    Always happy to see an update! The garden looks great, and everything looked so lush after the rain. Glad the pond if at capacity, and I hope you’ll find time to film another update in August.

    Very inspirational. You both are doing an amazing job; your place looks beautiful!!! I will love to see tutorials if you are willing to share how you take a new area and make it as weed free as yours. Mine is absolutely wild, which is great for the wildlife but very hard to keep the grass and weeds out of the beds.

    The place is popping with life, wonderful to see. I reckon you could make a great video just doing a before/after of the cleanup/woodchipping of the 3 year old food forest there, "yeah i know this system is supposed to be minimal input, but we're a few years in, other projects got ahead on the priority list and now we've got a few days of maintenance to take care of" is gonna be perennially relatable, I suspect. Plus whatever's in that thicket might throw a few interesting surprises in the mix also

    • @BoscosGarden
      @BoscosGarden  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely. Thanks a mill for the suggestion. I'd love to do more on the main food forest. There are indeed a few surprises over there. Everytime I walk over, I get lost for about an hour 😅. Really can't wait to get started on its 2nd phase now that the trees are doing so well.

    So happy to see the pond holding water during that dry spell.
    Lots of hover flys around. I wounder are you seeing lacewing or ladybirds? I've not seen a single one of ether this year...

    • @BoscosGarden
      @BoscosGarden  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's up to the brim again now and it seems to be holding even better as it matures. Thanks for all the advice with the GCL man! Couldn't have done it without you. We have LOADS of ladybirds this year already, many different types too, and way more tortoiseshell butterflies than last year. I haven't seen any lacewings yet. It's still a little early for ladybirds. last year I didn't see many until late summer, so hopefully they'll turn up for you.

    • @odhrancrowe3894
      @odhrancrowe3894 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Guess I'm been a bit hasty. I've been scanning pepper leaves for lacewing eggs. But as you say a balanced eco system is what we are looking for. A niche for everything to fulfill its role. German camomile is great for red soldier beetle also.
      Great to see it all looking so well. And in such a short time. Imagine 3 more years!

    • @BoscosGarden

      @odhrancrowe3894 Currently listening g to the begging call of some long eared owl chicks nesting in the ash trees. Never heard them here before, so absolutely delighted
      Plenty of bats flying around too! 3 more years, it will be incredible... can't wait to get working on mulching the food forest.

      Heya, thanks! We're in Kilkenny, Ireland. We have befriended a few tree surgeons over the years, and they use our place as an easy drop-off point for woodchip when they are working in the area and need to get rid of it.
