GLaDOS: well this is the part where he kills us Wheatley: hello this is the part where i kill you Chapter title: the part where he kills you Achievement: this is the part Music: the part where he kills you
Wow! This covered so much i needed to know (mostly vactubes but thanks so much mate!) Plus i made 3 wheatley styled maps and sadly they couldn't be uploaded to the p2 workshop because of an error, maybe they were to big but hopefully you could give some advice
The only error I have ever encountered on the stage of actually uploading maps is the classic "don't have PeTI ents" error. Though if it is something different you could probably use the Discord link in the description and ask around about it.
Could you make a tutorial on how to do the GLaDOS cleanup theme? eg, panels "waking up" and going back into place, slightly overgrown, GLaDOS repairing the facility after the wakeup sequnce. Thanks!
Panels going into place are very easy to do, just search up "portal 2 hammer panels" or smth like that and there will be a valve forum how to make panels, there are tons of animations to choose from and there are "powerup" animations that will resemble that "going into place" sequence. Hope that helps
@@dacat7549 Thanks for replying but I already knew most of this. I just started with hammer and I watched a few tutorials on how to make panels, but I think it would take forever to place each panel for every startup panel I want to make. Anyways, I just wanted to know if this guy could make a tutorial on that type of style. Thanks!
@@jamesnewo8131 yea, I feel like it would take forever, it takes me forever to place even a few panels, anyway I don't think he will make videos for now, he is working on a mod and alot of maps
@@dacat7549most of the panels in wake-up only require you setting animations for them, while on the other hand, the panels in the chamber hallways have their own func_instances
well thanks for the tutorial, i even improved it a lot because my old one that i made when i was 16, it was bad, but i decided to do a remake of it. plus i added a little bit of details
i tried beemod... its stupid. the palletes dont export correctly, so its useless. now i use hammer. the only reason i tried beemod is bc a professional hammer creator reccomended beemod.
@@ShortGamerOff You just gotta set up beemod right. I dont remember how i did it exactly because it was a few years ago. You can make some crazy good looking shit with it and a few add-ons like QOL items (that adds some stuff and most importantly broken walls with bits of bts). You just need a lot of practice. Even overgrown can look good if you know exactly what you are doing. I personally used it for like... 2 years? Its just a nice tool if you dont want to go too hard on deco. Which i want to do now, so I am learning hammer now. But really i think we shouldnt be comparing them. They both have their niches. Hammer gives you full control over the map, at the cost of one hell of a learning curve and generally being not very intuitive. Beemod is for people who only care about the puzzle aspect (with just a bit of deco), with more functions then standart peti provides, while still being easy to use.
Sorry, I (@nuclearshill) have been really busy with making my own mod and making workshop maps, as well as running the Portal Mapping and Modding Discord. I will eventually be making map timelapses.
i dont know if you've figured it out by now, but basically: You select the cut tool in the side bar, and in one of the 2D viewports, draw out the line that you want to cut (the entire wall or floor or whatever that you want to cut has to be selected first) then once it's selected, click on the cut tool icon again, and once you click on it two times it will make a cut through your wall or floor or what have you, but it won't delete it! hope this helps!
looks pretty mastered to me, I'm not the one to judge tho, I haven't released a hammer map yet and the one I'm making rn has been in the making for 1-2 weeks now, other people could make mine in a couple hours!
