Hi Jason thanks for posting this video it looks like it will be of great use to me.I have recently purchased a 2000 Ficht 225 Evinrude with an unbelievable 17 hrs on it looks Like new and despite all of the bad press I thought you can read as much shit as you like on the net And I bit the bullet as they say and guess what after having the engine less than a season the computer has blown with only 55 hrs on it so I well pissed off now.Jason can you tell me how was the service with Dfi technologies did they see you proud as I ha e read on forums a could of people complaining of poor service and there emm blow up again and dfi trying to avoid them. So I'm a bit nervous of using them . How is your engine running now Jason did you just bolt the emm back on plug it in and presto away you go back on the water or did you need a technician to set it all up on the computer with the right program? Please can you give a fellow cash strapped Ficht owner some decent advice it would be much appreciated cheers Glen
My experience with DFI was great, I also heard negative comments, but I physically drove to Orange Beach and dropped it off. Once the EMM was plugged into place, at the end of this video, I simply put the top on and drove it on the lake, no set up needed, three years later it is still running great
That 'red wire, that serves no purpose' 5 a fuseable link. Did it go to ground aswel? I have a 115 to refit an emm to soon, but i didnt remove it and it wasnt labled. Cheer's

Since an attempt was made to start it from the outside and consequently the computer module was apparently damaged. The computer is a Ficht brand. I would like to know if you have availability of the Evinrude EMM FICHT computer, in if case yes and if you can ship to Argentina and what its value is. I thank you in advance for your attention.
Hello! I want to ask you a question about my 60 hp evinrude engine. I have to change the EMM and I want to know if when I put it on the engine it works automatically or should I install it in some way? Thank you
Not sure about the 60 hp, installation should be very similar. My understanding, the EMM either works, or doesn’t. I would give it a try and see what happens, good luck!
Im looking at a boat with a very low hour 225 ficht. all I see is bad things said about them. How do you rate your motor and what issues have you experienced with it? Thanks
I have heard that the Ficht that have more hours are usually fine. There are a few mods that people make, such as direct water feed to the computer instead of routing through the vapor canister. There is also something with the lower that I have heard that people do to prevent overheating of the lower. But people with older ones that are running say that they are as reliable as anything else. Just keep the water flow route to the computer clean. I just bought a twin engine boat with two 99 Evinrude 200s and they are fine (after a fuel pump replacement).
I have had zero problems with this motor except for this one. It runs amazing, starts on the first try after sitting all winter, it is garage stored therefore never winterized. The fuel economy is amazing for a two-stroke
The motor would simply die, no warning, regardless of idle or throttle status. I would put it back in neutral, restart and drive again until it shut off very sporadically, that was my main symptom
