    • @lukesperling564
      @lukesperling564 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The weight of the batteries in the wireless stuff is normally heavier than the weight of the cables and housing (especially when he’s using the super lightweight stuff), but he could probably have had a custom made dropper based off the dt swiss design that could be under 300g

  • @bigbo1764
    @bigbo1764 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    A dropper honestly isn’t necessary in trail or XC, it’s great in All-mountain and Enduro, but a properly adjusted fixed post can get you down pretty much any downhill in style(as long as it isn’t a Whistler double black or pro line). And as much as weights weenies are made fun of, it is necessary to have a light bike when racing XC, racing a lighter bike on 30 miles of uphills and downhills makes a significant impact on overall time, and when racers are within 5 minutes of each other, that 1 pound extra dropper is not worth it.

    I had that saddle - It's made in a factory in Portugal by a brand called Gelu. I would not recommend it for xc, I rode it on my epic and it snapped on the third day, splintering and cutting my inner leg! It's a Smolke sticker on a Gelu saddle!

    always thought a sub 20lbs all mountain bike would be the next evolution in the sport. i do alot of alpine riding where the bikes ends up sitting on my shoulder for long periods and the day are long with lots of vertical to climb. it would be awesome to have 5/6inch travel solid mtb that weighs under 20lbs.

    I wanna see more spokes like that! I'd buy Berd spokes if I could afford them.
