- Finally after 3 days of travel we could drive down the beach to fish. day one was all about testing the area and trying to find some sort of a pattern. our targeted species were Garrick also known as leervis as well as the big shad/elf or Tailor as the call them in Australia, in the states they are known as blue fish. We targeted these fish using lures only, the nurse we used were teflon surface plugs as well as some metal spoons. I played around a bit with some jigs and ducktail jigs and had some good succes on them.

i lived Luanda Angola for a year, i didnt know that such a big fishes there .... i fished n caught small breams in government pier. police guards always ask me some money for fishing ... tailor ^^ exactly i caught them in Perth Aussie 2003, but jersey buddies called blue fish 2007. Anyway i miss Luanda and portugues ^^ obrigado

The first bunch of fish they caught looked very similar to the Bluefish we in North America catch all along the Atlantic and Gulf coast!

We call those bluefish in the states. They’re really oily fish here. I heard their leaner in other parts of the world
