Kob and Black Mussel Cracker Fishing in the Transkei! Fishing at Nqabara! Remote Fishing Gem! Ep. 3

After getting to know the around this fishing paradise in the Transkei, we knew what to do and where to go! Our targeted species for the day was Kob and Poensies also known as Black mussel crackers! We waited for the right tide the morning to get to the reefs where these fish hang around! we immediately got into the fish from the first throw! the Nqabara area in the Transkei is truly a hidden fishing paradise in South Africa! Certainly some of the best rock and surf land based fishing I have ever done!

Without a shadow of a doubt you produce the best shore fishing videos by a long way, unfortunately the music does seem to blight some of them. In my opinion there's no better sound than the surf itself, might be an age thing if so I'll say no more about it. It won't stop me watching them keep them coming 👍

Thank you. Yeah I would prefer not to use music, but then again some guys do like it. So I try to balance it a bit throughout the edit with a bit music here and there and a slowmo here and there. But thanks for the kind words! I do appreciate the honesty too!

Spent the greater part of my youth at Nqabara, spent many hours fishing those waters and the Nqabara river, got many fond memories and plenty stories of that beautiful place.

Xander. As always, I’d like to borrow some advice. Spoke to local at danabaai that says live black tail is excellent bait for bronzies and black ray. Do you agree? Won’t a black tail be too heavy to cast/swim your sinker loose? Thanks so much for the videos and advice.

They will eat it definitely, but getting mullets is easier and also casting a mullet is easier. So no need to waste energy trying to get a blacktail

Hi Xander, watched you video on rod and reel matching, I would really appreciate some advice, I’m no pro, but fortunate to be able to have quite a few setups( nothing fancy ranging from size 40 on 7.8ft, 55 on 8.8ft), go to rock fishing for edible’s is a Precision 14 paired up with a Saltiga 8000, which I like, but have a Penn Regiment 15ft currently with a Saltis 40h multiplier (surf fishing) but want to use it with a grinder as well, would you recommend a 10000 size or is that too big? Thanks in advance 👍🏻

But look at the damage does to taking fish, no one can deny it causes damage I mean look at whole starting to form on the cob that's been tagged. Shame I think it does more harm than good especially with cob
