@artisticear402: Thank you for putting into words what I also feel about FVM's analysis of this song and her understanding of Angelina's voice development from the age of 6. I must confess I was disappointed when this recording dropped as there seemed to be so much hanging on it in terms of a responsibility to please her fans on the one hand and repay Republic's considerable investment in her on the other ... compared with the rich back-catalogue of iconic songs she has used to hone her voice, this one seemed trite ... a waste of her hard-earned skills which we have all marvelled at (and which has caused FVM to burst into tears, in the past) as we have applauded at every milestone over the past 10 years. But listening to FVM's forensic analysis of how a seemingly simple melody is actually the perfect vehicle for her million dollar voice has convinced me that all is not lost! Yes, Grandma Meri is her mom’s (Sara) mom, and she’s from Iran. She is a poet and artist (painter) and introduced Angelina to the great Jazz singers of the past as a very young child.
(PS Lolli, don't know if you got a chancemto read in the live comments but here is what Angelina said. Angie said she wrote this about LOVE itself and not about being in love but her talking to LOVE itself. Deep lyrics for a 17 yr old. ❤)

The control she has is amazing - all the years of singing really shows through already. Imagine what she will be like in another 5 - 10 years when she has hit that stable vocal point.
About her being a child prodigy, it's good that her family didn't push for a big career when she was still a kid. The result is many people still don't know who she is and will discover her as an adult and won't have unreasonable expectations.
Additionally most adults are poorly equipped to deal with fame, it can be even more damaging to children.
Good lord she is classy as all heck. She gives of elvis level vibes of calm charisma from a silver age of music and screen. Shes wonderful.
I interpret this song as her not singing to a person but to love itself. It's funny because I feel Angelina is love. It resonates out of her pores

While the family obviously lives a comfortable life, her parents are too smart to let that Porsche be her first car. If it's a real 356 speedster, then it could easily be worth 400K dollars. Throw in a vintage guitar, and a 6' pretty model-like teen learning to drive in Los Angeles...and you're asking for trouble. All that, plus the car has no real way to lock.
I wonder if Angelina and her sister, have borrowed a car and driven thru a Taco bell or In&out burger for lunch, just to escape! These are the things I need to know.
Fantastic job FVM, I'm so happy she has a well written song to introduce her to the world. What a treat for those new fans to discover Angelina right now. They can be amazed as we were, realizing she has a decade of video's to watch. I wish you would go back and break down Angelina's performance of "Every time We Say Goodbye" live on top of a TV station's roof. She says goodbye to Norway on her way to the airport. Another perfect example of nuanced singing.

@@103mrg LOL ......yeah they were very careful with those camera angles. I read the car and guitar are from Rob Christie. At one point the camera shows no feet in the passenger area. Did we lose Grandma along the way? It was already a long response, I just cut it short. Anyway, the family car is a Lamborghini Urus SUV. That's likely to be far more luxury, safety and security for a new teen driver, than a 50+ year old open top Porsche spyder. Anyway....I love the song, the performance and the FVM above all.

You do know that when AJ was 10years old that she Recorded her own version of Back to Black ,, she had to rewrite the entire song because after her mom saw the adult lyrics of Amy's she said she was not going to sing that at 10 years old she rewrote it the night before the recording without changing a single note for the band

This genius we call Angelina Jordan
How is it possible that all of the greatest vocalists in my lifetime to date can be combined into one being that is so unique, and that this person has the support, and resources of her family to promote her genius? We then have to consider the vehicle to carry AJ to us, the internet, the chances that all of these variables would be combined are one in several billion. As for the new song, "Love Don't Let Me Go", I have now played it 62 times, and AJ's signature, storytelling vocals are hypnotizing.
With the 4 inch heals AJ has on at the start of the video she would be standing 6 feet 5 inches tall, she is 6-foot 1 inch barefooted.
AJ wrote this tune, I wonder who the co-writers were, Lana Del Raye, or Redone, or Stargate out of Norway?

Angelina is true sweetheart. Love her, and that is why I worry about her. The system brakes everyone. Sooner or later she will have to pass that door, there is no other way up in this industry, and that is when they will chop it. Not the foot, not even the head, they will rip her heart out. I saw many young prodigies turned into dirt as the right moment comes. Well, miracles do happen, and even if not, we still do not stop hoping for it. Our Angel has arrived. This is almost (and maybe is) the perfect song for her debut. The video is great, the lyrics are beyond great, and then there’s her voice. I am really looking forward to the album.

I am consistently amazed at how fantastic her backing instrumentals are in every single piece she performs. I understand she arranges everything herself (unless that has changed). To score these instrumentals AND have her ability as a vocalist is really something.

Great reaction! First time I heard and saw this I was like WOW!!! The surprise of the video, her Grandma Mery is in it! This has everything that should make this a big hit. To see someone (you) with such depth of musical theory and awareness brought to tears by that voice. It validated what had just happened to me, being brought to tears by that voice.

Transition from a child prodigy to an adult global superstar is really hard because of huge amount of expectation which can crush any teen promising singer but angelina could handle that pressure perfectly like everything else she does perfectly and now look at her. Sky is a limit for her 👍👍💙💙💙

Over 40 plus years I have waited and waited patiently for a masterpiece like this to come along and here it is FINALLY!!...And it's mind boggling to think that it was created and sung by 17 year old prodigy, a genius...I get a nonstop chills and goosebumps each time I listen to this. Angelina has musical notes run thru her veins. And she also have grown into a living goddess, WOW!!.. Great reaction my friend. Cheers..
