My daughter raced on Furious Fred’s when it was dry, still have them, superlight and OK in easy conditions. She weighed 40kg back then, so it was important to keep her bike light. I’ll put them on my Epic to drop the weight.

That’s exactly what I’m saying. I replaced a $400 cassette with a cheaper one and also more expensive DT wheels with lighter LB wheels. After selling the replaced parts I’ll have profit haha

Thanks. They previously sent those plastic mounts with the handlebars. They now have adjustable metal one that is heavier and that you need to buy separately...

Thanks, bro 👊🏼 I did have a microphone on me while riding :) Grips have enough thickness, but not enough density for trials in my view, but no one stops you from trying. They are €15 so not too expensive, especially taking into account 30g saving comparing to trialtech foam grips

I have a SCOTT SPARK WC, whole bike is 8.7KG, with 300grams flat pedal. The secrets are Extralite and Darimo. If I was you, I will choose Darimo Stem(80g), handlebar(100g) and Seatpost(90g), and Extralite hub(240g front and rear) . Your bike can easily 200g lighter oh, yeah, Replace your fork with Rockshox SID SL Ultimate, another 200g gone!
Thanks for the suggestions. That would drive the cost up significantly! Most of the parts in the video I found good deals on. Moreover, I really like how the Syncros handlebars look and match the style of the rest of the bike. For my F-Si project I already have the extralite stem and Bjorn seatpost, saddle and handlebars. They are a bit more heavy than Darimo, but also have higher weight limit 👌🏼
How do you feel about the Fox 100 SC? I'm in the position where I can save about half the cost of the new 120 SC for my spark build... I know you like jibbing. Do you feel this fork hinders your trail rides?

It wasn’t cheap, I must admit. But I bought most of the parts either used or with some good discounts. Also the DT Swiss wheels that I removed cost a fortune so they helped offset a big chunk of the costs.

Why? Have you tried it? I’ve just done 130km on it and it’s one of the most comfortable saddles that I’ve tried. The shape of the saddle is much more important than a padding. For padding you need proper bib shorts.

i have done this also with my 29er xc hardtail from 13 kg stock to 11.6 kg not bad for Orbea Alma whit a Alu frame

Yes, they are fine for certain conditions and light riders. I also keep them, but thinking more of a gravel bike use.

I wouldn’t say it hinders my trail rides, but if weight is not your key priority, then I’d go for 120 SC, especially at half price.
I’m actually in the process of making a video where I’m converting my Spark to a downcountry bike with 120 SC, dropper and 2.35” tyres :)

I’ve just checked and Fast Trak in 2.3 weighs 640g (according to Specialized), so it is heavier than Ralph/Ray tyres that I have.

That saddle will NEVER be comfortable.
Why? Have you tried it?
