Witsand Kayak Comp 2020 - Part 1

So the time has come and at no better ...
The COVID-19 virus causing mayhem all over the comp still went ahead BUT was limited to 50 entrants.
Then upon arrival we were told that the comp's fishing boundaries were opened from Knysna to Strand, back in Cape Town.
This caused a stirr with quite a few as some were saying the comp needs to be in Witsand to boost the community while others said they could have saved money on accommodation and all that by fishing closer to home. Never the less it was a great comp & those who were in Witsand had a great time together.
Looking forward to next year already!
A big thanks to Brian Jacob of Legend Kayaks for sending me a unit to quickly fit on my Trident for the comp. Without the Lowrance unit I don't think I would have found that little reef.

Nice video. We arrived the Sunday and went out with local Wihan Wegewarth for 3 days until the lodge closed and sent us home due to Covid-19. Weather was amazing! Managed some nice grunter right in front of lodge on pencil bait. Biggest was 69 cm. Managed to get a leerie to follow my plug, but no strike. Cob was nowhere to be seen.
