after spending the last 5 weeks playing left of EVERYTHING! Just shot the best round of my year, this is great 😁stuff, THANKS Andy you have kept me from going insane, really
I feel that when I hit pull shots it is also because I don't weight shift onto a firm left side which allows the right side to overpower the left. If I concentrate on the weight shift to the left at the start of the downswing this helps stop the unwanted right shoulder move.
I always pull the irons Andy even though I hit the driver straight. This is a super video for explaining and after just a few swings at home I see that I am wrong with the shoulders and the grip. This is a video I have been waiting for as it is very precise with explaining what I need to do with the swing, thanks mate.
Hello Andy , I am a decent golfer ( 7 hp ) but I have always been plagued by wedges pulls.I got rid of this flaw by lifting my hands at address ( automatically the wedge club head opens up , it is easy to notice this with a magnet ) and changing my swing ( only with the wedges ) so my backswing is steep and the downswing is shallow ( A Swing of Leadbetter, Jim Furyk, Matthew Wolff, etc,etc ).That said I totally agree with what you said on your video, I have just used a different method
I have been searching for a cure to iron pull and driver's slice for over a year. Especially when I'm getting tired. The trail shoulder turning down and not around (horizontally) is the cure. It allows straight club path. I find this explanation useful: if you turn your trail shoulder around horizontally, then your upper torso and arms are turned left and off target line, and your arms swing and are in a left direction plane. Turning your trail shoulder down prevents this early upper torso twist to the left. You're welcome
So many great tips in this video. Addresses not only the subject matter of the video (how to stop missing wedges) but so many other essential points too, such as the relationship between path and face and transitions. Relevant both to new and experienced golfers as well as low and high handicappers. Top work 👍
Thks again Andy. This problem also appears sometimes with the pitch. Grip and shoulder advance should my problem as you beautiful explained in this video
Thanks Andy, I had already fixed my pulling and I'm dead on with aim. I could not understand why I was now 10 yard short! I glad I waited to the end of your video because now I know why I was short. I will try it this week end. So excited.
Andy, I have suffered from this exact problem, but lately, I have been setting my club in practice swings at the bottom, then turning to the top of the swing, bringing it down the same and I must say I'm hitting it straight but more consistently. As you have said, the distance to start with was shorter, but now, because the strike is better, I'm hitting my normal distances. A great explanation and of great use to a lot of us hackers😂❤❤❤
After a 33 year hiatus from golf, a couple of weeks ago I had my first lesson in 37 year, and despite already knowing all of this, subconsciously I was swinging slightly out to in, and I'd been working on neutralising my swing for months; 8 months ago, when I first started playing again, I was slicing the ball badly, I then got into a bad habit of strengthening my grip to compensate, resulting in a pull or a hook. I knew it was time for a lesson, but I have to say, the best thing I've found for this problem is the GEM training aid. Coupled with this knowledge, it's got me into the lower 80s on seriously hard courses. It's a work in progress, but I feel that just setting up with the GEM before I play gets me to be much more conscious of that correct move. Great video, thank you for making it!
Andy thank you for this video, this is 100% what is going on with my swing. my game isnt bad... but wow.. hit me right in the feels hope it helps pick up 5-7 strokes!!
When the pressure is on I pull my irons…. My driver is always between a straight to a draw/hook - I don’t slice or pull my driver and I never understood why. I have been trying to groove the feeling of the shoulder going down instead of out
Hi Andy. My miss is the pull/pull-hook and its interesting because I very much have an in to out swing but I am shutting the face at address. I almost never miss my driver right. Worth mentioning.
Thank you for engaging! My club face is open on the way down so its a last second compensation. Currently my coach has me working on a more neutral path (exaggerating the out to in), attack angle and face staying more neutral. Does that help? @@andycartergolf
This is me! By trying to stop my slice ive been creeping into a stronger grip with all clubs without realising. Weakening my right hand grip a smidge has got me back on line. Love it Andy, path and face needs shouting from the rooftops
Hi Andy, My bad shot is that I Pull , Hook my driver, or what I call 3 of the tee ! You did mentioned it in the middel of this video but did not mention it again. I am a 10 handicap player with a good short game . If I could fix this problem my handicap would go down to 5-7 I think Do you have any solutions ?
It’s as if Andy knows my swing faults 😮 I hit 72, then a 77 then 85, the 85 contained 3 straight pulls = 1 lost ball, 1 disastrous bunker plug and a further 2 drops shots etc etc all from 3 pulled 8 & 9 irons, and yes; my bad driver is a pull slice 😢 I am currently8 hcp but I feel I should be about 4. The pull is killing me. 290 drive, 80 yards to the green, second shot pulled into the bunker left of the green, realistically a 5 maybe even a six, it’s sooooo annoying 🤐
Too much talk to explain a straightforward concept. This video does not need to be 13 minutes long. You lost me waiting for you to get to the main point.

My pleasure haha
And well done
Me to a T Andy, playing today so will give it a go 👍
I recently started recording my swing and the bit about club face angle at the top of the back swing was gold for me. Thank you
Glad it's helped buddy
Thank you, Now I understand what is happening to my drives as well as my pulling nearly every shot.
ive been struggling with this on and off for years and your video expalains it very clearly !! thanks Andy.
I feel that when I hit pull shots it is also because I don't weight shift onto a firm left side which allows the right side to overpower the left. If I concentrate on the weight shift to the left at the start of the downswing this helps stop the unwanted right shoulder move.
I have been struggling with this all season. This certainly helps me better understand how the back shoulder affects the path. Thank you!!!
Glad this has helped buddy
Daily ! I seem to pull my irons left a few times every round ! Thanks for your help ! I can't quit figure it out ! LOL !

Game changer, working fantastically for me on the range, let's see can we take it to the course!
Definitely works on the course too ;)
Amazing video, awesome channel! I wish I found this two months ago before golf season started.
Plenty to catch up on buddy
Good video mate, fixed slice with driver by tucking trail elbow and not over swinging shot my first 87 been playing a year 🎉 thanks for the videos
Excellent video. It helped me a lot with my problems. Have finally understood some of my issues 😊
I concur one of best golf instructors. I’ve used and had more success with Andy’s tips than any others. Keep it up Andy. Thanks!😊
Why thank you
Probably why my divots are going left on my irons good video andy thx

Thanks, glad its helped identify issues for you to fix
Top class info Andy - you're presentation style is getting better too.
Well done matey
Thank you 👊🏽

Awesome. Glad you enjoyed the video
Preach to me Andy. Just had it happen to me on Friday
This is my normal miss. Now I understand it, I can correct it. Great tips, thanx.!
My pleasure
Literally just analyzing my game from the weekend and noticed some of these on recording. Hopefully something in this video will click for me!
Awesome video, this is my iron game to a t lol. You don’t get enough credit should have way more subs. Keep it up 🍻
The best coach online. It is boastful but probably true based on my experience as a pupil.
Legend 👊🏽
Thx for the reminder, Andy. My "feel" is the trail shoulder moving down and through. The "real" is sometimes out and around, however, lol.
The feel is the starter though
Great info! Thanks

Let’s lower them scores 👊🏽👊🏽
Great video Andy
Thanks Will 🙏🏽
You just exactly described me. Pull/slice
Hopefully this helps fix you
When the pressure is on I pull my irons…. My driver is always between a straight to a draw/hook - I don’t slice or pull my driver and I never understood why. I have been trying to groove the feeling of the shoulder going down instead of out
Have you done a lesson about how to go from upper body hitter to a lower body or leg hitter?
Because as we get older we're more of upper body hitter!
I like your videos though
Hi Andy. My miss is the pull/pull-hook and its interesting because I very much have an in to out swing but I am shutting the face at address. I almost never miss my driver right. Worth mentioning.

Sounds like it should help if you have the face neutral throughout the swing
Andy can you please do a grip at address video? Another great video. Cheers
I have a couple already on the channel
Why is the GOLF GRIP key?

🗣️🗣️PATH AND FACE
Took this to the course today and shot a personal best 137. Everything I hit was long and straight! I even putted better today! BOOM
Well done John, Lets get you below that 100 mark
Thanks I have been having this problem lately but I don't slice my drives
Could be worth exploring why the face closes at impact
How should the head of club be at address open or square getting so messed up with this on my wedge shots.
Always work from square
Does this work with driver too.
Absolutely 👊🏽

I can’t diagnose your swing without seeing it bud. Download the Skillest coaching app, and drop me a DM

Hey Andy,
love your content ! That helps me a lot! But you absolutly need a compressor or limiter on your mic! It peaks very often and sounds crunchy.
Yes the editor said the same actually. A setting adjusted ‘itself’ so should be ok for future videos
Thanks bud
What is happening when you pull your irons and duck hook the driver
loving the videos as always andy, was funny seeing you in the place I work at yesterday lol Hope you weren't getting drunk lol
Haha thanks bud. Filmed some great videos with Average golfers
My biggest issue by far.
Should link this video to Rick 👀😂
Bobby Locke used to pull his shots Magnusk
Keep down through the shot - don’t be eager to peek at the shot - and focus on swinging the club towards the target
3 of the worst things you can say to any golfers lol
It’s as if Andy knows my swing faults 😮 I hit 72, then a 77 then 85, the 85 contained 3 straight pulls = 1 lost ball, 1 disastrous bunker plug and a further 2 drops shots etc etc all from 3 pulled 8 & 9 irons, and yes; my bad driver is a pull slice 😢 I am currently8 hcp but I feel I should be about 4. Ahhhh the beauty of golf summed up in 1 paragraph!
You are in my head 😂😂😂
I’m everywhere Ian 😂
Long and left, literally my mantra after every shot within 150 yards
Come for a lesson, drop me an email and i'll fix YOUR swing
I only pull it whenever it's an approach shot. haha
Like the idea. Don’t like that you took so long to get to it.
13 minutes of your life to stop pulling the ball ... isn't too much of an inconvenience for free advice is it lol?!
Too much talk to explain a straightforward concept. This video does not need to be 13 minutes long. You lost me waiting for you to get to the main point.
Can’t please everyone!!
Umm…..yeah. If a Bogey is blowing up your score then lol. YOU don’t need youtube videos
All relative! Lol!
