  • I interview Ricky, an Australian expatriate who made the life-altering decision to move to Thailand with his beloved Thai wife in 2021. The journey took an unexpected turn when tragedy struck just three months ago, as Ricky's wife succumbed to the devastating effects of dengue fever.
Ricky opens up about the profound impact of his wife's sudden and heartbreaking passing. He shares the raw emotions, challenges, and the daily struggles he faces while grappling with the loss of his life partner. He discusses his uncertain future. With two daughters to consider, he reflects on the difficult decisions he must make regarding whether to continue living in Thailand or to return to Australia.
Additionally, Ricky confronts negative comments he has received on his TH-cam channel, sharing his perspective and addressing the judgment that has come his way during this difficult period.
Join us in this profound and poignant conversation as we unravel the layers of Ricky's story, exploring the fragility of life, the power of resilience, and the indomitable human spirit that rises from the ashes of tragedy. #rickyinissan #thairishtimes #deathofmythaiwife

There are a lot of many missing pieces in this whole story. Weeks after his wife suddenly died, the guy gets a girlfriend and they decorate his new house together and even celebrates valentine day. He is so lazy! He doesn’t look after his kids too or only when it’s convenient for him, very very sketch. I hope Eids family take custody of the poor babies. Eid family never liked him to begin with. Hmmm

I mean no disrespect but perhaps there is more to this story than he is willing to share? Completely moving on weeks after your partners sudden death is almost unheard of in my opinion.

I definitely think moving on from the death of a spouse after 3 months in highly inappropriate, disrespectful and troubling but I'm not going to dictate how others live their life or navigate based on my moral compass. He ought to be solely focused on his twins and their health rather than the happiness of his groin region.

I like and enjoy your videos very much Pete. I am sorry and please excuse my little english grammar as I want to explain the truth.
Many people not know the truth behind this story of Pi Eid. I am her group of personal friend for long time and FC. Eid was very frustrate and upset jjst 2/3 day before she pass away. She tell her friends she want to separate from husband Ricki. He no work and no support her and she always tired take care of new babies by herself. She also worry and not sure if ricki met and chat with another girlfriend:( when she pass away unexpectedly, we are so shocked and can’t believe it’s real or not???
Now this man is happy to accept money and gifts from FC and making profit from TH-cam. And what about the poor babies??? So sad isn’t it? Because they don’t understand and yai and Eid family said he want to live pamper life with his girlfriend and not look after babies good. He send them threating message too. Eid family still not sure about real cause of death but no do autopsy:(
I hope that all makes sense and you all understand that he is not as innocent to be :(

    Hello Pete ,
At first I was saddened by this story and shamelessly DONATED even , but I had to unsubscribe to this mans channel .
My intuition is telling me something is not quite right here . Maybe there should be a “ PART 2 INTERVIEW “
Unpopular opinion : But I believe he is now glorifying his new found fame and attention . It’s unfortunate because I am yet to see him step up as a father . It’s getting repetitive , the lack of common sense and accountability for anything , little to no affection due to filming , not buying their own basic needs like cribs , diapers , clothes , toys , play pen , mats , cooling system AND not to mention , the awkward interactions with Eid’s family !
And when he does choose to have the babies , they are the star of the show which certainly generates more views and revenue ! I am unsure what he even did for work before Eid tragically passed ?? TH-cam is fickle . The hard truth is that nobody would still be watching him without his babies . I’m sorry but to all his followers - You can’t keep playing the “ he deserves to be happy and move on card “. He removed all the photos of Eid from his socials , put up photos of his new GF in his house ( haven’t seen a single 1 of EID) AND I have noticed he has taken over her TH-cam channel and changed the name . It is a bit eerie that he almost seems relieved and joyful to fully close that chapter . He acts like he is doing the Thai family a favour by giving them visiting rights. I mean cmon now ? Let’s all agree there’s more to it then that
There are a lot of followers encouraging this man’s irresponsible and reckless behaviour and that’s the concerning part ! Praising him for doing the bare minimum . As I said , I was ONCE a supporter but I am calling it for what it is . He wants to the cheap , easy and retired life style but at what COST !?

We make the mistake to belief, that if we go to hosital the doctors and nurses can help us with everything. Often they can, but with Dengue they can not !!! There are no pharmacies to fight it. The invection numbers in Thailand have doubled in just one year.
That aedes tiger mosquito is day activ. Who applies repellent in the morning?
Since this year there is a vaccine for all 4 sorts of dengue develloped in Japan:
QDENGA. Got accreditation in Europe, Brazil, Indonesia, Thailand, USA soon. From age 4. Two shots in 6-8 weeks. Protection for the entire life.

My 5 year old niece in the Philippines got really sick and it was Dengue confirmed by a blood test. We took her to the pediatrician who explained that the 3rd day is when the fever breaks but this is the danger period. For some people, their platelets crash so you can bleed out internally. if you do not get to a hospital within 24 hours. Our niece was fine - her platelets were holding but my Filipina wife and I learned that if anyone gets sick with a high fever then they need a blood test to check for Dengue and if confirmed follow up blood tests to check platelet counts.
. ps we live in a city so Dengue cases are rare but my sister in law had taken her daughter out to the country side so I assume this is where she encountered that type of carrier mosquito.

Picked up on this very soon after he sadly lost his wife, maybe within a day or two. They'd not long had their twins, and it's difficult to comprehend how to cope with all of that.
The sad thing for me, was that the dark side of the internet came forward, where people were questioning whether this was true, and the level of ignorance and disrespect was monumental. Those are thoughts you might have, but you certainly do not vocalise them, or post them online for the world to see. Its fine to be toxic in your own little bubble, and only you are affected, but it is not fine to then publish those thoughts for the world to see.
A very good friend of mine, he was in his early 20's, married to the love of his life, and with a son on the way. Wife gets diagnosed with bowel cancer during the pregnancy. As you might expect, treatment was not possible until after the birth, at which point it was terminal, and she passed when the boy was just 9 months. He then, within a year, lost his Dad, then his Mum, basically all of his support network. He was an only child. I genuinely do not know how he made it out the other side. He's certainly stronger than I would have been, and the same goes for Ricky.

If Ricky has not acquired any high academic achievement, it would be fine to give it a try, on his mom's career at the mine back in Aussie. As an Asian my suggestion is, for Ricky to indulge even more, in Thai culture, at least for the time being. What really matters is the twin, to raise them without losing their roots. I pray that everything ahead should be handled accordingly, the bright future will never shy from risk. Stay strong Ricky and Pete I reckon it's nice for you, to visit Ricky there....? ❤

In my opinion, take your twins to Australia so you will receive a financial support in Australian government...besides. Australian education is much much better than in Thailand. I'm pretty sure being a professional yourself could land a good job with a good pay.
You can also sell your property in Thailand so you could start a new life with your twins in Australia, besides your family is there to support you.
