You should check out the podcast "Wrapped in a Warm Blanket". Maybe you could be a guest--that would be interesting to share. Angelina has never lost her ability to connect with the listener or the song and has impacted more people with her music in a way I have never before seen. In whatever way you would wish to do it I strongly recommend the trip down the Angelina Jordan rabbit hole---she is an incredibly talented individual but who she is as a person is as rare as her singing talent. The earliest song of Angelina's, on You Tube and in her own memory, is "I Will Always Love You", the Whitney version, sung in her cot at 18 months - at least a part of the song... in tune and fascinating to watch. There is a lot of jazz being performed around the world; it just isn’t played on radio stations. When I was in Paris last summer, every cab drive had jazz on the radio. I have been in jazz bands for the last 50 years.
A few more thoughts for your consideration: 1) Angelina is from Norway, so she speaks Norwegian in addition to the perfect American English you heard here; 2) Her book about giving her shoes to a young orphan girl in the Middle East (likely in Iran, where her grandma is from) was published when she was 9, making Angelina the youngest published author in Norway's history; and 3) The conversation with the girl on the street in Iran would have to have been in Farsi, as the girl wouldn't know Norwegian or English. To sum up: Angelina is obviously capable and talented, but also has a heart big enough to give the shoes off her feet to a young barefoot girl in need. Welcome to Angelina's world!

Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on TH-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Don't expect much from her 18 month old song (which was Whitney not jazz btw) the very fact that she is attempting this at that age is the real wow not her ability. After winning Norway's Got Talent Angelina or her family were trying to increase America's public awarness of Angelina without fully commiting to restrictive deals with large music companies. Great reaction! I love seeing the look of wonderment and joy of someone listening to Angelina for the 1st time, or even listening to a new song from her. No matter how much you mentally prepare for it, she always surprises with her talent.
There is a lot of jazz being performed around the world; it just isn’t played on radio stations. When I was in Paris last summer, every cab drive had jazz on the radio. I have been in jazz bands for the last 50 years.

@ you can be sure that there is jazz in your community as most musicians make money with pop, country, etc but play jazz for fun.
A few more thoughts for your consideration: 1) Angelina is from Norway, so she speaks Norwegian in addition to the perfect American English you heard here; 2) Her book about giving her shoes to a young orphan girl in the Middle East (likely in Iran, where her grandma is from) was published when she was 9, making Angelina the youngest published author in Norway's history; and 3) The conversation with the girl on the street in Iran would have to have been in Farsi, as the girl wouldn't know Norwegian or English. To sum up: Angelina is obviously capable and talented, but also has a heart big enough to give the shoes off her feet to a young barefoot girl in need. Welcome to Angelina's world!

Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on TH-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz.
Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.
Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate.
At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on TH-cam went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed Frank Sinatra “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on TH-cam. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. On May 16, 2024, the first fruits of Angelina's cooperation with Tobi Gad were released. This German composer and record producer based in Los Angeles invited Angeline to an intimate concert at the Hotel Cafe JESSE & FRIENDS, the same one where Adel sang and was discovered. Tobi then took Angelina to London, where she performed His song If I Were A Boy at the London Palladium, and they recorded two versions of the song, Live At Saint James Church, and another studio version illustrated with a film from the streets of London. Actually, the first song that Angelina sang at 1 1/2 years old was a portion of Dolly Parton/Whitney Houston's I will always love you - and yes there is a video - she performed I Put a Spell On You at age 9 (not 6).

Don't expect much from her 18 month old song (which was Whitney not jazz btw) the very fact that she is attempting this at that age is the real wow not her ability. Ace, she was on a world tour in 2014, after winning Norway got talent . So the television station had to hurry up and request her. They got the player.

A few things to note about the video before you watch it [/react to it]: (1) Despite the length of the video, you should be prepared for the fact that Angelina doesn't actually end up singing very much of the song, because, you know, she's literally a baby. (2) The woman heard singing behind the camera is her mother, Sara, who is trying to get Angelina to repeat for the camera what she had witnessed her doing off-camera [no doubt recording it to show other family members]. (3) The video starts to repeat at around the 3m17s mark, but if you skip to around 5m30s, you can see a little extra bit that wasn't seen in the first half of the video, where Angelina says something in Norwegian (I don't know what).

After winning Norway's Got Talent Angelina or her family were trying to increase America's public awarness of Angelina without fully commiting to restrictive deals with large music companies. The View being a popular daytime show was a reasoably simple and sure way to increase her public exposure without committing to record deals as a relatively unknown singer. Some documentaries of a young Angelina show her to already have a large collection of stuffed toys and dolls from a young age, probably like most young girls, only more so. So the gift presentation of more stuffed dolls was probably well thought out and very appropriate.
