been fasting for two days a week now. As a chef I eat constantly at work. Two days off is just what my body needs to burn excess fat and normalize. Drinking cold water helps to shrink your stomach so when you do eat again. You won’t gorge yourself and have a massive colon blockage. Feels incredible!
4:03 You said it takes 24 hours for the body to burn through your remaining glycogen stores and start burning fat for fuel but in the intermittent fasting video you said it takes 12 hours for the body to start burning fat. Which is it?
I did last year 14 days fasting. Just water, salt and some vitamins. In the last 5 days i needed to add a bit of squeezed lemon in hot water in order to balance the PH of my stomach (that was getting too alkaline from the salt and the vitamins). In the weeks after this fast is remember having a drinking session with my friends, the next day everyone was in a massive hangover apart from me...my liver and kidneys really detoxified.
if you have a balance food and life style , you do not need to torture yourself for 14 days to reset your metabolism , usual you need 40 days to reset , but your brain will never ever forget this for you , you can't do this cold turkie and remember there is no such a thing as detox - it is all BS
@@klddere3734 it is the same consequences as quitting heroin it is not you body it is your brain needs to reset the process and like I said it will never forgive you for that, you have to do gradually slow you have to train, I have seen people that quit eating lost 60lb in 1 month then in 2 weeks they gain back 100lb and got themselves in all type of medical problems.
I’m in the middle of my annual 5 day fast and I experienced in the past and explosion of energy 4-6 weeks after. The refeed is also extremely important and as a 56 year old hitting the gym for whole body weight training seems to really help my strength and libido!
the most scary thing about not eating for a long time is that yes u lose hunger after a while but !! it will get harder to eat something as soon as your able to.
I'm just over 60 and went on a 21-day prayer fast in January, during which I had no solid food. I had never done more than 7 days before this, but since I'm overall fit and healthy I thought I could do it. I've been on a carnivore diet (meat, fish, eggs, high fat dairy) with intermittent fasting for over two years, only taking limited low glycemic fruits, veg & nuts in the summer season. I found it incredibly easy to maintain the fast. I did, however, continue to take my bullet proof coffee in the morning (waking up has always been hard for me) and took my hormones, vitamin B booster & Omega 3 as usual with it. Since I work long hours and needed a lift by the early afternoons, I'd do another bullet proof coffee around 2pm. In between I'd have mineral water with lemon slices or herbal teas. In the evening I'd do a mug of thin soup, so I could take more supplements...especially the ones prescribed for Covid resistance. ((I chose not to get vaxxed and in spite of having to isolate a number of times due to exposure, I never got sick). I didn't suffer any hunger pains at all and I slept very well throughout, but did get somewhat tired in the last number of days. I lost around 5 kg (which dropped me back into my ideal dress size), my skin looked great and apart from some fatigue - which subsided in the week I started introducing solids again - I feel great. Although the fast was for spiritual and not health reasons, it was interesting to monitor my bodies reaction. I'd love to do a 40-day fast at some point, but I'll wait a few years until I'm no longer in full time employment.
Interesting, i have done several 7 day water fasts and one 18 day water fast based on the benefits outlined in your video and that of Dr Jason Fung. Interestingly the scientific papers he refers to suggest that the body will consume body fat before it starts to consume muscle mass. 3 days of fasting for me at least only produces water weight loss on the scales which goes straight back on again when you resume eating. To get real benefit I have to fast longer than 3 days. My experience is the body tends to want to return to its set points and a fair amount of self will is required in ketogenic eating to keep the weight from coming back on.
calories in calories out, one day of fasting followed by eating at your maintenance calories will still lead to fat loss. it doesnt need to be longer than 3 days
i read some other studies, say fat burning will rise after the 3rd day and after that muscle will significantly decrease after 7th day ish thus they suggest 3-7 day fasting, for no more than twice a year ish. however, same goal can be achieved by practicing 168, 186, 204 diet
I was diagnosed with Dysphagia & Aspiration in the last three months...I'm not able to eat much, I've lost 65 pounds & I'm very malnourished...been working with my clinic, hospital & Dr to find better ways of getting the nutritionance I'm not longer getting from food...I wear heavy clothing because I don't want people seeing me like this...any advice on this condition would be immensely appreciated
I fasted for two days, and then started my diet. I like how I felt when I started the diet, but I didn’t want to fast more than two days. I want to keep the muscle I have. Thanks for the great video.
You will not starting losing muscle mass in 2 days unless you are already extremely lean. Most Americans could probably fast for a week and still be burning stored fat. The optimal fast for most people is 72-100 hours. I have done many fasts in that time range and I always come away feeling so much stronger; physically and mentally
I often fast, 7 days is my go-to. Five days is also good. I feel like the first 3 days are the hardest and that I only really get to the benefits after 3 days. I also do it for spiritual reasons, but the health benefits are insane and my body craves it sometimes. Sharp focus and actual energy gain as well as weight loss (not my driving factor) are just a few. One of my favorites is a reset on my sleeping pattern and less sleep necessary in general. Where I normally need 8 hours and often wake up groggy, on a fast I would wake up fresh before my alarm after about 6 hours. Truly it is one of the most beneficial and life-changing tools I have had the pleasure to discover. I have never felt like I lost muscle during fasts, so here I would like some more info. I speak under correction, but my understanding is that your body may use proteins (muscle) while it is in a 'reduced caloric' or malnutrition state, i.e. it still uses glucose for energy. As soon as you switch to ketones, your body should stop. (For reference on this see Tim Noakes' first fast vs. his consequent fasts). For that reason I make a point of exercising in the first day or two to burn my glucose stores as fast as possible. I exercise throughout my fasts, usually a bit lighter than normal. We also should not underestimate the mental and emotional effects. It is really good to break bad habits or get out of a rut and become appreciative of the things we have. The only negative effects I have had are heart palpitations and sometimes a little light-headedness from getting up quickly or the like. When my heart pounds I add some salt to my water and it feels like it helps.
I have started fasting only on the water for the first time in my life, and I'm 25 years old. It's my third day and stumbled on this video. Thank you very much for it. Now, I have more motivation to keep it up; I'm not overweight. I just want to say no to myself sometimes... anyways thanks again, and guys wish me luck. I set a 7-day goal, but I might go even longer now...
Don't exaggerate. I for myself had a only water diet from Sunday evening to Monday evening for the last 9 months. I did it for multiple reasons. One of them was to make sure to prevent the organs to grease over time. I think it is healthier to do it for no longer than 2 days but more often maybe every 2 weeks. My weight hasn't changed at all but that isn't needed at all with 143 lbs. For mondays I will go running instead now to build up muscles and endurance
I had that Problem for a few Years. I was chubby most time of my Childhood and as a Teenager. I started loosing weight when i was like 19. Jogged a lot and worked more practical. And suddenly i didn't eat much. I just sorta lost interest. I had like one Slice of Bread with Jam in the Morning and covered my Appetite up with lots of black Coffe until evening. Then i might had some Chicken and Salad. I lost 60 Pounds within half a year and i was skinny as heck. People walked to me and said i was looking bad. Pale and unhealthy. Never found Balance in that. Nowadays i wouldn't say i'm chubby, but i'm defenetly not slim...
I'm on keto diet and also one meal a day. As I write this comment, I've been on a complete fast for the last 150hrs. I plan to break my fast 2moro Before I started this keto lifestyle, my weight was 110kgs, now I am 74.3 kgs. Keto and fasting has completely changed me
I've done this 2 meals / day with 'morning breakfast' and "after dusk dinner" and occassionally if I overslept past 10 am or just dont feel like having morning breakfast, one meal a day (OMAD) with just "after dusk dinner" since 2018 and felt the benefits to my health, eating habits, weight stability and to some extent time saving. In the 1st month you will definitely feel great and deep hunger epecially the early 1st week due to your longtime habits of eating thus affecting your hunger. The rule to my meal is simple, all my snacks are eaten in conjunctions with my meal time, after my meal time is done (1 hr or so) I dont eat aything at all not even a grain of sugar, bread, salt or anything at all just water outside of my meal time.
I felt really bloated last summer so I decided to go without food and drank only water for 100 hours last August. I found the experience somewhat beneficial even though I really struggled after 72 hours and just about managed to complete the 100 hour fast. I then decided to try alternate day fasting throughout October and have now been doing alternate day fasting for more than four months, only eating between 12pm -6pm and then eating nothing for 42 hours. I've now dropped two pants sizes and lost a total of 40 pounds since October 1st last year. I'm finding alternate day fasting quite natural even though I still have slight hunger pangs between 24-30 hours. However, after 30 hours the hunger subsides and I find it easy to go without food for 42 hours.
@@JerryDunhamJr There's no link. I just decided to try alternate day fasting last October and have continued to this very day. Last October I weighed 235lbs, however I'm currently 182lbs. I only eat between 12pm-6pm on alternate days and then won't eat for another 42 hours. I only drink mineral water with a slice of lemon when I'm not eating for 42 hours. My BMI has dropped from 29.1% body fat (almost obese) to 22.3% (healthy weight) in just over 5 months. I can now see the outline of my abs for the first time in my life. It's not a long process but a difficult one and very much possible if you have the willpower and determination. I'm aiming to get my BMI down to 14% by October, which would leave me with a six pack! I would recommend starting with daily 16/8 intermittent fasting and then increase it to 18/6. However, the goal should be 42/6 which is when you will see amazing results in a relatively short period of time. I also do a daily one hour workout at home and walk 8000 steps six days a week.
Thank you for this video! This may be slightly off topic, but I wanted to share it. As someone who used to be 200 lbs, I find this video very informative! At the end of high school and during my early 20s, I wanted to lose weight and did; HOWEVER, I went about my weight loss the wrong way. It became so drastic to the point where I developed anorexia. I lost weight from the OUTSIDE IN, instead of from the INSIDE OUT. Now, that I’ve become aware of this at 40 years old, I can begin the process of healing and make better decisions. I just want people to know that they CAN lose weight and get healthy, but they have to address the root cause of why they struggle with their weight, in the first place. This video helps me better understand the damage I was doing to my body at the time! There is light at the end of the tunnel! 😊
"I lost weight from the OUTSIDE IN, instead of from the INSIDE OUT". Maybe in your mind this is self explanatory. But to normal human beings it is not obvious. I am always curious why people write like this. LOL. Funny
Interesting video that confirms what I've learned in life. All my life I got grieve for my weight, dragged me to "professionals", tiny healthy meals. BMI 30+ . Then I adopted my natural eating habit. One meal a day, often veggie because I was too lazy to cook a real meal. In little under a year I was on my correct weight. No hour long sport sessions and all that. Just eat when you are really hungry. Bonus not mentioned here : everything taste SO GOOD when you do eat.
I agree with almost everything you’ve stated here, but the statement that your brain will only use glucose is contradictory to many other experts opinions that in fact the brain prefers ketones for fuel over glucose… can you elaborate on this please?
I think that was stated in the section where you have lost tons of weight. Your whole metabolism has changed when you are starving. I think you need fat to make ketones.
The brain prefers to use glucose for energy. In fact, in med school there's a famous saying that the brain is 2% of the body weight but uses 20% of the body glucose making it the major consumer of glucose in the body. In a fasted state (in between meals), the choice of energy is still glucose, which the brain gets from glycogen breakdown and gluconeogenesis. However, during starvation (prolonged fasting), the brain can tap into ketones from fat while also trying to get glucose from gluconeogenesis which is absolutely necessary especially since certain tissues can only use glucose as fuel (red blood cells and the lens).
@@theothersideofthecoin3125 The main reason for that is the composition of the diet of most people. If the diet is rich in carbs, the brain will use the circulating glucose preferentially because it makes sense to do that. Glucose needs to be metabolised quickly otherwise it builds up in the blood. The brain is able to metabolise glucose very easily, so it does. But if you are on a ketogenic diet, your brain will adapt to ketones and operate primarily on that. The brain only needs a very small amount of glucose to maintain its function. Having done fasting and kept diets myself, I can tell you that I have significantly better focus and creativity when I'm running on ketones. I would estimate that my IQ rises by 10 points on ketones. If people wish to believe that their body needs glucose, it's not based on evidence, it's based on wanting to maintain their relationship with their comfort foods.
Muscle loss mainly occurs in people that dont exercise while fasting. And by exercise i mean walking will do it. Doing some light exercise prevents most muscle loss in all muscles not only the ones youre excercising. There is also a muscle loss if you are not used to fasting that can happen during the transition to ketosis (using fat as fuel). So a longer fast will loose less muscle weight than many shorter fasts. Hope this helps. But please do your research. Videos like this often leave things out and make mistakes. (and so do comments) For fasts longer than 3 days i suggest supplements.
Great video. Sorry for people going through hunger. By the way beside the behaviour improvement goal, Allah prescribed Ramadan fasting for health benefits. Seen on articles you've shown
This was very informative and was exactly what I was looking for so thank you for making this video. I love all the amount of detail you went into with this and the step by step process of what happens to your body during it.
You only discussed the negative effects of fasting more than a few days, but didnt mention how well it would work if you took vitamins and minerals during the fast?
works great that way. Lots of channels and doctors talking about it if you do a search. He expressly says it's due to lack of mineral/vitamins when the bad stuff happens. If you supplement you won't have an issue as long as you don't do something silly...like an extended fast when your BMI is already low. If your BMI is already low just exercise, fasting will cause you problems.
That is the way I did it I lost 105 lbs and ate a lot of vitamins. It kept me from getting sick and and kept my energy levels up so could run 5 miles a day during the diet. Worked great.
@@irepairofpc31familykartrac51 I made my own green juice, drank bone broth and cinnamon tea and took vitamins i lifted weights and skipped roped 20 mins a day without tiring for two weeks to detox mu body.. agree it worked great. but i went keto because i like bigger muscles
@@scroogemcduckrich9705 I did the keto as well but I’m in my 50s and don’t have a lot of muscle mass. I worked out and ran a lot. I quit drinking after 35 years of drinking daily and it has made a huge impact on my life. Good for you.
Table spoon of apple cider vinegar in a large glass of water will keep you full for a while if you feel hungry. I do 18/6 - 20/4 Mon-Fri. So much more energy and combined with weights/exercise I feel like a champ! Been doing it for months now. Great video!
@@raymond3855 The benefits out weigh the taste. It really isn't that bad; but I also take a tablespoon of black seed oil a day....nothing taste worse than that IMO.
Recovering anorexic here I used to be overweight then I started exercising about a year ago when from 170 to 105 in a year I’m 125 and doing better I hope to get back to exercising soon and this time I’ll do it right. A message to other anorexics like me. Stop for a minute take a deep breath and just think about what to you are doing and why you are doing it if it is to be skinny then why do you have to starve your self there are plenty of people who a skinny and eat the two are not mutually exclusive, and the more you starve your self the worse it will get, your body does everything it can to survive the less you eat the slower your metabolism will get and in addition you will start digesting your own body. In short you are killing your self, now I won’t lie recovery is unpleasant at the beginning you will want to stop eating go back to not eating but trust me there is a light at the end of the tunnel and when you reach it you will feel stronger you will be able to concentrate better you will be able to enjoy life without constantly stressing about you appearance at first you will feel fat but you are not you are just bloated because your body is not used to receiving so much food over time the bloating will get less it just takes time. Ultimately it’s up to you but I swear if you choose recovery you won’t regret a single thing.
as someone with an ed too; i’m currently in quasi-recovery. i’m on the verge of a relapse, but i’m glad you’ve come out the other side. i’ve been this way for years and it probably won’t get better but it’s always nice to see people who it did get better for. thank you for spreading your positivity
@@babykillingcadillac6719 I had a borderline ED when I was meticulously working out to lose weight. When you realize it takes an hour to burn 200 calories, throwing up that huge meal and not having to work it off seems mighty tempting.
When I was a teenager,I became anorexic.I would go days without eating at a time. It definitely impacted my cognition and thought processes during that time.
Fasting is extremely important, I been doing OMAD almost every day and I have lost 30kg since October 2021 tilll now that's about in 4 months period. I also integrated walking everyday atleast 11k steps everyday I mean everyday haven't miss a day since October, also 5 to 7 days a week at the gym. But overall I think fasting played the biggest role, about 70 %
Got into keto and OMAD and had a part time job on my feet, lost 75 pounds in 7 months. I also believe fasting was the primary driver in the fat loss (keto mostly helped me stay on schedule).
@@adeqnjw7362 you generally pick a time that works for you. When I first tried I tried I ate between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. but 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. worked better for my schedule. At the beginning you'll definitely need to exercise some willpower but it does get easier. Keto works well with OMAD because you eat more fats/proteins and those are more filling and you stay satiated for longer.
@@Alex-mg5he it made more sense to me than other diets and the food looked better. The body will burn fat on its own for "fuel" but of you're supplying your body with carbs/sugar it's going to burn that first rather than the fat on your body you want to get rid of. There was a lot of talk about the "roller coaster" feeling when eating sugar/carbs (you eat in the morning, feel good, crash, eat again, feel good, crash, and repeat. All the benefits (higher energy levels, improved mental clarity, etc...) countered the things I was struggling with (low energy, general brain fog, etc...) The diet is limiting but it's still rather simple and contains a lot of foods I really enjoy...almost went with Paleo but didn't want to pass on cheese. My go to meal is a few skin on chicken thighs and roasted broccoli and I love it every time.
Your body starts to repair itself using the cholesterol that your body provides your prostate will repair itself as well fasting is the best way to repair a body😊😊😊❤❤
I've been doing a 23/1 fast for the past 30 days and when I eat its less than 2k calories, I've gone from 323lbs down to 301 and went from the 2nd belt hole to the 5th.
One thing I’ll say on malnutrition, I’ve done a metabolic panel and a CBC blood test at day 5 of a fast and then day 18 or 19 of a 21 day fast and my lab values looked great. The only major changes were A1c which lowered from 6.1 to 5.1.
Good video with excellent advice. The best diet a human can be on is to only eat when your body is calling for food! Your body lets you know what it needs for fuel with the use of cravings. Listen to your body! Too much food is hell on a human body. Less food = less carbs, less fat, less energy used digesting extra food, etc.
Longest I went was for 3 weeks. I was aiming for 4, but it was starting to kick my ass at the end of week 2. The greatest benefit from that experience wasn't even the weight loss (I rebounded HARD and none of the loss stuck, and I ballooned past my starting weight later on too) but the realization that you really don't need to eat to live (to a certain point). I was skeptical of people saying eating 3 meals a day was important and how eating once a day is bad for weight (like how?). I also went in after having done 1-2 day fasts sometimes too. And just like this video's conclusion, 1-3 days seem to be the best max time to fast. I wouldn't recommend going any longer even when 3 days is exactly the amount of time needed for the hunger pangs to go away (Once you're past 3 days, you won't feel hungry until a few weeks later). People still don't believe me that I really went three weeks without food because I didn't die. Yeah I still drank water, took vitamins, and salt too. But, I really didn't eat any food whatsoever
I heard somewhere that the prophet Muhammed used to fast two days a week. I might try it for 6 months beginning in april (1 week from now). Ill also be rejoining the gym from tomorrow evening and going 3 times a week (its been two years of no exercise and terrible diet, ive gained 37lbs). I'll post results here every month to share my experience.
I just did this over the course of like 6 months. Can say it works as stated. I lost like 40 pounds. I don't remember the feeling of hunger, though that might be because I was a shift worker for a good time, and couldn't eat for prolonged periods of time while I worked. I'm kind of stabilizing on this diet, but that's kind of annoying because I'm still slightly overweight like a pound or two.
Was having a hard time deciding if I should continue my fast of having just one single meal per day consisting of little amounts of food in the morning and starving myself for the next 23.5 hours (in order to speed-lose weight & look skinny), or to heed my sister’s advice and still maintain a diet of 2-3 meals per day (just that it is much healthier than what I usually eat). This video finally convinced me to give up on speed-fat-loss and aim for a more effective weight & fat-loss journey on the long term instead. Gonna have tons of veggies & protein for dinner later lol
I did 40 days a few years back plus a bush of others in-between. My last 10 days on my 40 was a bit ruff but I believe its been the best thing I've ever done for my body. Looking to do another 10 days next week
@@undernetjack not always too good because of my emotional eating but have gotten much better. I try to eat low carbs and on my good days I go 24 hours.
very well researched and presented imo . Ive been a couple of days here and there for 4 years now (originally for ankle inflammation which reduced considerably ) and everything this guy says is spot-on.
I officially fasted. For A Week!!! Weighing 216 pounds, I knew I would lose weight faster than others but I didn’t expect these results. First of all, I started on a Sunday which is why I’m saying this on a Saturday and crazy stuff happened. I’m always searching this stuff but literally no one has tried this, I’ve only seen stuff on fasting but studies only get technical and say people will give up in a matter of days so they don’t elaborate on it anymore, which sucks because I wanted to know beyond the point of giving up. And others just fake their fasting. So let me tell you what I did. First of all I fasted by not eating a single thing. Only drinking water, and a cup of brisk every time I felt hungry. I bought a 3 liter bottle of brisk since that is all I would trick my body into “consuming” but only allowed myself to drink a cup per day. On Sunday I started off great, didn’t even care. I drank my cup of brisk at night went to sleep and it was easy. Monday came and i started contemplating what to eat. But I stopped myself. I drank my first cup and played video games for hours to distract myself until the day ended. I took naps also and just did whatever to have time pass by. Tuesday I woke up starving with a dry mouth. I felt weak but didn’t care because I expected it. The whole day I spent slouching, being lazy, and not having the energy to do anything or put thought into anything. But I never slept. I couldn’t do anything I enjoyed and was so emotional towards the end of the day. Night came and I was so tired from not sleeping or napping all day that I knocked out. Wednesday comes and something happened I never knew could ever happen. MY BODY SWEAT A TOTAL OF 9 POUNDS!!! I fell asleep and kept waking up for minutes only to fall asleep again for 14 hours straight from 12am - 2pm of Wednesday. I went to sleep 115 pounds and weighed 106 pounds when I woke up! I told everybody I knew but they didn’t think much of it. I showed them my proof and everything yet no one seemed to care. They just kept telling me not to starve myself and eat. But I didn’t want to, I hate not fitting in my clothes so I brushed it off my shoulders. I went to my room and drank my cup of brisk. I did research and you can too if you don’t believe me, studies have proven that people have gone to sleep and have lost a total of 1-7 pounds of water weight. I know it’s water weight and not much will think of it but that’s a huge significance for me in my weight. So I go to sleep at the end of the day and then weirder stuff starts happening the next day. I wake up earlier than usual, I keep sweating but now my body can’t rest. I woke up at 6am and couldn’t sleep for the rest of the day. My body felt so unproductive but not having enough energy I didn’t bother to look for food. I stayed in bed ALL DAY. I was just thinking constantly, looking at the mirror constantly just to see even the slightest of change or improvement. Even trying on outfits and seeing how I fit in them now compared to before. I went to sleep Thursday weighing 104 pounds devastated. I woke up early and sweating still. Now stuff started getting technical. I realized I never drank my cup of brisk and drank two. I weighed my self and saw I was 105! I hated myself. I realized now every ounce of water or brisk I drink I will be able to see on the scale no matter what. I hated myself. I thought I lost progress and thought of a solution. I kept taking naps, doing whatever I could to sleep no matter what. Constantly the thought of self hatred and sleep motivated me to. Hours and hours of naps, Only resolved to one thing I knew would happen. I’m a heavy sweater and maybe it’s due to my weight. So when I sleep I sweat a lot, I woke up very late and weighed my self. It’s now Saturday Morning, 3:52 am and I weight 199.2 POUNDS!!!!! I can’t believe it man. I went to the first video of fasting which is this one and told my story as the video went on. I’m going to be fasting for a month, it feels like hell but I won’t allow myself to go above 200 Pounds ever again. I’ve weighed over 200 pounds for 4 years now! Never again. I’m telling this to people who want to know the results but can’t find them anywhere. I’m going to copy and paste thing comment so I can post it on comments of other videos that might resemble this one for anyone interested. I’m willing to answer to any comments whenever I’m available. Wish me luck, and good luck on fasting!
I weigh 182 now, and I’m at such a weak point. My memory is barely functional at remembering and I sleep all the time. I feel so fragile, but im mostly in a good mood. I think im going to stop now. I’ll try to later this month, I can’t even think straight right now. Next week I’ll restart the process, I want to get to 150 but I should eat now. I’ve played hours of TH-cam videos and can’t remember a single one. I literally play hour long videos to go to sleep. I’ll eat for a week then continue my fasting next Saturday.
Good video, but I disagree with a few things: 2:29 "Liver glycogen is depleted in 24 to 48 hours." That is unfortunately not always true for very metabolically sick people. Dr. Fung reported that he had a patient who could not achieve Nutritional Ketosis (the primary sign of liver glycogen depletion) after two full weeks of full water fasting. Dr. Atkins reported similar results. His diet's 20g carb "Induction" phase, which mimics full fasting, still left about 2% of his patients not yet achieving Nutritional Ketosis within two weeks. 4:18 "Your brain primarily relies on glucose to function." This is true for people who eat a carb based diet. However, once adopting a ketogenic diet with low carbs, your brain is quite content relying "primarily" on ketone bodies, with around 120g (approx.) (est.) of carbs a day for brain and red blood cell functions. Gluconeogenesis is not a "temporary" process. 4:43 Fasting consumes some of your body's stores of protein within your Lean Body Mass. This is much more than just "muscle." In fact, the discussion of Autophagy later in the video describes the beneficial effect of recycling some of these old/damaged proteins (amino acids) throughout your body, without impacting your desired muscle mass. 6:15 "Muscle loss shouldn't be as big of an issue until about 72 hours after beginning a fast." I agree, however the fasting process really "should" include the refeeding phase as well. Refeeding leads to the inverse rapid increase in lean body mass and indeed muscle, perhaps better than before starting the fast. 6:45 "Muscle loss can start happening sooner than three days if you are already lean." True, but hard to quantify, I'd definitely agree with "Lean Body Mass will start happening sooner than three days for everybody." If your body starts out at 50% water and ends up at 50% water, than 50% of your fasting weight loss will have been water. There is some water in fat cells / adipose tissue, however most of your body water is contained in your "Lean Body Mass" segment. Overall, I agree with the warning that extended fasting is more dangerous for lean people as opposed to overweight and obese people. 7:14 "At least 2/3 of that weight loss was muscle loss." That is not what the poorly written results said, as fat-free mass is not the same as muscle. I would like to see this entire study, not just the abstract. 10:40 In starvation, you will "most likely die from organ failure." Not exactly true. You will most likely die from the loss of muscle mass/strength in your diagphragm, which will likely then be classified as heart failure.
As someone who is studying the body, if you want to get into the minute details then yes; his videos aren't going to describe the exact science behind everything. However, everything he said is correct for the general population, and explained in layman's terms because the majority of his audience isn't going to understand the technicalities. Looking through your "disagreements" you start them by either saying "true", "not exactly", "I agree", "not always true". Even you understand that he is mostly correct and creating comments like this is only going to deter people from his videos because they are now going to think he's lying or being dishonest when in reality it's just you nitpicking extremely irrelevant anecdotes and intricacies that no one understands. I understand where you're coming from, but unless he says something completely wrong, comments like this; while well-intentioned, only scare people and damage their perception of this channel. While they don't get everything correct down to the atom, they provide extremely comprehensive information in well-made and entertaining videos to help the general public, don't do them a disservice.
Excellent video. I have been partial fasting for around 4 months. I eat very little, 2 times a day and go the remaining 16 hours without food, just water. I'm gonna start fasting for entire days after this video, not going more than 3 days. Thank you for the information.
I have done long fasts several times, and the results have always been beneficial. Right now I'm on Day 17 of my current fast, lost about a pound a day, and feel great, think well, and generally experience no weakness. As for hunger, it is largely a transient sensation, so that if I don't dwell on it, I don't stay hungry. I am planning to go about another week, and when I break my fast, which is really the only perilous part of the process if you overeat, I will be doing it with an Ethiopian Vegetarian combo, the best food in the world. I think the modest estimate of 3 days fasting before it becomes harmful is just ridiculous. I have at least another 10 pounds I can lose before I see any muscle under my little pouch. Right now I am 160 lbs, and have hardly lost more than an inch off my waist. I may stop at 150, maybe.
Keto and OMAD for me. I Workout fasted and feel amazing. The first week is hard but after that it gets much easier. Getting more muscular and shedding body fat fast. If I feel hungry I add a pinch of pink Himalayan salt to a glass of water and my cravings are gone, also I have a cup or two of organic black coffee a day and a table spoon of ACV with water at night. I only eat grassfed meats, organic pasture raised eggs, and only cook in organic grassfed ghee. For cheese I choose goat cheese. I also eat spinach and avocados.. I stay away from all processed foods and drink plenty of water.
I started fasting 16/8 and then 20/4. I am 1.82 m and I was 90 kg now I am 80 kg. I had some liver problems because I had entered a period of loading with all kinds of fats and sugars. Now for 7 days I keep fasting 3-4 days. I only drink organic black coffee, I don't drink juices of any kind, without white bread (it contains starch so sugar) and water which is the most important. I eat an apple almost every day (it greatly helps digestion and intestinal transit). I do push-ups almost every day and I have a very good muscle tone and I walk a lot. I feel great now, so I think fasting is number 1 for a healthy life because it allows the stimulus to feed on unhealthy fats and the cells to regenerate.
I stopped eating real food for about a month I ate 3 small bags of chips every day and drink water about 600 calories a day . Then I begin to eat real food again, and felt really sick for awhile until my body got used to the nutritions again… don’t do it be careful it can be deadly
maybe not to stop eating but eating less/much less. i felt i was overweight and i decided to eat half of what i was eating. so if i had two sandwiches, had only one. and exercised regularly. lost 30 pounds in 3 months
I'm not sure if I'm right in this but it often happens that I start workout hungry and never feel hunger after the workout (of course, I don't eat during workouts)
Been living this way for 25 years!!!! Now people are just realizing, funny that all those that criticized me for years are all of a sudden doing the same
i've enjoyed fasting and a low carb diet in the past and lost over 40lbs going from 175 down to 130 and still dropping although i don't fast anymore, i eat 2cups blueberries with a handful of raw baby spinach, then for dinner 6-8 eggs two sausage patty's(still trying to lose weight) or Chicken Breast, hamburger, bacon, butter....it the fat that causes the stomach to release a hormone to tell the Brain to stop Eating we have had enough...so other than the sugar in the blueberries in no other sugar , no grains no bread , no seed oils either, Olive Coconut,or Butter is all i cook with...i'm 60 trying to heal Afib, a bad knee, so far things are looking good...that why i eat the blueberries, o and i drink 4 16oz cups of Cacao sug free of course with a splash of heavy cream....that helps motivate my lazy stem cells to go out and fix things like my knee and heart...o and i do supplement a lot Zinc for the Prostate....
I have type 2 diabetes and started fasting intermittently every second day, where all I took was a couple of eggs, avacado, an orange and water in the morning, along with Metformin and a vitamin and mineral tablet. I went from 106 kg to 88 kg in a couple of months and am now looking to get down to about 77 to 79 kg and stay there. I'm 183 cm tall and 34 years old. Fasting is really good for weightloss and health in general. There's also a new drug developed in Denmark that's called Ozempic, that works by blocking the protein that makes us feel hunger. This is mainly a diabetic medicine, but can also be used as a way to make fasting easier.
I'd take a look at your electrolytes...with extended fasts you're actually going into ketosis and can cause an electrolyte imbalance. Make sure to supplement your sodium, potassium, and magnesium.

When I was in my 20s I made up a diet called “eat what you want, but only one small thing, and only when VERY HUNGRY”.
When I felt pangs I would sip water, tea, or coffee until very hungry, and then would eat what I was in the mood for - an apple, a hamburger without the bun, a salad, a pudding. The first day I ate six times, next day four, normal became two, until at one point I realized I hadn’t eaten for two days because I hadn’t gotten hungry. Several things happened;
The nasal congestion part is interesting because I've have several surgeries to get rid of my turbinate hypertrophy. I'm taking mental notes.

I don’t do a typical fast with an eating window. I tend to not want to eat before 8 hr intervals.
Wait 8 hours to eat 🤣, at night I would be okay, but in the day my body needs food every 4 hours or I get shaky/trembling, dizzy, nauseous and faint !

Get tired and winded easily when doing intensive physical exercise (in my case, two or so hours of beach volleyball)
Day 5) Energy is high, but mood is VERY irritable.
TLDR: I would highly recommend trying this if you are borderline overweight, or more than that.
the boost in energy is MUCH higher than that you might get from caffene or some other sources.

Me too I feel like I’m doing something wrong
The average modern human has plenty of fat to fast for a very long time. Muscle is expensive, the body won't scavenge it until it must.
calories in calories out, one day of fasting followed by eating at your maintenance calories will still lead to fat loss. it doesnt need to be longer than 3 days
i read some other studies, say fat burning will rise after the 3rd day and after that muscle will significantly decrease after 7th day ish
thus they suggest 3-7 day fasting, for no more than twice a year ish. however, same goal can be achieved by practicing 168, 186, 204 diet

But the video said positive effects up to 72 hours and then negative effects begin thereafter....
Dont do this! You'll lose the essential nutrients and minerals and then your body will burn muscles.
@skibumfajita I'm drinking 1 cup of tea with 1 square sugar for glucose
Don't exaggerate. I for myself had a only water diet from Sunday evening to Monday evening for the last 9 months. I did it for multiple reasons. One of them was to make sure to prevent the organs to grease over time.
I think it is healthier to do it for no longer than 2 days but more often maybe every 2 weeks. My weight hasn't changed at all but that isn't needed at all with 143 lbs.
For mondays I will go running instead now to build up muscles and endurance
@@AM-wg7qv na fasting is fine look at people who fast in Ramadan. It is extremely beneficial
I plan to break my fast 2moro
Before I started this keto lifestyle, my weight was 110kgs, now I am 74.3 kgs.
Trousers, pants live under the trousers
do you have a link to this process.?
@hardstyle905 eat a lot of really good food during your eating window and do compound movements for your training.
Thank you for sharing. Inspiring!
99% of people are fat because they’re lazy and/or eat poor food choices.
@@PickleThePig I respectfully disagree

I agree with almost everything you’ve stated here, but the statement that your brain will only use glucose is contradictory to many other experts opinions that in fact the brain prefers ketones for fuel over glucose… can you elaborate on this please?
> experts opinions
What? LOL
@@theothersideofthecoin3125 thanks, I wonder why so many “experts” (including Dr. Berg) say that ketones are what the brain prefers?
Ive done intermitent fasting and it benefits me a lot
Muscle loss mainly occurs in people that dont exercise while fasting. And by exercise i mean walking will do it. Doing some light exercise prevents most muscle loss in all muscles not only the ones youre excercising. There is also a muscle loss if you are not used to fasting that can happen during the transition to ketosis (using fat as fuel). So a longer fast will loose less muscle weight than many shorter fasts.
Hope this helps.
But please do your research. Videos like this often leave things out and make mistakes. (and so do comments)
For fasts longer than 3 days i suggest supplements.
Great video. Sorry for people going through hunger. By the way beside the behaviour improvement goal, Allah prescribed Ramadan fasting for health benefits. Seen on articles you've shown

Very useful and educational video!
You only discussed the negative effects of fasting more than a few days, but didnt mention how well it would work if you took vitamins and minerals during the fast?
if you are taking vitamins and minerals you are probably breaking a true fast
works great that way.

Thank you for sharing the story. 💜 May you heal and build strength; mentally and physically.
as someone with an ed too; i’m currently in quasi-recovery. i’m on the verge of a relapse, but i’m glad you’ve come out the other side. i’ve been this way for years and it probably won’t get better but it’s always nice to see people who it did get better for. thank you for spreading your positivity

I also believe fasting was the primary driver in the fat loss (keto mostly helped me stay on schedule).
at what time do you eat sir for the omad, can it actually help in the beginning with lots of cravings and what not
@@adeqnjw7362 you generally pick a time that works for you.
@@maraudentium2607 why did you choose keto?
@@Alex-mg5he it made more sense to me than other diets and the food looked better.
The body will burn fat on its own for "fuel" but of you're supplying your body with carbs/sugar it's going to burn that first rather than the fat on your body you want to get rid of.
There was a lot of talk about the "roller coaster" feeling when eating sugar/carbs (you eat in the morning, feel good, crash, eat again, feel good, crash, and repeat.
All the benefits (higher energy levels, improved mental clarity, etc...) countered the things I was struggling with (low energy, general brain fog, etc...)
The diet is limiting but it's still rather simple and contains a lot of foods I really enjoy...almost went with Paleo but didn't want to pass on cheese. My go to meal is a few skin on chicken thighs and roasted broccoli and I love it every time.

Clean eating is also an important element.Healthy foods Are also needed.👍💙
i do a 24, 36, or 48 hour fast ones a week and i love it!
One thing I’ll say on malnutrition, I’ve done a metabolic panel and a CBC blood test at day 5 of a fast and then day 18 or 19 of a 21 day fast and my lab values looked great. The only major changes were A1c which lowered from 6.1 to 5.1.
How much did you weight at the start of your fast?
You reversed your diabetes ???
6.1 is a dangerous i.e pre-statge of diabetice where as 5.1 is good and in safer zone so, A1c is aslo in positive direction...
Out of curiosity, can you please make a video explaining where fluid goes while going from your stomach to you bladder?
Like wow.
Watching this in Ramadan ❤
Was having a hard time deciding if I should continue my fast of having just one single meal per day consisting of little amounts of food in the morning and starving myself for the next 23.5 hours (in order to speed-lose weight & look skinny), or to heed my sister’s advice and still maintain a diet of 2-3 meals per day (just that it is much healthier than what I usually eat). This video finally convinced me to give up on speed-fat-loss and aim for a more effective weight & fat-loss journey on the long term instead.

Hi Noah ❤️
I have recently started doing 24 hour fast every weekend and I am feeling great.

Good video, but I disagree with a few things:
2:29 "Liver glycogen is depleted in 24 to 48 hours." That is unfortunately not always true for very metabolically sick people.
@@massimopascuzzi8870 Interesting observation. I don't think that it is true that my comment will impact anyone's view of his channel, however.

What was the benefits of fasting on your body. And how you manage it.
2 times a day it's not a sacrifice. Good luck for your fasting
Then I begin to eat real food again, and felt really sick for awhile until my body got used to the nutritions again… don’t do it be careful it can be deadly
maybe not to stop eating but eating less/much less. i felt i was overweight and i decided to eat half of what i was eating. so if i had two sandwiches, had only one. and exercised regularly. lost 30 pounds in 3 months
the extreme muscle loss has been objectively debunked - the body protects its muscle
I'm not sure if I'm right in this but it often happens that I start workout hungry and never feel hunger after the workout (of course, I don't eat during workouts)
Me too! Something I realized offlate as I’ve reintroduced workouts. I was also in a very good mood
I got my triglycerides high,
anxiety due to less food intake.
half way through the video "ALRIGHT YOU CONVINCED ME TO FAST"
Been living this way for 25 years!!!! Now people are just realizing, funny that all those that criticized me for years are all of a sudden doing the same
I do intermittent fasting-16:8. I’m able to loose weight safely & find I have more energy and ability to focus.
This channel is awesome. It’s helped me a bunch .
I try to do 48 hours each month, since September, feel great. Thanks for the explanation,
Be careful what you eat coming off a fast, start small, like 1 egg, or an avocado.

@@hanifamishfaq4902 Gravity Transformation has made videos on Intermittent fasting. Check Them out
@@hanifamishfaq4902 you are in a vide about fasting xd just dont eat for 48 hs and dont take carbs to finish the fast, just eat proteins and fat
i've enjoyed fasting and a low carb diet in the past and lost over 40lbs going from 175 down to 130 and still dropping although i don't fast anymore, i eat 2cups blueberries with a handful of raw baby spinach, then for dinner 6-8 eggs two sausage patty's(still trying to lose weight) or Chicken Breast, hamburger, bacon, butter....it the fat that causes the stomach to release a hormone to tell the Brain to stop Eating we have had enough...so other than the sugar in the blueberries in no other sugar , no grains no bread , no seed oils either, Olive Coconut,or Butter is all i cook with...i'm 60 trying to heal Afib, a bad knee, so far things are looking good...that why i eat the blueberries, o and i drink 4 16oz cups of Cacao sug free of course with a splash of heavy cream....that helps motivate my lazy stem cells to go out and fix things like my knee and heart...o and i do supplement a lot Zinc for the Prostate....
This is mainly a diabetic medicine, but can also be used as a way to make fasting easier.
are you healed of diabetes now?
I don't believe for any so called supplements (dangerous substances contained) for loss fats. Simply natural fasting
@@vinizan there isn't a way to heal diabetes
@@notscar i heard statments of people that did
Awesome 💕
What happens when I have a strong headache during fasting? Is that normal?
I'd take a look at your electrolytes...with extended fasts you're actually going into ketosis and can cause an electrolyte imbalance. Make sure to supplement your sodium, potassium, and magnesium.
@@maraudentium2607 thanks a lot! I'll try that out!
I'm very glad to hear this. I stopped eatting ass months ago. Now that I'm back on track, I've never been healthier.
