@@MrJohnlennon007 I was in denial when I played Goblet, after finishing Prisoner of Azkaban, I had never seen a gaming franchise go from 10 to 0 that fast.

To be fair goblet of fire in the movie felt like chapter of a book where there's three task and riddles to complete these tasks I think that's why the PS2 game version is like that. I know it's different from the first three games but goblet of fire is like that.
My friend had Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone on PC when it came out and it felt exactly like Hogwarts Legacy when It came out. It was so like playing the movie (or book) and it didn't felt like a movie cash grab game. Exploring Hogwarts was so fun. I'm so happy Hogwarts Legacy exist bringing back that "magic" once again!
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone on PC was great but it was a mission based level to level format with the occasional stage that lets you roam around hogwarts. They really improved with Chamber of Secrets PC and Prisoner of Azkaban PC though giving the player complete open world freedom design to explore like the GameCube/PS2/Xbox console versions did. My favorite thing about the first 3 games on PC is that it was more designed like a Platformer like Mario with spells basically lol PS1 games too, kinda wanna revisit the old ps1 games now lol Bonus points to GameCube/PS2/Xbox versions to have a full 3D model to fly around on a Broom at the time.
I remember me and my sister had agreement. I will dispatch spiders because she was afraid of them, but she will dispatch gnomes or as we called them potato men because I was afraid of them. I miss when we are young and dumb.
The PC and console versions of these games were made by different dev teams and had different philosophies about gameplay. The main reason to collect beans in chamber of secrets PC is for unlocking the secret wizard cards in the secret wizard card room at the top of the castle
Book Harry is way more unhinged and angry. He’s incredibly angsty even for a 15 year old, but he also experienced many of Voldemort’s emotions so it makes sense.
It's so funny how nostalgia works. I used to play Goblet a lot as a child, it was the only Harry Potter game I had, and I remember it a lot better than you described it. The Tournament missions were pretty impressive to me back then.
Yea I liked the card system a lot that gave diff buffs. Although the AI wasn't that good, I liked how the spell combos worked. Wasn't that bad to me either
I grew up on HP1 and didn't even get into HP2, though this one is decent. I tried HP4 and some others and hated them instantly. It's all about what you know or feel to be good, and what you have to compare against. If you only ever played HP4, then it might have seemed like a good game. It's only when you play much better games that you see that HP4 is not good. HP1, HP2, HP3, and Hogwarts are clearly the best overall. I think HP1. Even HP3 itself is not quite as strong due to failures in certain areas. HP2 has its own issues, and HP1 naturally has issues, being the first and so early (dev in about 2000). The rest are only good for certain elements. LEGO Harry Potter was pretty good, too -- but not as good as I wanted. By the mid-2000s, there were so many HP-like games that were far better that nobody cared about the rest of the HP games. People had moved on and were not even playing that genre/style as much, or single-player (multiplayer was now the biggest format).
I loved first 3 games and than there was Goblet of fire, i don't even remember if i have finished first mission of the game, it was that bad. Huge dissapointment because i havent finished any other HP game ever since... except for HL of course.
I know it's very unpopular but I vastly prefer the older games to Hogwarts Legacy. I'm probably way too attached to the OG characters and timeline so that's likely it. I simply don't want to play as myself in the 1800s.
i hate to say this but it isn't really "ALL" without the PC version of Stone, the PS1 version of Chamber, the GCN/PS2 version of Chamber (which works fine on Dolphin), or the PC version of Azkaban. for fans of HP games, the fact that the early games are entirely different on each console is a very important trait of the series 😅 also, the handheld games (GBC/GBA) include both action-adventures and rpg's as well
Prisoner and Order are the GOATs. For main movie tie in games. Prisoner was so fun to play and I occasionally just plug in my ps2 and play it when I really want to revisit it. Same with Order. The change in magic use with the stick was such a cool innovation at the time that I still kinda want to see what that would be like in game made today. Combined with getting more powerful the more of the secrets you find just mean you could blast through enemies pretty early on. I do wish there was a better way to do free duels though.
This is amazing, I recently played through almost every Harry Potter game out there. Happy to know someone else had the idea to do so as well, I feel less crazy haha
There's this one track from HP 1, Happy Hogwarts. It's an absolute masterpiece and I love coming back to it. Never fails to lift my spirits. Check it out. ❤
According to the books, HP is more angry and hysterical than the movies show. He yells and throws tantrums, so I guess in a way HP and the Order of Phoenix paints him more accurately.
Hogwarts Legacy is a worthy exploration game for HP fans. A great win for the studio which their last game was Cars 3. That's right they went from Disney infinity and Cars 3 to Hogwarts Legacy a vast improvement
My first HP game is HP2, of course is nearly 20 years ago.. Im to confused play games with lots of puzzle... Then i play HP4,after dad bought me ps2.. graphic is surprisingly good compare to the first two game.. Then my favorite is HP5, and HP6 (sadly is to short😅) And last year just bought ps5, and hogwarts legacy is magical and nostalgic. know im older now.. Busy with my job,and don't have lot of times, but i enjoyed every single time playing Hogwarts Legacy👍
I really love the first three, especially the chamber of secrets, but can find them anywhere now. I love finding secrets chambers/rooms in the hogwarts. So where can I find all these old games ?
I only remember playing Philosopher's stone as a wee boy on ps1 and Order of the Phoenix on PC when I was little older, I thought the wand system was nifty but looking back I can see it was kinda jank with a mouse. good memories though. as always Great Vid, C4G! glad I subbed!

If you can, you should get the ps2 version of harry potter and the chamber of secrets working, its like a combination of the pc version and the 2001 version of harry potter and the philosopher's stone. Really fun

For me, the HP2 PS2 version flickering issue only existed in the first level at the Weasleys. If you just ignore it for the first few minutes, the game is really playable on emulator 😊
The first 3 movie games Philosipher stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, Quidditch World Cup and Half Blood Prince game are the best old Harry Potter games by far. The Lego Harry Potter games and Hogwarts Legacy are also amazing.
Prisoner of Azkaban on PS2 was my favourite HP game as a kid and wish to still own a copy today 😢 I used to play shit outta that and I remember how anxious I was in school as I waited to get back to play!

I loved turning into a rabbit and dragon in prisoner’s of askaban :‘) but now I really love Hogwarts legacy… however the best hp games were the lego ones for me
I didn’t have any type of console until like 2005 or 2006 when I got a ps2, but before that I played the absolute hell out of those early Harry Potter games on pc, especially chamber of secrets and prisoner of azkaban. I remember liking order of the phoenix a lot as well for ps2. Movie games usually get a bad rep, but those early ones were genuinely good games for the time and were a far cry from the soulless cash grab the game series would become near the end.
Loved Chamber of Secrets (Playstation 2) back in the day! The part where it was night-time and the prefects wandered around and guarded Hogwarts, ahh the memories.
For Chamber of Secrets, I recommend the GameCube Version. It’s my favorite and I got it to work on the Dolphin emulator very easily. It’s similar to Philosopher’s Stone and Prisoner of Azkaban for PS2/Xbox/GC, but it’s very charming, and I feel it’s less buggy than the PS2 version. Also, less stealth sections (no idea why they added some in the PS2, probably for padding?)
Yeah sadly the PS2 got the more buggy versions of the games over the Xbox and GameCube version. Also the Hidden item location sidequests on PS2 do not even make sense since the items are not even close to any of the hints they give you.
Apparently from looking it up the Xbox and Gamecube versions were made after the PS2 versions so they fixed bugs and made improvements on the Xbox and Gamecube ports before release.
1. Chamber of Secrets (PC) 2. Prisoner of Azkaban (PC) 3. Philosophers Stone (PC) 4. Order of the Phoenix (PC) 5. Halfblood Prince (PC) 6. Deathly Hallows Part II (PC) 7. Goblet of fire (PC) 8. Deathly Hallows (PC) I only played a few console games but in my opinion the PC games were better
Prisoner of Azkaban is best of the first 3 games. Goblet of Fire is utter garbage, so much that I lost complete interest in the future games. I only played DH2 but it was meh. Thank goodness that we now have Hogwarts Legacy. Not considering the meh ending to the story, it is the best game in this particular universe.
I bought all hp second hand games for the ps2 and I am still able to play them, at least until part 6 😍🥰. Good to now that the last two games of hp part7 are shit. The only two I never owned or played. I currently also have hogwarts legacy on ps5 and men that game is amazing 🤩😍❤. One of the best games ever.
1st game is awesome on PC but from the 2nd game to till the last I played on PS1 and PS2 but and about Hogwarts Legacy the only thing I hate about it that it's not cannon to the series like the mobile game magic awakening is cannon it takes place after the main series and other characters actually appear in it , yes in Hogwarts Legacy there are still characters who are related to the series like the Weasly family we got 2 of them in the game but it still feel like a spin off but it's an awesome game
That must be the only movie franchise with direct tie-in games up to the 2010's - except with terrible cover-shooter instead of terrible action platformers like in the 80-90's. Appropriate for a setting very much stuck in the past I guess 😄
the first two games are special for me, since I played them with a friend who is also a Harry Potter fan, it’s a pity we went our separate ways... but now, of course, Hogwarts Legacy is cool, the only thing is that I didn’t like the stairs, maybe in part 2 they will return the old one .I also really like that each house has different interiors, that is, all this was not done with copy and paste, this gives you the feeling that someone really lives in this world .Well, the combat system is what we needed =-)
I played HP 1 on the PC, but I was so bad at moving and casting at the same time, my brother did the casting for me. It was super fun and it's good that Legacy pays homage to games like it.
I would say that Chamber of Secrets game on both pc and GameCube/Ps2/Xbox console being the best game at the time is what made people expect that out of a harry potter game
For HP2 PC, the jumping was a pain in the ass 😂. I remember falling to death so many times. I believe that games in the present are designed to become harder than before. We as experienced players might feel easy revisiting old games.
Great video! I hope you will return to the Harry Potter franchise again in future and try to play and compare different versions of the same games, because they're completely different, separate games, not ports. Just Harry Potter 1 has about 5 different versions made by different developers: PC/Mac by Knowwonder, PSX by Argonaut, PS2/Xbox/Gamecube by Warthog, Gameboy Color by Griptonite and Gameboy Advance by also Griptonite. They have different gameplay, graphics and narrative. Playing them in the order and by the platform also shows how different developers perfected their formula with sequels. The games become more similar with HP4 but their portable versions still differ from main platforms.
9 franchise games in 10 years is crazy... that's like the old style of game dev. nowadays it's 2 franchise games in 10 years, and maybe a remaster five years after that😂
Not being open world, and following an already existing book + movie series made it a lot easier I guess. Licensed IP games are so, SO rare nowadays, while a good 1-1.5 decade ago we had licensed everything! Recently found out that the there was a Price is Right, Hell's Kitchen and Grey's Anatomy games lol
@@adam-vm3zj Yeah the games were also rushed you can tell especially with the first 3 games depending on versions like how the ps2 versions were more buggy then the GameCube and Xbox because of time restraints.
What a great series to look at! I mean, EA tried hard to keep up with the cadence of the movies that they so obviously took dives in certain years to rejigger their formula every once in awhile, even when passing it off to different EA studios - the most obvious example probably being when they took their "off year" for Goblet of Fire so they could give an extra year to "Order of the Phoenix." I mean, it's inevitable - I doubt ANY publisher could've done any better. It's legitimately interesting to see how they handled it, and I guess it's Warner Bros' turn now... though they have the advantage of NOT having to try to keep up with the movie releases. The original games modeled after 3D Zelda titles/Beyond Good & Evil/Okami were definitely the best though. I got a modded Xbox two years ago and actually played through Prisoner of Azkaban on Xbox again - still a really fun play! And I do really like those old, cartoony stylized graphics. I'm sure you received this comment already, but I really wish you took at least a glance at the Game Boy Color and GBA games. There were a few interesting and genuinely good Harry Potter games, mostly because they were modeled after solid RPGs - the GBA version of Prisoner of Azkaban was even inspired by Golden Sun (very obvious when you look at the battles). They were all fun little RPGs and action-RPGs produced by solid handheld specialist studios like Torus, but I doubt they could support a video on their own like the LEGO games and Hogwart's Legacy. If you get the chance, it would be neat to see you cover them though.
I had a few harry potter games and by far, the prisoner of Azkaban is the one I liked the most, had the pc version and collecting everything, the special rooms and spells was amazing, I will always remember it with such care
Growing up on the first 3 games and then turning on Goblet of Fire was one of my first big heartbreaks in life. I felt bad for not playing it because my mom bought it for me (took the free movie ticket 😂) but man it was just so atrocious and unplayable I couldn’t make myself beat the game
I remember playing Chamber of Secrets a lot as a kid. I would rent it from Blockbuster. Even today when I play Hogwarts Legacy, if I’m casting flipendo I’m saying it aloud the correct way.
I only played HP 1 on pc and half blood prince on ps2 but I remember LOVING potions for the latter, ofc hogwarts legacy is amazing.. just wish there was more "hogwarts" aspect of it, more classes.. maybe complex potions.. that would've been amazing
Na I wish there was more sections like the intro. They actually feel cinematic and not just like running from area to area for a tiny mission. Which is how open world games work most of them time. I think if there were a handful longer well designed missions like that it would have improved the game greatly. I still think it’s the best Harry Potter game period. But it literally peaked in the first mission and only got close to that level like 4 more times with the few other missions that had full on long well designed moments and environments designed just for the mission. Like the mission where you go with poppy and end up freeing the dragon. Missions like that and the intro, there’re a few others, elevate the experience and break up the monotony that plagues open world games.
There are three versions of Harry Potter and the sorcerers stone and the chamber of secrets: ps1, ps2 and pc. Each game was made by a different developer and oddly enough I like certain versions over others. For example the definitive version of sorcerers stone is the ps2 version, but second best is the pc version. Chamber of secrets I like pc so far as it is the one I grew up with, but even though I have the ps2 version I haven’t played through it yet. Azkaban I haven’t tried ps2 yet, but pc I have played and love it. Goblet of Fire and the deathly hallows games were soulless cash grabs though.

8. Deathly Hallows (PC)
I only played a few console games but in my opinion the PC games were better
Prisoner of Azkaban is best of the first 3 games. Goblet of Fire is utter garbage, so much that I lost complete interest in the future games. I only played DH2 but it was meh.
Thank goodness that we now have Hogwarts Legacy. Not considering the meh ending to the story, it is the best game in this particular universe.
At first I struggled a bit to understand you properly, but I have to say your reviews are great
Keep up the good content
Greetings from Germany
I bought all hp second hand games for the ps2 and I am still able to play them, at least until part 6 😍🥰. Good to now that the last two games of hp part7 are shit. The only two I never owned or played. I currently also have hogwarts legacy on ps5 and men that game is amazing 🤩😍❤. One of the best games ever.
Harry Potter could never beat my Hogwarts legacy character. my body count was way too high
Currently playing Hogwarts Legacy on my Limited Edition Steam Deck OLED. It’s easily the best😊
You forgot the best one, the quidditch game! It was good from what I remember but not sure if it aged well.
I played the goblet of fire as a kid and it kind of just makes sense now why I could never get past the couple first levels.
I've also played all of them growing up
You should play the sorcerer stone and chamber of secrets for the GBC. They’re completely different games.
i have played the harry potter and the pilosopher stone for ps2 and its "open world" i really loved the game u should play and try
That must be the only movie franchise with direct tie-in games up to the 2010's - except with terrible cover-shooter instead of terrible action platformers like in the 80-90's.
Appropriate for a setting very much stuck in the past I guess 😄
now make a video with all Kamen riders game
Bruh hearing hp for ps1 brings back memories I hope they release the ps1 versions of philosopher's stone and the chamber of secrets on ps store
The old games were much better compared to hogwarts legacy
What about Harry Potter lego year 1-4 and Harry Potter lego year 5-7
the first two games are special for me, since I played them with a friend who is also a Harry Potter fan, it’s a pity we went our separate ways... but now, of course, Hogwarts Legacy is cool, the only thing is that I didn’t like the stairs, maybe in part 2 they will return the old one .I also really like that each house has different interiors, that is, all this was not done with copy and paste,
this gives you the feeling that someone really lives in this world .Well, the combat system is what we needed =-)
I wish he played Quidditch World Cup
By the way, the voice acting of the first part of Harry Potter is better than in Hogwarts Legacy ahaha.
I played HP 1 on the PC, but I was so bad at moving and casting at the same time, my brother did the casting for me. It was super fun and it's good that Legacy pays homage to games like it.
LEVIOSAAAAAA!
Thanx for not including the lego games
The best harry potter games were actually on the gameboy...
I would say that Chamber of Secrets game on both pc and GameCube/Ps2/Xbox console being the best game at the time is what made people expect that out of a harry potter game
Which of these were developed by Rowling?
You forgot the handheld games that were actually turn based rpgs.
For HP2 PC, the jumping was a pain in the ass 😂. I remember falling to death so many times. I believe that games in the present are designed to become harder than before. We as experienced players might feel easy revisiting old games.
why didnt you play harry potter for kinect?
Its crazy how long it took to get Hogwarts Legacy
great video i hope u do a video on the Harry Potter lego games
anyone have a link to get all the games now
well u dont talk about the quiditch game
You got prisoner of azkaban named wrong at time stamps btw and overall good video man
9 franchise games in 10 years is crazy... that's like the old style of game dev. nowadays it's 2 franchise games in 10 years, and maybe a remaster five years after that😂
Not being open world, and following an already existing book + movie series made it a lot easier I guess. Licensed IP games are so, SO rare nowadays, while a good 1-1.5 decade ago we had licensed everything! Recently found out that the there was a Price is Right, Hell's Kitchen and Grey's Anatomy games lol
@@adam-vm3zj Yeah the games were also rushed you can tell especially with the first 3 games depending on versions like how the ps2 versions were more buggy then the GameCube and Xbox because of time restraints.
these games were my childhood i played them religiously
prisoneiro de azkaban é muito melhor no pc
Where Harry Potter and Qudich World Cup?
Read the title
I dropped so much money for Sorcerer's Stone for the PS2 version. Worth it even at double the price of modern full price games.
you forgot harry potter qwc
Lol dude I literally tried forever yestersday to get the PC verison working too , and ended up doing PS1 too. Did you end up figuring it out?
Man really got bored waiting for KCD2
lol what kcd2?
@@steezyskingdom come deliverance 2
Growing up on the first 3 games and then turning on Goblet of Fire was one of my first big heartbreaks in life. I felt bad for not playing it because my mom bought it for me (took the free movie ticket 😂) but man it was just so atrocious and unplayable I couldn’t make myself beat the game
I remember playing Chamber of Secrets a lot as a kid. I would rent it from Blockbuster. Even today when I play Hogwarts Legacy, if I’m casting flipendo I’m saying it aloud the correct way.
If you didn’t get the ds versions and gameboy advanced you didn’t play them all☝️🤓
I only played HP 1 on pc and half blood prince on ps2 but I remember LOVING potions for the latter, ofc hogwarts legacy is amazing.. just wish there was more "hogwarts" aspect of it, more classes.. maybe complex potions.. that would've been amazing
Goblet of Fire was fun on PSP -someone who actually played it at the time, not someone going back in time with a modernity mindset
I can't understand this dude at all but I can't find another video like this so.... closed captioning should help
Until hogwarts legacy, my FAVORITE Harry Potter game is Prisoner of Azkaban for the gameboy Advanced. It is such a solid game!
