Bizarre for sure! Is it not possible that all the bronzies were swimming into your lines and getting the 'bit' inbetween their teeth as it were? in other words, they weren't really picking up the crab at all.

Hi. I've been watching your rig and knot tying videos. All good. You give great advice. When it comes to names of fish and baits, sometimes you use words or terms that seem specifically South African or Afrikaans, and sometimes I have difficulty understanding those, but the more I listen, the better I can figure them out. One thing I haven't figured out yet is what "aki legs" means. ("aki legs" is how TH-cam captions it.) Is that octopus legs? Or something else? I looked online on South African fishing sites and in Afrikaans dictionaries. I have an old Afrikaans dictionary (1970s or 1980s) and I looked up every possible combination of letters that might be pronounced like "aki" and I found no suitable answer.
