How to Cure a Golf Pull

  • The game of golf can be so wonderful, but it can also be extremely humbling.
A great round can get derailed quickly by a couple bad shots if you don't know how to adjust on the fly.
Click For Free Video: topspeedgolf.com/your-free-vi... How to Cure a Golf Pull
In today's video, I'm going to focus on a very common "miss", a pulled shot.
Pulled shots can be very frustrating because the shot can feel good, but you look up and it's going well left of the intended target.
If you understand how this has happened, and what you need to do to fix it, you can jump right back on track and save your round.
    In this video you'll learn:
~The most common reason you pull the golf ball (and what the pro's do to avoid it)
~A series of drills to ingrain the proper technique up to 10x faster than typical training methods, and
~How all these lessons tie into the Top Speed Golf System
    Let's get started.....
I look forward to working with you much more in the future with Top Speed Golf. Good luck with your golf.

Tried this 2 days ago. I only pulled one iron shot all day and hit 13 greens in regulation. In a normal round, I could pull around 5 iron shots which was so frustrating, especially when you are playing from on the fairway. Thanks for the great tip here Clay. I hope others have the same success as I did.

No s#@t, After watching tons of golf videos for over a year now, THIS video fixed my aim, added 25yards to every club in my bag and got me from 85 to 78 within only 30 days. True story, and I am incredibly skeptical of most TH-cam golf instruction. THIS guy knows golf and this is a CRITICAL video. If you don't understand what he's saying, keep watching and practicing until you do. This can even fix your slice too. 1 missing element, make sure you can touch the top of your kneecap with your right hand from address. Proper Tilt was the Holy Grail and last missing piece for me. Thanks Clay!!

Best video I have seen in a while. Every non drive was going left. After watching this I looked at my spine while standing in front of a mirror. Daaaaammmmmn, it was leaning forward. Went to the Sim, tilted my spine and I hit the green almost every shot. Holy crap!! Thanks Clay, great video.

I recently had success resolving this 'left' issue by making an over the top practice swing to feel the wrong way of doing it and then making a practice swing the right way. Then I just repeat that 2nd swing when I set up to the ball. It works. Now it see it here via video. Neat.

I've been struggling with a pulled slight draw for some time now. At 63, I started back playing 10 months ago after a 15 yr layoff and it has been a quite the challenge. This instruction has gotten me back on line and hitting that wonderful high baby draw I wanted. I found your video on Sunday evening, practiced the setup and turn at home, warmed up and played at the course on Tuesday and Thursday. Fantastic!! My low point was much more consistent and was really driving through the ball. The only draw back I found was, I'm going to have to recalibrate my wedge play. The contact was so clean and crisp, I spun two balls off the green on front flag placements. Can't thank you enough Clay!!

Hey Clay, just wanted to write a thank you message for this video. I have been hitting the ball pretty pure lately but had a comment from a friend saying I was swinging across myself a bit, took a few videos at the range and I noticed I was pulling my shots pretty badly. Couldn’t work out why and then I saw this video and thought I’d give it a go .... all I can say is wow, what a difference, straight away I was getting the club nice and shallow with an in to out path. Now I’m lining up nice and square to target and hitting perfect high push draws. The swing is looking awesome now and I’m hitting some great shots all because of this one simple change. Thanks again Clay!

This makes so much sense. Ive been watching a lot of golf instructional videos to improve my ball striking and they all rightfully talk about pressure on the lead foot and hitting down on the golf ball. With those swing thoughts I guess I naturally changed my spine tilt to be more forward to compensate those things and while my ball striking greatly improved I kept pulling it. This explains a lot. Feels like things are starting to come together for me

Hi, I came across your video on how to grip the club properly some time ago and it helped my swing. But I went from a slice to a pull. Interesting enough when it went to the left (say 20 degrees), I was getting my best distance. I watched this video and realized I was leaning forward on my back-swing. So I tried your stable fluid spine method at the range today and wow, what a difference. First time hitting a ball this year and my best practice in a while. And I use your putting techniques too. Can't wait to try this on the course...Thanks.

excellent video Clay, i'm more mindful now with impact position. I've really enjoyed your topspeed system and your youtube content. I had a question regarding weight shift vs body tilt. How are we suppose to transfer the weight to the front while maintaining the spine tilt, seems like they contradict one another.

Great and serious tips! Right on the money! By tilting spine away from target not only hit the ball straighter, but help get it more airborne that's exactly what we all needed. Something that is easily overwrite moments prior to taking the shot. I wasn't sure if it's the right move to do until you bring it up. Now l will try to ingrain it in hope to bring my score down and kick my buddies's butt from now on . Thanks a mil, Clay!

Great video Clay. Preach brother! I have struggled with this exact issue almost every round. Usually during tense shots, I forget that all shots are basically the same value in the end. It’s the misses that dictate the final score. You touched on the head in relation to the ball, one final thing I do when things revert to forward spine angle, I arrange my neck chin forward to target eye in the proper swing plane. When my head is right the rest follows more readily.

Clay, thank you. I have reduced my handicap from 18 to 10.2 in the last year with your help. I struggle with consistency and this video gave me one of the answers why. Question to clarify: shirt buttons just behind the ball for all clubs? Long irons (i.e. 2, 3, 4 iron shots) as well as driver?

Glad you like the video. Yeah, it will be pretty much for all clubs. You can be a little more on top of the ball with wedges. Play well! Quentin | TSG Instructor

Thank you! I practice wedge shots in my back yard and wonder why on some ‘infrequent’ evenings my shots feel soooo pure. Now I know!

Clay thanks so much for an easy explanation for pulling the ball. You are so right my golf pro gets me to put weight on the left side at address To hit down now I won't be doing that.

Great simplified explanation. I played in a scramble Wednesday and hit almost every club left. I hit the balls solid and was pretty much pin high or left of target. Even my short pitches and chips. What ever I am doing, I do it consistently with every club. I do not tilt back way as you described. Can’t wait to try this. Hope it’s that simple. Thanks.
