She combines having a big impactful voice with a unique tone all her own, she possess a musical intellect that allows her singing skills that usually takes a lifetime of performing to acquire. Angelina can sing sweet, smooth and operatic or she can get down, soulful, raspy and sound like she singing at Muddy Waters Checkerboard Lounge. Angelina is absolutely amazing, her progression isn't from year to year or month to month, it's song to song. Just when you've been blown away by Angelina, you hear her next new song and she blows you away even more. You've got to hear her cover of Whitney's IF I WERE A BOY and her new song BAD VALENTINE. Two completely different songs sung in completely different styles, which is all Angelina and makes her so so special.

I must admit I love all the songs from these shows. She had to back off a bit on a few as she was singing 38 "big" songs and needed to conserve her voice a little. Even so they are all fantastic. There is just no way that Adele can bring the level of emotion laden penetration that Angelina brings to heartfelt ballads and it is, once again, obvious in this presentation. The effect Billie Holiday has had on Angelina's ballad singing is enormous, for it was Billie who invented so many inventive inflections, nuance, breathy, whisper like releases, going from talking to singing within lyrical lines, and released emotion that just reaches the furthest depths of the human soul. All these facets have been mastered by Angelina as she adds her own personal 'Jazz like' identity vocally whenever performing. Is it any surprise that Angelina has said, 'If not for Billie Holiday, there would be no Angelina Jordan'. No other singer is placed alongside Billie at the top of the musical pedestal by Angelina, for she is her true musical mentor.
I like the idea of barefoot "canaries" testing the stage before Angelina goes out to make sure it's safe :) I am sure if that was suggested as a real option there would be plenty of volunteers...
