We fished De Hoop Nature Reserve on a tagging project. De hoop is a Marine Protected area and they use these fishing trips as an impact study. Ten Anglers are invited to fish four days in the MPA, the goal is to catch tag and release as many fish as possible whilst gathering as many data and information as possible.

Woww, one can tell from AJ's reaction when he caught that Poens how special it is🏆Well done guys... Here we have a Springbok angler that have fished many, many hours at the highest level of competence and after many years he finally gets his dream fish. It is no coincidence that it happened in a MPA... Very, very special indeed. We need more MPA's👌🏻

Hi Boet I agree the fish populations are depleted along our coastlines however I don't think the blame lays solely with us rec fisherman. I think poaching,mismanagement and illegal commercial fishing also have a really big roll to play as well. Thanks for your show always enjoy it . Kind Regards Marcus Pringle Bay.

I have fished there a few times...great fishing, but the species are limited, things like a poensie and yellow bellies are special fish to catch.Planning a trip to Namib again soon.

Also thank you for setting a good example, people seem to keep absolutely everything when they go fishing , I've seen fisherman kill Skammies and Pajamas so they don't bite again . That makes me want to commit a violent act lol. keep up your good catch and release policy and hopefully it will one day rub off on some of these morons that fish around here. Regards Marcus
